> Love a Lifetime Recap
Bai Weizhi informs his Master, Bai Su, of his decision to return to Dragon Howl City to save Ziyan, asking for his permission. Rong Hua supports his request, assuring Bai Su that all necessary precautions have been taken for Bai Weizhi's safety. Bai Su, after hearing Rong Hua's description of Ziyan's critical condition, states that Ziyan is likely beyond any remedy, but allows Bai Weizhi to go if he wishes to "bid farewell" to her.
Bai Weizhi reacts with anger, asserting Ziyan will recover and forbids anyone, even his Master, from speaking otherwise. Rong Hua intercedes, reaffirming their resolve to try their utmost, emphasizing Ziyan's familial connection to her and her deep importance to Bai Weizhi. However, Bai Su remains displeased, complaining that their worldly attachments have disrupted his peaceful cultivation, dismissing their emotions as vulgar. He orders them to leave, prompting an angered Bai Weizhi to depart.
Na Lanyue, who had previously warned that Bai Su would not help, points out Ziyan's complicity in the destruction of Lingxu Pavilion. Rong Hua, acknowledging the past, reiterates her commitment to avenge Lingxu Pavilion by eventually taking control of Dragon Howl City and publicly clearing its name. Yet, she pleads with Na Lanyue to spare her father, Rong Jingfeng, and her sister, Rong Su, due to their family ties.
Na Lanyue counters, questioning if Rong Jingfeng ever extended such mercy to Lingxu Pavilion. Changing the subject, Na Lanyue suggests that Rong Hua capitalize on Mei Ying's presence in Tingfeng Town, given his status in Dragon Howl City, an idea Rong Hua agrees with, noting their shared strategy. As Bai Weizhi prepares to leave, he apologizes to Bai Su for his earlier outburst, promising to return and serve him after settling Ziyan's matter.
His senior disciple, Wang Qingzheng, stops him, admonishing his short temper. Wang Qingzheng then reveals that Bai Su had intentionally left a precious Zhenjin Pill for Ziyan. Bai Weizhi is touched by his Master's hidden compassion. Wang Qingzheng then imparts a warning, relaying news from Wang Zhiyuan that Na Lanyue, after Lingxu Pavilion's destruction, had allied with Mo Huan and the Ling Sect in the Northern Wastelands.
Expressing deep suspicion about Na Lanyue's sudden reappearance, Wang Qingzheng cautions Bai Weizhi and Rong Hua to be vigilant, suggesting that revenge can drive people to unexpected alliances, even between former enemies like Na Lanyue and Mo Huan. Mei Ying, receiving an anonymous invitation from the Mei mansion's new owner, attends a banquet alone. Upon entering, he finds a handkerchief bearing the Chihua Pill symbol and succumbs to a hallucinogenic incense, collapsing.
Na Lanyue, Rong Hua, and Cang Qi are revealed to be behind the trap. Na Lanyue comments that Mei Ying's punishment was too light but instructs them to keep him alive for future use. Cang Qi then reports that Xiaoxiao, the master of the Hall of Sickness, has arrived. Rong Hua confirms she was expecting Xiaoxiao.
Na Lanyue sees this as an opportune moment, remarking that Ziyan's death would significantly weaken Dragon Howl City, but reaffirms his promise to Rong Hua that he will protect Ziyan. Cang Qi confirms that Lu Yizhou is already en route, escorting Rong Su to Dragon Howl City, and Na Lanyue declares his intention to rendezvous with them the following day. Rong Hua then meets a relieved Xiaoxiao, who is overjoyed to find her alive.
Rong Hua explains her plan to use the Mei mansion as a base, having anticipated Xiaoxiao would investigate Mei Ying. Xiaoxiao, who has long disliked Mei Ying, expresses her pleasure at his predicament and her renewed confidence now that Rong Hua is back. Later, Rong Hua finds Na Lanyue deep in contemplation. She expresses her apprehension about revealing certain truths, fearing it might irrevocably alter their relationship. Na Lanyue encourages her to speak openly, promising full disclosure.
Rong Hua then confronts him with her suspicions: their encounters at her mother's grave and the Snow Union were not coincidental, and he was the one who punished Mei Ying. She admits her bewilderment over his disappearance and subsequent association with Mo Huan. Na Lanyue, in turn, confesses the full truth: his survival after Lingxu Pavilion's destruction was due to his mother's sacrifice, implanting the Chihua Pill into his body.
He explains that the pill, having undergone three life-and-death cycles, has an even more potent backfiring effect, leaving him no choice but to rely on Mo Huan to sustain his life and allow him to see Rong Hua again. Rong Hua, suspicious of Mo Huan's motives, vows to find a cure to free him from the pill's control. Na Lanyue, however, asserts that the Chihua Pill is beyond normal medical remedies.
He then presents Rong Hua with a heartbreaking request: should he lose control and become a threat to the martial arts world and innocent lives, he wishes her to be the one to end his life. Devastated, Rong Hua vehemently refuses, declaring she cannot live without him. She produces a hairpin, her mother's treasured heirloom, which she had intended as a wedding token, asserting it symbolizes their unbreakable bond and her commitment to face every hardship by his side.
The next morning, Rong Hua wakes to find Na Lanyue gone, the hairpin left on her pillow, understanding his unspoken message. Lu Yizhou, leading Ling Sect disciples, sets off with the captured Rong Su towards Dragon Howl City. Meanwhile, Rong Hua and Bai Weizhi arrive in Tingfeng Town, only to find it besieged by Ling Sect forces, with frightened citizens fleeing in panic.
Rong Hua confronts Na Lanyue, demanding to know if he is responsible for the siege, accusing him of exploiting Ziyan's illness and capturing Rong Su. Na Lanyue confirms his unwavering resolve for revenge against Dragon Howl City but reassures Rong Hua of his promise to ensure Ziyan's safety, instructing Rong Hua to stay in Tingfeng Town. Inside Dragon Howl City, Rong Jingfeng is consumed with worry for Ziyan. Mei Ying, now released and by his side, feigns concern.
Xiaoxiao, acting as a discreet informant, reports Na Lanyue's offer: Ziyan can be brought to the city's outskirts, escorted by Dragon Howl City personnel, where Bai Weizhi will treat her. From there, Na Lanyue himself would take Ziyan to Tingfeng Town. Rong Jingfeng is incensed upon learning Rong Hua is alive and collaborating with Na Lanyue, condemning her as his enemy and suspecting a trap to lure him out.
Xiaoxiao insists on Rong Hua and Bai Weizhi's integrity, even offering to escort Ziyan herself. Mei Ying then volunteers, arguing that as an outsider, his fate at Na Lanyue's hands would be a minimal loss to Dragon Howl City and would allow Rong Jingfeng to focus on defense. Desperate, Rong Jingfeng reluctantly agrees. At Ziyan's side, Rong Hua and Bai Weizhi assess her condition.
Rong Hua laments that even the Zhenjin Pill, administered with Bai Weizhi's internal energy to ease her suffering, will only prolong her life by a few days, as the years of poison have ravaged her body beyond recovery. Bai Weizhi blames his own medical limitations. At this moment, Rong Su, held captive, pleads with Lu Yizhou to see Ziyan one last time, offering to sacrifice a leg as collateral.
Lu Yizhou, recalling his own loss at Dragon Howl City's hands, tests her resolve by proposing a chess game, mirroring their first encounter; if she wins a single piece, she can see Ziyan. Rong Su, understanding the futility and danger, refuses to gamble with her aunt's precious remaining moments. Suddenly, a distorted, ghostly figure resembling Mo Huan during her Command to the Dark Soldiers Skill practice flashes past.
Rong Su recognizes it instantly, realizing Na Lanyue is suffering a severe Chihua Pill backfire. Lu Yizhou immediately gives chase, instructing a subordinate to guard Rong Su. Mei Xueman, seeing the commotion, tries to stop Rong Hua from leaving, explaining Na Lanyue's increasingly uncontrollable state and the dangers outside. Rong Hua, having already pieced together Na Lanyue's worsening condition, instructs Cang Qi to guard Ziyan and departs to find Na Lanyue. Ziyan, waking, asks for Rong Hua.
Bai Weizhi reassures her of Rong Hua's safety. Mei Xueman then rushes in, urging Bai Weizhi to retrieve Rong Hua, who has gone to find Na Lanyue amidst the danger. Ziyan tearfully expresses her desire to see Rong Hua one last time, prompting Bai Weizhi to promise her survival. Ziyan, accepting her fate, extracts a promise from Bai Weizhi to protect Dragon Howl City, Rong Jingfeng, and especially Rong Hua and Rong Su.
Bai Weizhi, despite his contempt for Rong Jingfeng, agrees to Ziyan's dying wish. He then leaves to find Rong Hua, instructing Mei Xueman to stay with Ziyan. Na Lanyue is seen struggling intensely, battling the Chihua Pill's rampant power.
