Xu Qingyou misinterpreted Mo Lingze's current demeanor as provocative and mocking, which angered her further. She sternly warned him that regardless of what occurred that night, it would not happen again, and nothing would ever develop between them. Mo Lingze appeared somewhat hurt. He took a pair of scissors from the bar and cut the rope binding their wrists, allowing Xu Qingyou to leave. Outside the bar, Xu Wei, Xu Qingyou's brother, waited for Fang Qi, concerned about her.
When Fang Qi stumbled out drunkenly, he rushed to support her, pretending it was a chance encounter. Seeing that Fang Qi was being taken care of, Xu Qingyou felt relieved and turned back to confront Mo Lingze. She urged him to forget everything, promptly accepted the hotel fee she had transferred, and hoped to definitively resolve their issue. Mo Lingze realized Xu Qingyou deeply misunderstood him, perhaps seeing him as someone who took advantage of her vulnerability.

At times, she mistook Mo Lingze for Fan Yunxi, hitting and scolding him, and even spraying water all over herself with the faucet.
Mo Lingze was thoroughly put out by her antics. After getting his clothes wet and trying to dry them, she pulled him onto the bed, and he accidentally kissed her. Xu Qingyou finally fell asleep after half a night of commotion, and Mo Lingze left. In reality, nothing intimate had occurred between them. Learning the true circumstances, Xu Qingyou gradually felt more at ease.
The next day, in Mr. Zhai's office, Xu Qingyou unexpectedly met Mo Lingze again, who was an investor. During the promotional video shoot, the male lead unexpectedly canceled. Mo Lingze, seizing the opportunity, harshly teased Xu Qingyou about her earlier comment that he was "too high to meet" and initially refused, stating he was busy with a meeting and doubted if he was her "ideal match" given her lack of faith in him. As Xu Qingyou continued to screen other potential male leads, finding none suitable, Mo Lingze appeared as the sun began to set. To the relief of everyone on set, Mo Lingze readily agreed to shoot.
During a costume change, Xu Qingyou adjusted Mo Lingze's tie and quietly expressed her gratitude. Mo Lingze, however, stated that his time was calculated in money per second and he wouldn't contribute for free. This relieved Xu Qingyou, who preferred to deal with money rather than owe favors. After the shoot concluded, to express her thanks, Xu Qingyou suggested treating Mo Lingze to a meal. He readily accepted.
She took him to her "secret base," a humble street food stall, which she explained was where she and her brother ate as children when their parents were busy. She shared that she finds inspiration there, seeing others working late, which energizes her. During dinner, Mr. Zhai called, demanding that the proposal be finalized that very night.
Meanwhile, Mo Lingze unceremoniously took off his coat and placed it over Xu Qingyou's legs, a considerate gesture given her short skirt, shielding her from the air conditioning and preventing any accidental exposure. Xu Qingyou hung up the phone and looked meaningfully at Mo Lingze. She suddenly found him formidable, directly telling him that his mind was meticulous and impenetrable, and that they were simply not on the same level.
