Jiang Master ordered his servants to collect all the flyers circulating about the Jiang family and to keep a close eye on his younger son, Jiang Tianling. To keep Qi Delong occupied, he also sent her books to copy. Meanwhile, Qi Delong, already aware of her father's actions, requested Fang Yuncheng's help in gathering the flyers.

She emphasized that it was crucial to keep the matter from the Jiang family, especially Jiang Tianling, as it involved Lantern Boudoir and Lady Zhe Zhi, and she feared he might not be able to handle the distress. She vowed to apologize to Zhe Zhi once the ordeal was over. Unbeknownst to Qi Delong, a servant had already shown a flyer to Jiang Tianling, enraging him.

Jiang Tianling immediately tried to rush out to see Zhe Zhi, but Jiang Master intercepted him. Jiang Tianling vehemently insisted on going to Zhe Zhi, explaining that she had been implicated because of him. Jiang Master tried to dissuade him, suggesting he would find a well-educated, refined lady from a good family for him instead.

However, Jiang Tianling declared that societal matches and classical education were irrelevant; he loved Zhe Zhi and intended to see her every day, defying anyone who tried to stop him. When Jiang Master ordered his servants to restrain him, Jiang Tianling struggled, accusing his father of being irresponsible and failing his own mother, stating his mother's marriage to him was eight lifetimes of bad luck. Enraged, Jiang Master slapped him.

Jiang Tianling, undeterred, repeated his sentiment, then collapsed unconscious just outside the mansion gates. Old Madam Jiang rushed to her grandson, deeply distressed, and chastised Jiang Master for being so confrontational with Jiang Tianling, especially when he was already unwell from a cold. Jiang Master defended his actions, stating his son was stubborn and chose to defy him for a mere dancer.

Old Madam Jiang suggested that perhaps if Jiang Tianling had been allowed to see Zhe Zhi, she might have found someone else by now. Jiang Tianling eventually regained consciousness, still calling out Zhe Zhi's name. He assured Old Madam Jiang he wouldn't do anything foolish again but remained adamant that he would never give up on Zhe Zhi, despite her pleas for him to rest and not cause further trouble for the Jiang Mansion.

Later, Qi Delong's father, Qi Dong Qiang, was once again causing a public disturbance in the bustling streets of Chong'an. He loudly accused the Jiang family of "tainting" his innocent daughter and then "turning their backs" on them, demanding justice from the townsfolk. Qi Delong quickly intervened, snatching his gong and throwing it away. She publicly clarified that she had never been wronged or tainted by the Jiang family.

Qi Dong Qiang, however, accused her of lying and urged her to tell the "truth." In response, Qi Delong produced a stack of papers, revealing them to be her father's gambling debts accumulated over the years, exposing him as a gambler who saw her only as a source of quick money and sought to defraud the Jiang family.

Qi Dong Qiang then tried to save face by presenting a jade pendant, claiming it was a betrothal gift from the Jiang family. Qi Delong immediately exposed his lie, stating he had stolen it from the Jiang Mansion. Furious, Qi Dong Qiang struck Qi Delong. Just then, Fang Yuncheng arrived and promptly kicked Qi Dong Qiang.

Qi Dong Qiang then argued with Fang Yuncheng, stating he raised Qi Delong only to sell her for a good price and would suffer a "big loss" otherwise. Qi Delong confronted him, questioning if her entire upbringing was merely a transaction. Qi Dong Qiang callously replied that he sent her to Lang Ya Pavilion for a good marriage, planning to take the betrothal gift and leave, but was disappointed she would associate with "lowlifes."

Fang Yuncheng condemned Qi Dong Qiang's actions, stating that a father who would ruin his daughter's reputation for money was unfit to be a human, let alone a father.

He then landed three powerful punches on Qi Dong Qiang: the first for Qi Delong, for taking her hard-earned money and ruining her reputation; the second to prove he was neither a good-for-nothing nor a lowlife, but someone who ran a respectable business; and the third simply because Qi Dong Qiang was "scum and depraved." He sternly warned Qi Dong Qiang to stay out of Qi Delong's life from that moment on.

The doctor reported to Jiang Master that Jiang Tianling's high fever persisted, likely due to general weakness. While not a major concern, the doctor observed a worrying symptom: Jiang Tianling's calves were becoming weak, and this condition seemed to be worsening, reminding him of Jiang Tianling's mother's own illness. Meanwhile, Instructor Hou announced that their lessons were concluding. Jiang Baiyu and the other students expressed their sadness and gratitude, comforting him as they thought he was reluctant to part.

Instructor Hou, however, surprised them by admitting he was happy they were finally graduating, calling them the "toughest students" he had ever taught. Despite this, he expressed genuine delight at witnessing their daily growth and confessed he had learned a great deal from them. As a parting gift, Instructor Hou presented Jiang Baiyu and Jiang Tianling each with a silver lock.

To commemorate their time together, Fang Yuncheng created five yearbooks for his classmates to fill out, and they all happily did so. While Qi Delong was at Fang Yuncheng's place, requesting some of his new facial masks, a maid arrived and took all the available masks, expressing how much she would miss Fang Yuncheng. Qi Delong, perplexed, immediately questioned Fang Yuncheng about his impending departure. A flashback revealed Fang Yuncheng discussing his situation with Old Madam Jiang and Jiang Master.

He took responsibility for the confrontation with Qi Delong's father. Jiang Master informed him that the government had ruled it a simple fight, which he would cover the compensation for. More significantly, Qi Dong Qiang had been banned from Chong'an for five years due to the severity of his rumor-spreading.

Fang Yuncheng then formally requested permission to leave the Jiang Mansion, explaining his desire to explore the outside world and discover his true potential, promising to return and repay their kindness if he achieved success. Old Madam Jiang and Jiang Master granted his request, acknowledging that children eventually fly from the nest.

Back in the present, Fang Yuncheng confessed to Qi Delong that he felt his past efforts had been misdirected, and it was time to abandon a mistaken path, despite his deep reluctance. Qi Delong urged him to reconsider, suggesting that what he perceived as wrong might actually be right. Fang Yuncheng gently rebuffed her attempts to comfort him, stating his decision was a difficult but firm one. He planned to seek new opportunities in the capital city. He specifically asked Qi Delong not to disclose his departure to Jiang Baiyu and Shui Wuxia, as their exams were approaching, and he didn't want to distract them.
