Love in the Clouds Episode 36 (Ending) Recap
> Love in the Clouds Recap
Within the magnificent illusion of the Sky-Swallowing Array, Ming Yi and Ji Bozai found themselves in a paradise-like realm. Though Ming Yi wished for time to stand still, Ji Bozai reminded her that their duty to the Six Realms called them to seal the array. They then encountered Lin Ziyao, the true ruler of the netherbeast army from Cangwu Hill. Lin Ziyao revealed herself as the Spiritual Veins Fairy unjustly blamed for the Netherbeast Calamity a century ago.
She had sealed her divine consciousness within the array, awaiting those willing to sacrifice for the Six Realms. Lin Ziyao explained that a hundred years ago, the Emperor of Zhushui, Chao Heng, driven by ambition, used false love to trick her into cultivating netherbeasts at Cangwu Hill, hoping to control the Six Realms without harming his own primordial spirit. When she uncovered his destructive plot and tried to intervene, he imprisoned her.
While she was captive, Chao Heng secretly unleashed the netherbeasts to wreak havoc, then posed as a savior. To counter this, Lin Ziyao feigned cooperation, performing the Heartbond Array with him to suppress the netherbeasts. Unbeknownst to her, Chao Heng had a backup plan; he sacrificed her to forge the ancient forbidden Sky-Swallowing Array, hidden in the Zhuojin Tower, intending to activate it during the Qingyun Tournament to seize the Nine Heavens' spiritual origin and absorb the Six Realms' fortune.
The array required a century to mature and could only be fully opened by a spiritual veins individual from the Bo clan, possessing the unique attributes of Heavenly Grief and the Golden Millet Dream. Lin Ziyao commended Ming Yi and Ji Bozai for their synchronized divine consciousness and mutual trust. With her last spiritual power, she merged their spiritual veins, elevating them to the Perfected Stage to enable their escape and the array's destruction.
She entrusted the peace of the Six Realms to them, and Ming Yi vowed to protect it. Outside the array, Situ Ling, now fully infused with netherbeast power, was aghast to see Ming Yi alive. Ji Bozai declared an end to the Zhushui Spiritual State's tyranny. Situ Ling, in a furious outburst, refused to accept defeat. Ming Yi and Ji Bozai, with intertwined hands and merged spiritual power, chanted an ancient vow, successfully destroying the Sky-Swallowing Array.
Situ Ling collapsed, briefly regaining his senses. In his final moments, he looked at Ming Yi with longing, remembering their past and expressing a wish to start anew in their next lives. Ming Yi bade him farewell, hoping he would live for himself. With the array broken, everyone's primordial spirits returned, bringing peace to the Six Realms.
Subsequently, the rulers of all realms convened, decreeing that the Qingyun Tournament would henceforth feature a single final round of friendly sparring, and the blessings of the Nine Heavens would be equally distributed among all Six Realms, abolishing the distinction between upper and lower realms. Ji Bozai privately acknowledged his complex history with Bo Yulan, concluding that her initial act of saving him was genuine. He released all past grievances, wishing her eternal peace.
In the Six Realms, prosperity and harmony flourished. Gossip often centered on Ji Bozai's decision to renounce his crown prince title and become a common warrior, a choice that displeased the ruler of Yaoguang Mountain. Ming Yi's repeated rejections of Ji Bozai's marriage proposals were also a frequent topic, sparking debates about their affections and superior cultivation.
Twenty-Seven championed Ming Yi's unparalleled spiritual veins, while Buxiu lauded Ji Bozai's restored spiritual veins and the Spirit Well, often leading to lively arguments between the two companion beasts. Elsewhere, Zhang Tai, pregnant with twins, enjoyed a thriving business and a loving marriage with Zheng Tiao. Empress Tianji of Jixing Abyss, aided by Yan Xiao, expertly governed her realm. Though Yan Xiao held no formal title, their profound connection promised a lifetime of shared devotion.
In a secluded forest, Fu Yue found solace in a butterfly, convinced that among a million, she could still recognize the unique soul of Situ Ling, transformed. Ming Yi and Ji Bozai celebrated their shared birthday, surrounded by guests and gifts. She Tianlin, fully recovered with a new magical right arm, challenged Ji Bozai to a drinking test to evaluate him as a potential son-in-law. Despite Ming Yi's playful warnings, Ji Bozai heartily accepted.
Later that night, with a feigned drunkenness, Ji Bozai leaned on Ming Yi, tenderly confessing his deep love and desire for an eternal bond, then reiterated his wish to carve their names on the Marriage Stone. Ming Yi, moved by his sincerity, initiated a kiss, accepting his proposal. Ji Bozai, momentarily startled, playfully questioned if his "drunken" confession truly counted as a proposal. Meanwhile, Twenty-Seven and Buxiu, caught eavesdropping, were quickly shooed away by Granny Xun.
The next morning, Ming Yi and Ji Bozai returned to the Marriage Stone. This time, as Ming Yi carved their names, there was no divine punishment, signifying their true, unwavering bond. Ji Bozai released his Radiant Spirit, and together they prayed for an eternal companionship. On the day of the Qingyun Tournament's final round, cultivators from across the Six Realms gathered, buzzing with anticipation. Ming Yi and Ji Bozai, leading their respective warrior groups, stood facing each other.
This year, the competition was not a battle to the death, but a poignant exchange of skill, symbolizing a beautiful vow between them. Ji Bozai extended an invitation, "Fairy Ming Yi, please," to which Ming Yi responded, "Immortal Ji Bozai, please grant me your guidance."
