Zhou Shi and Wei Qing contacted Wu Zheng's studio to inquire about the sudden termination of their collaboration. The studio representative explained that the original agreement was only for the usage rights of the Aurora Constellation Series, but the contract sent to Wu Zheng had been altered to include the usage rights of all of Wu Zheng's artworks.
Wei Qing vehemently denied any modification, stating they had not changed the contract, and requested to speak with Wu Zheng in person to clarify the misunderstanding. However, the representative refused, accusing them of commercial fraud and asserting that Wu Zheng's team would reserve the right to sue. After the call ended, Zhou Shi and Wei Qing began investigating the contract.
It was Li Mingcheng who had signed and stamped the document, and he confirmed that it was fine when he checked it before stamping. The contract had only passed through three people: Wei Qing, Zhou Shi, and Li Mingcheng. Zhou Shi struggled to pinpoint the source of the problem, but she sternly warned Wei Qing that if he were found responsible for the tampering, she would not let him off easily.
That evening, while dining with Bi Qiujing and Lin Feifei, Zhou Shi discussed the contract issue. Lin Feifei believed Wei Qing wouldn't resort to such actions, explaining that while he might be ruthless, he would never jeopardize Yunma's reputation. Given Wu Zheng's standing in the industry, a lawsuit would severely impact Yunma. The question remained: if not them, who altered the contract?
Zhou Shi informed Bi Qiujing that Li Mingcheng had been suspended due to the contract incident, suggesting she go comfort him. Bi Qiujing admitted she wasn't good at comforting people. Lin Feifei and Zhou Shi demonstrated a playful approach, advising her to be affectionate with Li Mingcheng. Upon returning home, Bi Qiujing found Li Mingcheng playing the guitar, looking radiant. Following her friends' advice, she embraced him warmly, expressing her unwavering support.
Her actions significantly lifted Li Mingcheng's spirits, and although their previous misunderstandings hadn't fully resolved, their relationship softened considerably. Later, Bi Qiujing pondered how Li Mingcheng truly shone when playing guitar, and wondered if she had inadvertently overshadowed his brilliance, acknowledging her jealousy for not realizing his talent sooner. Lin Feifei encouraged her to make changes to maintain freshness in their two-year marriage. Zhou Shi then met with Xue Le to discuss the Art Biennial.
Xue Le revealed he was already aware of the situation and unsurprised by the outcome. He showed Zhou Shi a photo of Xue Zi and Wei Qing together, explaining that the Art Biennial was a test from the Snow family. Though Xue Zi held power, some family members aimed to elevate Xue Le due to his bloodline, but he needed the Art Biennial to gain credibility. He suspected Wei Qing and Xue Zi had conspired to obstruct his advancement.
Feigning resignation, Xue Le declared his intention to simply be a "useless rich kid" and warned Zhou Shi to be wary of Xue Zi. Furious, Zhou Shi confronted Wei Qing in his office, demanding to know if his meeting with Xue Zi was related to the contract. Wei Qing denied any involvement with the contract, claiming he met Xue Zi to persuade her to release Zhou Shi. Zhou Shi questioned Xue Zi's conditions for doing so.
Wei Qing hesitated before admitting Xue Zi required him to sabotage the Art Biennial, for which Xue Le was responsible. He insisted, however, that he had not tampered with the contract and had stopped aiding Xue Zi after their last argument, realizing the Art Biennial's importance to Zhou Shi. Unconvinced, Zhou Shi refused to believe him, stating his actions only pushed her further away, as she no longer needed his protection nor his self-serving interventions.
Shortly after, Wei An arrived, informing Wei Qing that Wu Zheng's legal team had issued a lawyer's letter, seeking compensation from both Shangjue and Yunma. Zhou Shi's anger flared, and she considered punishing Wei Qing but worried about exacerbating his illness. She called Dr. Chen, who advised her to offer warmth and care, or "settle accounts later" once Wei Qing's condition improved. Zhou Shi decided on the latter.
Wei Qing located Wu Zheng and, accompanied by Zhou Shi, went to apologize. However, Wu Zheng's secretary blocked their entry. Determined, Zhou Shi decided they would stay in the vicinity. The only available suite at the nearby resort had already been booked by Wei Qing, forcing them to share a room. While there, Zhou Shi unexpectedly encountered her former classmate, Zhang Shuai, who was at the resort to paint murals.
Zhang Shuai presented Zhou Shi with an old painting of Wei Qing's back that she had once created, prompting a surge of emotion in Zhou Shi, who now regretted her inability to paint. Later, Zhang Shuai spoke with Wei Qing, revealing that Zhou Shi had returned from abroad to be with him, despite her mentor's wishes for her to stay and develop her career.
He emphasized that Zhou Shi loved Wei Qing deeply, but her love was fragile and required mutual care and reassurance. Wei Qing was deeply moved by this revelation. To atone for his past mistakes, particularly for causing her hand injury by preventing her from working with Wu Zheng, Wei Qing prepared a candlelight dinner. During a sudden power outage, his attempt to surprise her resulted in Zhou Shi instinctively throwing her phone at him in the dark.
He then apologized for his selfishness and acknowledged his failure to grow alongside her. He recognized the painting Zhang Shuai had brought back as the one she drew of him after his mother had slapped him, and asked if she would forgive him again if they finished the painting together. Zhou Shi agreed. Meanwhile, Ning Fei, determined to repair the broken bowl for Lin Feifei, scoured many places but found no one capable of fixing it.
He then meticulously researched and bought materials to repair the bowl himself. Lin Feifei was touched by his effort but cautiously reminded herself not to conflate the current Ning Fei with the one she knew before his memory loss. The next morning, Zhou Shi and Wei Qing went for a run, hoping to intercept Wu Zheng, who had a habit of morning jogs. Upon seeing them, Wu Zheng immediately sped up and ran away.
Wei Qing, struggling with his stamina, couldn't keep up, and Zhou Shi refused to abandon him. They eventually made their way to Wu Zheng's house, but he still refused to meet them. Zhang Shuai, observing their predicament, suggested that Wu Zheng's daughter, Wu Xiao, was his soft spot.
He mentioned that Wu Xiao had recently returned from abroad and had been seen dining with her father at the resort, assuring them that if she helped, they would surely get to meet Wu Zheng.
