To help Jin Xiaorui reconcile with a furious Yuan Yuan, Xu Xiaodong proposes a double date to an amusement park using VIP tickets he won as a project reward. Yuan Yuan initially refuses, calling Jin Xiaorui a liar and wanting nothing to do with him. However, she relents when a desperate Jin Xiaorui promises to accept any punishment she deems fit. At the park, Yuan Yuan gets her revenge by playfully tormenting Jin Xiaorui.
Later, he arranges a romantic surprise, confessing his insecurities over a loudspeaker before revealing himself with a heart-shaped light display. He admits he wasn't intentionally deceptive but felt inadequate and now wants to become a better person for her. Touched by his sincerity, Yuan Yuan assures him that he is perfect as he is and that they can grow better together. They share a kiss just as a fireworks display begins.
Meanwhile, Xu Xiaodong and Lei Chuxia watch the same fireworks display. He reveals he brought her to this specific park because he saw it in her old home videos and hoped to replace her recent nightmares of falling with happy childhood memories. Looking at the sky, Lei Chuxia feels overwhelmed with gratitude for her parents, her friends, and especially for Xu Xiaodong's constant companionship, remarking on how fortunate she is.
Following the trip, Lei Chuxia and Xu Xiaodong visit her psychiatrist, Dr. Tian Yu. The doctor concludes that while the park may have sparked feelings of déjà vu, it didn't unlock new memories. She recommends that Chuxia spend time with someone she was once intimate with. The only candidate is her former fiancé, Wei Xuanhe, a suggestion that makes Xu Xiaodong intensely jealous.
Despite his protests, Chuxia resolves to try, wanting to piece together her past so she can reunite with her parents. When she meets with Wei Xuanhe, he agrees to help, but is secretly alarmed that she is starting to remember things and decides he must keep her close to control the situation. At Xu Xiaodong's office, his boss, Zhou Sui, pulls him aside.
Ecstatic about the success of a recent project Xu Xiaodong contributed to, Zhou Sui explains he is on the verge of a major promotion to director and needs Xiaodong's help on one more crucial task. Xu Xiaodong agrees, but instead of a raise, he demands access to the company's core server room. Zhou Sui initially balks, explaining it's off-limits to interns, but caves when Xu Xiaodong threatens to withdraw his help.
While they negotiate, Lei Chuxia, sitting nearby, finds herself captivated by Xu Xiaodong's focused expression as he works, sketching him and secretly taking his photo. Her quiet moment is interrupted by a call from Wei Xuanhe. He arranges to meet her at the very spot he first proposed years ago. He presents her with their old wedding album and the original engagement ring, asking her to marry him so they can finally fulfill their promise.
However, Lei Chuxia gently turns him down. She explains that she cannot enter into a marriage, which she views as a sacred commitment, for the sole purpose of recovering her memories, as it would be unfair to him. She returns both the ring and the key to the apartment they once planned to share. Furious at the rejection, Wei Xuanhe retaliates.
He tells Lei Chuxia’s parents that he and Chuxia are getting married, a confusing lie that prompts them to leave their nursing home and return. Xu Xiaodong receives a text from the nursing home about their departure and, using his "Winter" alias, informs Lei Chuxia. The news throws her into a panic.
She explains to Xu Xiaodong that she cannot meet them; not only is her magnetic field-stabilizing wristband broken, which could endanger her mother's pacemaker, but she also fears that whoever was responsible for her fall ten years ago might harm her parents if she reappears. Determined to help, Xu Xiaodong contacts Professor Chen, who quickly builds a prototype magnetic field stabilization suit. Unfortunately, the suit is large and unwieldy.
While trying to figure out how Chuxia could wear it discreetly, Xu Xiaodong is inspired by a giant teddy bear prize in his apartment. He hollows out the bear, places the stabilization suit inside, and presents Lei Chuxia with the perfect disguise: a way to get close to her parents without revealing her identity or interfering with her mother's pacemaker. Disguised as the bear, Lei Chuxia accompanies Xu Xiaodong to pick up her parents.
Back at their home, she has an emotional and anonymous reunion as her parents reminisce about her favorite foods and their unwavering hope for her return, all while feeding her bites of food. Chuxia is overcome with emotion, hugging her mother while still in costume. The touching scene is shattered by the arrival of Wei Xuanhe. Ignoring Xu Xiaodong's warnings, he purposefully exposes her, ripping the bear head off in front of her stunned parents.
Panicked and afraid of bringing them harm, Lei Chuxia flees the apartment, with her distraught parents calling after her. As they run after their daughter, an incensed Xu Xiaodong punches Wei Xuanhe for his cruel interference.
