Lu Yao sat in her room, heartbroken as she recalled what Jinxiu had done. The Celestial Fox General sent someone to deliver a message, saying an assassination had taken place and the Northern Realm King was injured, asking the Celestial Maiden to come. Lu Yao sensed something was wrong and suspected that the assassin was actually the Celestial Fox General. These people tried to take Lu Yao away, but her attendants protected her and helped her escape.

Jinxiu obtained the Rebirth Token from Officer Chrysanthemum and brought Hongning to Meng Po. Meng Po said that although Jinxiu had the Rebirth Token, there was no continuation written in Hongning’s Book of Life and Death, and advised Jinxiu not to force it. If he insisted on crossing, he would be burned by karmic fire. Jinxiu insisted, and Meng Po had no choice but to step aside. Jinxiu carried Hongning across.

Though he was in extreme pain, Jinxiu continued to carry Hongning forward. Even if he couldn’t walk, he would crawl. Jinxiu said he didn’t know how much longer he could hold on. If he couldn’t make it, Hongning should run and not look back. Jinxiu collapsed and urged Hongning to run. Suddenly, Hongning appeared, and the karmic fire vanished. Meng Po was shocked. Jinxiu carried Hongning forward. Meng Po called out to him.

Jinxiu told Hongning to go ahead and that he would follow shortly. Hongning left first. The Celestial Fox General had people search for Lu Yao for a long time but couldn’t find her. He ordered them to keep looking, insisting she must be found. The Celestial Monarch and the Celestial Empress summoned Jinxiu and Kunlun, saying that both Heavenly Emperor Stars needed to descend to the mortal realm and undergo tribulation. Kunlun was frustrated, thinking Jinxiu should go instead.

The Celestial Monarch said that the Heavenly Dao indicated that both of them must go. Kunlun had no choice but to agree. The Celestial Empress asked the Celestial Monarch what would happen if they failed their tribulation. The Celestial Monarch said it was all the will of the Heavenly Dao, and even failure would be its intention. The Celestial Empress was furious and stormed off.

The Celestial Monarch summoned Jinxiu, saying he should have been punished, but it was the Heavenly Dao that allowed him to descend. If he hadn’t secretly brought the camellia spirit to the heavens, she could have lived peacefully in the mortal world. It was his selfishness that harmed the camellia spirit. The Celestial Empress summoned Kunlun and told him to seize this chance during the tribulation to become the Heavenly Emperor.

Kunlun said he wasn’t interested and that his brother should take the position. The Celestial Empress was furious. Jinxiu sought out the Heavenly Book, wishing not to forget Hongning and willing to accept any punishment. The Heavenly Book gave him something that would help him remember. The Celestial Empress also came, curious to see where Jinxiu and Kunlun would be reincarnated.

She didn’t expect Jinxiu to be reincarnated into the immortal path and Kunlun into the demon path, so she switched them. Lu Jiu came to find Jinxiu and saw that the Heavenly Book had reverted the change on its own. Jinxiu and Kunlun were about to leave. Kunlun said he marked his thumb so that Jinxiu could find him. The Celestial Empress was shocked to learn that Kunlun had become an ice demon.

When demons caused chaos, Jinxiu went to save people and rescued the mother of the reincarnated Hongning. Hongning was born. Jinxiu gave the camellia hairpin to Hongning’s father, who asked him to name the child. Jinxiu named her Hongning, wishing her a peaceful life, and hoping she would never ascend Mt. Cangwu. When she was a child, Hongning was almost injured, but Jinxiu saved her. Ten years later, Jinxiu had always watched over her but never revealed himself.

When ice demons stirred trouble, Jinxiu fought with them and discovered that one of them was Kunlun. He asked Kunlun to stay and cultivate. Lu Jiu told Jinxiu about seeing the Celestial Empress alter their destinies. Hongning had a dream about someone, but didn’t know who he was. Bai Cha was thrown into the Qilin Cave, where a demon told him that Hongning would betray him one day. Bai Cha didn’t believe it.
