Burning Flames Episode 8 Recap
> Burning Flames Recap
Zhou Qiao noticed that the A Gou introduced by Chen Jing looked overly familiar. He remembered that A Gou had once burned King Xin's corpse with the remnants of the Xin Kingdom, and at that time, he felt A Gou resembled Wu Geng. For so many years, he had sent people but had never found him. Chen Jing immediately asserted that A Gou was absolutely not Wu Geng, the prince of the Xin Kingdom.
Zhou Qiao was unwilling to let this person go, so Wu Geng had no choice but to admit his "mistake", stating that he had burned King Xin's corpse back then to earn money from the dead. He was willing to stay in the mine for the rest of his life to mine ores for the Immortal Clan as atonement. Under Chen Jing's persuasion, Zhou Qiao finally agreed to spare A Gou.
Wu Geng told everyone that a man-eating monster had appeared in the mine a month ago. Now, everyone in the mine was in a state of panic and did not dare to go out alone. Zhou Qiao stated that he would be learning Qi cultivation techniques in the mine. He volunteered to stay in the mine to investigate the man-eating monster. Chen Jing dispatched Wu Geng to assist Zhou Qiao in investigating this matter.
After Zhou Qiao and Gui Mu left, Chen Jing warned Wu Geng that no matter what he had done outside, now that he was in the North Mountain Mine, he was a slave of the mine, and therefore must fulfill his duty as a slave. Chen Jing only wanted to spend the rest of his life peacefully with his son Zhazha. If anyone disrupted this life, he would not show mercy.
Chen Jing instructed Wu Geng not to offend Zhou Qiao, and furthermore, to remind the young men and women in the mine to avoid the great Gui Mu. Zhou Qiao had originally intended to bring people to search for medicinal herbs for Gui Mu in the mine, but unexpectedly saw the man-eating monster active in the mine. He led people to hunt and kill the man-eating monster but was instead mocked by it.
It turned out that this "man-eating monster" was disguised by Wu Geng, solely to get revenge for being put in a difficult position by Zhou Qiao today. It turned out that the reason Wu Geng had been impersonating the man-eating monster during this period was to use the opportunity to gradually send the slaves in the mine out of the North Mountain Mine, and they had already successfully sent out over a hundred people.
Now that the Immortal Clan people had arrived, Wu Geng knew their trick could not continue to deceive people. To avoid further complications, Wu Geng had Bai Cai, Xiao Shang, and Shi Tou leave overnight. He wanted to stay behind to disrupt the mine so that the people of the Immortal Clan would not bother with the matter of everyone's disappearance. In order to deceive Chen Jing, Wu Geng had Bai Cai stab him.
He came before Chen Jing and stated that he had seen the man-eating monster, and the man-eating monster wanted Chen Jing to close the mine, otherwise, the mine would never have peace. Chen Jing thought about the frequent appearance of the man-eating monster today and speculated that it was related to Gui Mu. Zhazha came pestering Chen Jing about going to catch the man-eating monster.
From Zhazha's words, Wu Geng learned that Zhou Qiao came to the North Mountain Mine to learn Qi cultivation. Chen Jing was worried that Gui Mu would harm his beloved son, so he instructed Zhazha to be sure to hide from Gui Mu. Gui Mu had not consumed any supplements for several consecutive days. Just then, he happened to see Bai Cai's figure and told Zhou Qiao to bring Bai Cai to him for consumption.
Bai Cai treated Wu Geng's wound and felt even more distressed that Wu Geng had harmed himself because of this. Bai Cai solemnly warned Wu Geng not to risk his life in the future when doing things. She gave Wu Geng a heart-protecting stone she had personally polished, hoping it would protect him. Wu Geng, disguised as the man-eating monster, captured Zhazha, who had gone hunting in the mountains. Upon learning this, Chen Jing was burning with anxiety.
Wu Geng knew that Chen Jing could not leave North Mountain due to an Immortal Clan forbidden technique. So, he kidnapped Zhazha outside of North Mountain. Taking this opportunity, Wu Geng gave Zhazha a good lesson and made Zhazha promise to treat slaves kindly in the future. In order to find his beloved son Zhazha, Chen Jing sealed off the mine to search for him.
While Chen Jing was sealing off the mine, Zhou Qiao ordered his men to take Bai Cai away. Zhou Qiao had originally intended to question Bai Cai about whether A Gou was Wu Geng. Bai Cai stated that A Gou was an orphan and that they had been together since childhood.
Zhou Qiao also told Bai Cai that Wu Geng was the son of King Xin, but Bai Cai only explained that A Gou burned King Xin's corpse that day merely for greed. Seeing that he could not get the truth he wanted from Bai Cai, Zhou Qiao knocked Bai Cai unconscious and ordered his men to send her to the secret chamber for Gui Mu to consume.
Wu Geng told the slaves who were sealed in the mine tunnel that the man-eating monster these past few days was him in disguise. He used this method to successfully let many slaves escape. Afterward, Wu Geng, along with Xiao Shang, Shi Tou, and others, led the slaves one by one towards the mine tunnel where the secret passage was located. Bai Cai woke up in front of Gui Mu.
Gui Mu saw that Bai Cai was not afraid of him and praised her courage. Ade told Wu Geng that Bai Cai had been taken away by the prince of the State of Bi. After learning this, Wu Geng hurried back to the mine. Gui Mu had originally intended to kill Bai Cai but unexpectedly discovered the cold poison in her body. He interrogated Bai Cai about what kind of magic she possessed.
At the critical moment, Wu Geng arrived to rescue Bai Cai, led by a small spirit bird. He broke through the door and successfully found Bai Cai. Upon seeing Wu Geng, Bai Cai fiercely cursed Gui Mu, calling him a beast worse than a pig or dog. She said that as a member of the Immortal Clan, he was going mad and eating people. Wu Geng had originally wanted Bai Cai to find an opportunity to leave, but Bai Cai decided to stay and advance and retreat together with Wu Geng.
