Xue Zi summoned Zhou Shi, informing her that Xue Le had sent an email demanding severe punishment for Zhou Shi's perceived betrayal and jeopardizing company interests. However, Xue Zi understood Zhou Shi's actions and recognized Xue Le's ambition to "show off." She instructed Zhou Shi to return to work at Snow Group, clarifying that she wouldn't view Zhou Shi as an adversary simply because she was a Yunma shareholder, a company Xue Zi also held shares in.
Zhou Shi chose to remain at Snow Group and divulged that Yunma planned to share artist copyrights with Shangjue and provide artwork for the biennial, a significant move given that copyrights were Yunma's primary bargaining chip. Zhou Shi suspected Xue Le had compromising information on Wei An, as Wei An wasn't easily bribed, but Xue Zi stated Xue Le wouldn't confide in her even if he did.
Inquiring about Wei Qing, Zhou Shi admitted he was still depressed after the betrayal. Xue Zi expressed her wish for Wei Qing to be her competitor in the future, not a "traitor," and suggested Zhou Shi spend time with him. Zhou Shi, however, preferred to keep her professional and personal lives separate, promising to encourage Wei Qing privately. Zhou Shi returned to Wei Qing's home to find him enthusiastically cleaning with new high-tech gadgets.
He jokingly proposed becoming a househusband, with her as the breadwinner, while he focused on "eating and drinking." Zhou Shi updated him on Wei An's deal with Shangjue and Xue Le's attempts to remove her from Shangjue, hinting at a looming conflict between the Xue siblings. Wei Qing, however, deflected, stating it was dinner time and not for work.
He playfully reassured her of his resilience, asserting that only she, his "barbaric woman," could ever defeat him, playfully recalling a past encounter where she "pinned him down on the ground." When Wei Qing asked her to stay the night, Zhou Shi politely declined, citing her need to settle back into her role at Snow Group, but promised to spend the upcoming weekend with him.
Later, Zhou Shi arrived at her own home to find Ning Fei also engrossed in cleaning. He pulled her aside to confess his feelings for Lin Feifei and sought her help in pursuing her. Ning Fei acknowledged everyone's desire for him to regain his memories but wondered if he would ever be accepted if his memory never returned.
He admitted his past rebelliousness but vowed to change, even offering to use his original name if it helped, but insisted on acceptance for his current self. He challenged them to look to the future, as past memories only spanned two years, while their future together could be much longer. Zhou Shi sympathized, agreeing his amnesia wasn't his fault, and admitted she could accept him.
However, she felt she couldn't decide for Lin Feifei due to their entangled past, advising Ning Fei to prove himself worthy of acceptance to everyone, especially Lin Feifei. Ning Fei, emboldened, promised to prove he was better than his past self. That night, Wei Qing video-called Zhou Shi, claiming he couldn't sleep. Despite Zhou Shi's initial annoyance about working the next day, Wei Qing asked her to keep the video on, saying her face would help him sleep.
She playfully called him a "smooth talker" and a "greasy old man" before they exchanged goodnights, with Wei Qing expressing hope for their future together. The following morning, Wei Qing delivered breakfast to Zhou Shi's home, inadvertently waking Lin Feifei and Ning Fei, who loudly expressed their annoyance. Zhou Shi quickly ushered Wei Qing into her room, chiding him for the early disturbance. Wei Qing declared his intention to drive her to work daily to spend more time together.
Zhou Shi politely declined, worrying about awkward encounters with Xue Zi and Xue Le at Shangjue, and suggested he visit Li Mingcheng, who was also currently unemployed. Wei Qing agreed after Zhou Shi persuaded him to eat. Wei Qing then arrived at Li Mingcheng's, finding him meticulously cleaning as per a "house cleaning day" schedule. Wei Qing convinced him to drop his chores and go out.
While shopping, Wei Qing revealed to Li Mingcheng that his current predicament was an elaborate "setup" from the beginning, in which Li Mingcheng was an early participant. He explained that he would not tell Zhou Shi the full plan yet, fearing it might "backfire on her" due to her association with Xue Zi at Snow Group. They then encountered Ning Fei, who was buying drinks for Lin Feifei.
Wei Qing playfully teased Ning Fei about being Lin Feifei's unpaid "full-time assistant," warning him of potential heartbreak, to which Ning Fei retorted by mocking Wei Qing's "bankrupt" status. Li Mingcheng diffused the tension by inviting everyone to dinner at his house that evening. Ning Fei initially wanted to stay with Lin Feifei but eventually joined Wei Qing and Li Mingcheng as they visited Lin Feifei on her film set.
Lin Feifei accepted Li Mingcheng's dinner invitation and told Ning Fei to go ahead to Li Mingcheng's place to help. As Wei Qing and Li Mingcheng left, they encountered Xue Le and his assistant. Xue Le engaged Wei Qing in a veiled exchange, asking for advice on Yunma and Shangjue's cooperation and receiving a warning from Wei Qing not to "annoy an opponent you can't beat."
Xue Le, however, relished the challenge, stating he liked "taking on an impossible challenge" and looked forward to seeing Wei Qing's "next moves." During this encounter, Ning Fei recognized Xue Le’s assistant as the person who had pushed him down the stairs, and Li Mingcheng urged him to report it to the police. That evening, Xue Le visited Lin Feifei's film set and invited the entire crew to dinner to ensure Lin Feifei would attend.
At Li Mingcheng's home, Wei Qing and Ning Fei bickered while preparing dinner, resulting in garlic accidentally flying into Wei Qing's eyes. Bi Qiujing, upon returning, sympathized with Li Mingcheng for having to cook and "take care of these two kids." Lin Feifei called to say she couldn't make it due to the crew gathering organized by Xue Le, which upset Ning Fei.
Li Mingcheng later confided in Bi Qiujing that he was looking for a job, as Wei Qing seemed "negative" but had even sent him an interview opportunity. Bi Qiujing, finding this message, realized Wei Qing had a deeper plan. Zhou Shi and Bi Qiujing discussed Ning Fei's growing feelings for Lin Feifei, noting his earlier confession to Zhou Shi and his disappointment that Lin Feifei hadn't joined them.
Bi Qiujing expressed concern about Ning Fei's unrecovered memory, as he refused hypnotherapy, but also observed a developing closeness between him and Lin Feifei. Later, Wei Qing drove Zhou Shi home. They encountered Xue Le dropping off Lin Feifei. Xue Le professed his ambition to defeat Xue Zi and take over Snow Group, promising to stand up for Lin Feifei. Lin Feifei rejected this, stating she simply "doesn't like her" and doesn't need his intervention.
Xue Le then directly confessed his affection for Lin Feifei, asking her not to dislike him. Seeing Wei Qing and Zhou Shi, Xue Le congratulated them on their reconciliation, taking credit for Wei Qing's "long rest" and mocking his idleness. Zhou Shi retorted that Wei Qing would soon reclaim his rightful place, and if Xue Le needed an opponent, she was ready.
Back home, Ning Fei offered Lin Feifei fish soup he had personally prepared, having remembered her casual comment about liking it. Lin Feifei, tasting the bitter soup (due to the unremoved gallbladder), forced herself to compliment it to avoid hurting his feelings, then secretly spat it out after he left. Zhou Shi, noticing, shared Ning Fei's confession with Lin Feifei and asked about her true feelings.
Lin Feifei admitted her confusion, unsure if her affection for the current Ning Fei was genuine or merely a "projection" of her past feelings for Ning Fei. She still harbored hope for his memories to return, adding that while Xue Le was pursuing her, she found him "full of schemes" and preferred to keep him at a distance until her project was finished.
She lamented her complicated love life, having once hoped to marry a rich man, then falling for the "ungrateful cat," only for him to suffer amnesia. Unaware of Wei Qing's elaborate scheme, Zhou Shi grew concerned by his prolonged idleness, interpreting it as genuine depression. When she met with Xue Zi, Zhou Shi described Wei Qing as "semi-retired" and absorbed in "chilling and shopping like crazy," which Xue Zi found uncharacteristic.
Xue Zi stressed that Zhou Shi was the only one who could help him, prompting Zhou Shi to vow to find a way. Confronting Wei Qing at home, where he was absorbed in a new game, Zhou Shi reminded him of his past resilience in overcoming defeats and questioned why he appeared to have "given up."
Wei Qing confessed his exhaustion, explaining that after his father's death, his life was solely dedicated to Yunma, leading to estrangement from his mother and isolation. He cherished the period when Zhou Shi was in his life, as it offered him a life beyond work. Now, with her back, he was weary of work discussions and simply wanted to live for himself and for her, "not burdened by Yunma."
Zhou Shi challenged him, asking if he truly intended to surrender his "hard work" to others. Determined to rekindle his spirit, Zhou Shi, with the help of Lin Feifei and Bi Qiujing, orchestrated a romantic proposal scene in his home. When Wei Qing returned, he was surprised by the setup. As Zhou Shi called out to him, he accidentally slipped and fell into a pool, and she tumbled in while trying to help him.
Wei Qing playfully remarked on their "affinity with water," to which Zhou Shi reminded him that their "first formal kiss" had also occurred in a pool, surrounded by candles. As they reminisced, their emotions reignited. Wei Qing teased her, playfully recalling her past compliments, including her being "strong," "cowardly and stubborn," and only truly herself after "getting drunk." Zhou Shi lightly hit him.
He then corrected himself, remembering her words: "despite all my shortcomings, there will be someone in this world who likes me, who likes the real me." Zhou Shi then affirmed his earlier sentiment, telling him he didn't need to be "the best version of yourself" but simply "the real you." Expressing his gratitude, Wei Qing thanked her for letting him be himself.
Zhou Shi, in turn, declared her unwavering love and commitment: "no matter how many shortcomings you have, no matter what troubles you face, I will love you, love the real you. I'm willing to stay by your side forever. Through thick and thin." She then presented him with an engagement ring, proposing, "Wei Qing, will you marry me?"
