Love Under the Full Moon Episode 7 Recap
> Love Under the Full Moon Recap
Jin Xiaorui continues his attempts to woo Yuan Yuan with a barrage of cheesy pickup lines, but she is unimpressed. She tells the much younger man that his lines are outdated and she has no interest in a relationship with a younger man. She sends him off to his real job while she and Lei Chuxia prepare for the grand reopening of their bakery, Summer Time. Despite their optimism, the bakery's opening day is a disaster.
Hours pass with no customers, forcing them to slash their prices repeatedly. While watching delivery riders zoom past, Chuxia gets the idea to start an online delivery service. Yuan Yuan agrees but points out that to be featured on the city's popular food app, they need a signature item. She reminds Chuxia of their former bestseller, a cake called "Summer's Kiss," which Chuxia created years ago to cheer Yuan Yuan up after a breakup.
With Chuxia's amnesia, the recipe is lost, but they know its return is key to their success. Unable to remember the recipe on her own, Chuxia decides to ask her ex-boyfriend, Wei Xuanhe, hoping he might recall some details. At his office, Wei Xuanhe deceptively claims he knows the recipe but will only share it if Chuxia does three things for him. The first is to have a meal with him.
A worried Jin Xiaorui, who had arrived to support the bakery only to be put to work as a promoter by Yuan Yuan, immediately texts Xu Xiaodong to warn him about the "date." At his tech company, Xu Xiaodong is visibly upset by the news. His mood worsens when his boss, Zhou Sui, patronizingly dismisses his request to join the core project team, a move he had been promised.
Fed up, Xiaodong secretly instructs his AI, Turing, to exploit a vulnerability in one of the company's older games, creating a problem that only he will be able to solve. Wei Xuanhe takes Chuxia to the luxurious Peninsula Restaurant, explaining that as poor students, they could only dream of eating there. He uses the nostalgic setting to plead for them to get back together, but Chuxia gently refuses.
She explains that she wants to build a new future for herself, not simply relive the past. When a waiter accidentally bumps into Chuxia, Wei Xuanhe makes a scene, exaggerating the minor incident and insisting on taking her to a hospital for a check-up. Just before they leave the restaurant, Chuxia insists on paying and uses Xu Xiaodong's credit card.
Back at the office, Xiaodong receives the alert for the expensive meal and, realizing she's using his money on a date with her ex, storms out in anger. At the hospital, Wei Xuanhe lies to the doctor, pretending to be Chuxia's family to get information on her condition. He is privately relieved when the doctor explains that her amnesia is likely psychogenic and permanent.
Xiaodong finds Chuxia back at the bakery and, still annoyed, takes her for a follow-up visit with Professor Chen Mo. At the lab, they witness a hilarious scene as Xiaodong's aunt, Shen Weiwei, relentlessly flirts with the flustered professor. Chuxia overhears Weiwei's definition of being smitten: "When you're in love, your actions are faster than your heart." The phrase sparks an idea. That evening at home, Chuxia bakes several cakes but can't get the flavor right.
Remembering the cake's name and Shen Weiwei's words, she suddenly asks a stunned Xu Xiaodong to kiss her. He hesitates before giving in, and they share their first kiss. The moment of inspiration works, and Chuxia is immediately able to bake a perfect "Summer's Kiss." The next day at the shop, Yuan Yuan is ecstatic, confirming the cake tastes exactly as it did ten years ago.
When Jin Xiaorui tries a piece, he remarks that he recognizes the taste from something he ate at Xiaodong's house. This triggers a painful memory for Xiaodong: his father once bought him this very cake for his birthday, but he had gotten the date wrong by a month. Hurt by his father's perceived carelessness, a young Xiaodong had refused to eat it. Xiaodong’s plan at work succeeds.
The following morning, a panicked Zhou Sui pulls him aside, revealing that the game's system has been attacked. In desperation, Zhou Sui agrees to Xiaodong's demand to join the core project team if he can fix the crisis, even allowing Xiaodong to secretly use his identity and computer to do the work.
