Situ Ling urgently approached Ming Yi, urging her to leave Sunken Abyss at once. He warned her that Zhushui Spiritual State had a backup plan, and miasmas would soon engulf all of Jixing Abyss. Indeed, scarlet-purple miasmas surged from all directions. The Emperor of Jixing, Mu Yuanfeng, understood that this moment had arrived. He immediately commanded everyone in Jixing Abyss with spiritual veins to unite and resist the toxic invasion.

As the chaos unfolded, Ming Yi keenly sensed Ji Bozai's erratic aura and, without hesitation, leaped forward to block a fatal attack aimed at him. Chao Xuan's subordinate attempted to detonate Sunken Abyss, intending to perish along with everyone present. Ji Bozai and Situ Ling, in a rare display of tacit understanding, teamed up to kill him. However, the miasmas intensified. Seeing this, Mu Yuanfeng sacrificed his own bone and blood, transforming his primordial spirit into the Aranya Array barrier.

He explained that once this array was activated, no divine, demonic, or netherbeast arts could disturb Jixing Abyss for a hundred years, fulfilling the destiny of Jixing Emperors. At once, Sunken Abyss began to violently shake and collapse. Ji Bozai summoned Buxiu, ordering him to escort him and Ming Yi to safety. On their way back, Ji Bozai learned that Ming Yi had been desperately seeking a medical classic to save Ming Xian.

He was both angered and pained by her sacrifice but still ensured her safe return to Jixing Abyss. Witnessing Mu Yuanfeng's divine fall, both Ji Bozai and Ming Yi were filled with a mix of emotions. Meanwhile, Tianji secluded herself, overwhelmed by the grief of losing her father. Yan Xiao delivered Mu Yuanfeng's final message, a solemn request for Yan Xiao to look after Tianji and support her through this most difficult time.

Tianji embraced Yan Xiao, weeping, and he silently comforted her. Soon after, news of Chao Xuan's demise reached Zhushui Spiritual State. Chao Heng immediately ordered his youngest son, Situ Ling, to be brought back. Upon his arrival, Situ Ling was severely punished and then thrown into the Water Prison. Fu Yue rushed to him, distressed to see his injuries, and vowed to plead with Chao Heng. However, Situ Ling remained preoccupied with Ming Yi's safety, disregarding Fu Yue's concern.

Angered, Fu Yue falsely claimed that Ming Yi had succumbed to the poison. Unable to bear his anguish, she eventually confessed the truth: Ming Yi was still alive, and She Tianlin had given her the Medical Classics. To alleviate Situ Ling's suffering, Fu Yue burned her own cultivation. Though Situ Ling recognized her deep affection, he could not reciprocate it. Once his injuries had slightly healed, Situ Ling met with Chao Heng alone.

He openly expressed his desire to develop spiritual veins and offered to find the second part of the Medical Classics for his father. Having lost two other sons, Chao Heng naturally placed all his hopes on his sole surviving son. During their conversation, Chao Heng addressed Situ Ling as "Chao Yuan."

Situ Ling, in turn, presented himself as loyal and ambitious, seeking the Golden Millet Dream and spiritual veins only to uphold Zhushui Spiritual State's honor, not for personal gain, and vowed to bring the Medical Classics to his father. As things settled, Ji Bozai discovered the crossbow artifact Ming Yi carried. Its intricate design indicated it could only be wielded by a warrior. This, coupled with her past unusual behavior, led him to a suspicion.

To confirm his thoughts, Ji Bozai visited Ming Yi, demanding she forge a unique artifact for him in exchange for Ming Xian's Embers. Ming Yi, knowing the dangers of her journey to Zhangwei Mountain, agreed. She retrieved precious divine materials and began forging, hoping the new sword would protect Ji Bozai as faithfully as Embers had protected her.

She Tianlin, observing Ming Yi's selfless devotion to Ji Bozai despite her own perilous circumstances, lamented his sect's misfortune in having such a naive disciple. Ming Yi traveled to Wugui Sea to present the divine sword, "Nirvana," to Ji Bozai. He deliberately dismissed the sword as ordinary, provoking her to demonstrate its power. This confirmed Ji Bozai's suspicion about her true identity.

He pulled Ming Yi into a forceful kiss, then questioned if Ming Xian was truly the only thing separating them. Ming Yi replied that even without Ming Xian, numerous other complicated matters stood between them, before turning and leaving. As the Nirvana divine sword settled in Ji Bozai's hand, it resonated with him, and man and sword became one. Buxiu arrived to report progress on Mu Qibai's Heavenly Grief transaction list.

He had located Sun Liao's former beloved, learning that Mu Qibai's list was not a jade slip but a "Recording Mirror." Buxiu speculated that the fragments previously found beneath the Soul-Consuming Tree might be from this very mirror, and they now needed to find a way to access its contents. He also reported that the Situ clan, though having distanced themselves from Mu Qibai, remained entangled with Zhushui Spiritual State.

Situ Ling's identity was suspicious, as official records were unclear about his birth parents, suggesting his identity might be merely a facade. Ji Bozai instructed Buxiu to discreetly investigate Situ Ling further, expressing his commitment to finding a solution to the complex situation with Ming Yi, even if she were to become his nemesis.

Meanwhile, She Tianlin's attempts to decipher the first part of the Medical Classics proved futile; it was sealed by a secret art that required the second part to reveal its full content. With Ming Yi preparing to depart for Zhangwei Mountain, Situ Ling, now somewhat recovered, began to secretly plot. He intended to lure Ji Bozai to Zhangwei Mountain to help Ming Yi infiltrate the Bo clan's ancestral home, ensuring she could obtain the Golden Millet Dream. He also sent a flying letter to Ji Bozai, setting his plan in motion.
