Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin, two older youths, are also forced by their parents to get married, advised by friends and relatives, and urged by matchmakers to get married. The misunderstandings of their friends and the obstruction of their parents have made their love face all kinds of bumps in the road.

Episode 1 Recap
Zhao Jin drove Xu Nuo home late at night. Before she exited the car, Zhao Jin apologized for breaking their promise to be friends and for making excuses to see her, even shifting blame onto her. Xu Nuo responded that she felt the same way, acknowledging she had also made unnecessary calls and even made up a ridiculous excuse just now to see him, making her feel even more unreasonable. She also apologized. Xu Nuo expressed gratitude for knowing him, calling him a good person. Zhao Jin disagreed, confessing he currently had a "bad idea" and simply wanted to see her without anyone knowing, asking for nothing else.
Xu Nuo understood his feelings but informed him that she was planning to marry her boyfriend, and it was her decision. Xu Nuo asked if her brother had said something, but the sister denied it. Zhao Jin meticulously cared for Grandma, who praised him for being thoughtful. When asked about his profession, Zhao Jin replied, "I am a vet."
He then admitted to Grandma that he was divorced. Grandma surprisingly said it was "not bad," explaining that "only when you lose it will you cherish it more in the future. It's a good thing." Zhao Jin admitted he regretted the phrase "no matter how far we can go" because they truly don't know the future. Cong Shan expressed suspicion that Peng Yuan might be aware of Xu Nuo's feelings for Zhao Jin, noting Peng Yuan's "weird eyes." Feeling dejected by Xu Nuo's repeated attempts to break up with him, Peng Yuan met with his old bandmates for drinks, reminiscing about their past. Despite their encouragement to play guitar, Peng Yuan claimed he had quit, though he later picked up a guitar, proving he hadn't forgotten how to play.
Meanwhile, Zhao Jin arrived at the flower shop to see Xu Nuo. He saw his sister, Zhao Qin, riding an electric bicycle and immediately scolded her, mistaking it for a motorcycle. Xu Nuo intervened, defending Zhao Qin and explaining that riding the electric bicycle made her happy. Zhao Jin expressed deep concern for Zhao Qin's safety, worrying about her getting cold, a fever, or injured.
Xu Nuo countered that accidents could happen regardless and emphasized that Zhao Qin, having been sheltered due to her illness, needed to experience life and satisfy her curiosity. Following Xu Nuo's advice, Zhao Jin apologized to his sister. He agreed to let her continue, setting the condition that Zhao Qin must stop riding if any accident or illness occurred. Zhao Qin happily accepted and hugged Xu Nuo before going to clean up.
Shortly after, Peng Yuan called Xu Nuo, saying he would be at her shop soon for dinner. Xu Nuo declined his invitation, which Zhao Jin overheard. Zhao Jin then expressed his intention to leave. Xu Nuo revealed that Peng Yuan was on his way and asked Zhao Jin and Zhao Qin to leave through the side door to avoid him.
Zhao Jin became angry, refusing to sneak out and stating he wouldn't let his sister see him in such a "miserable and shameful" state. Xu Nuo explained she simply didn't want Peng Yuan to know Zhao Jin was the reason for their breakup, but Zhao Jin questioned why he couldn't be. Xu Nuo apologized, not wanting to burden him, but Zhao Jin assured her she was no burden and he was willing to share her load.
Zhao Jin then chose to leave with Zhao Qin through the main entrance. As they exited, Peng Yuan arrived and confronted Zhao Jin, asking why he was there and who Zhao Qin was. Zhao Jin simply said he was picking up his sister. Peng Yuan, realizing Zhao Qin worked at Xu Nuo's shop, challenged Zhao Jin. Feeling unwell and wanting to avoid further confrontation, Zhao Jin hurried away with Zhao Qin.
Xu Nuo, witnessing the scene, ran out, ignoring Peng Yuan's calls. She tearfully reaffirmed her breakup with Peng Yuan, telling him she couldn't be with him anymore and asked him to let her go, before running after Zhao Jin. Peng Yuan shouted that she would regret it. Later, Xu Yang arrived at the flower shop and greeted a sullen Peng Yuan, who ignored him. Xu Yang then spoke with Cong Shan, who dismissed him and called all men awful.
They argued, with Cong Shan accusing Xu Yang of clumsiness and Xu Yang asking if she was menopausal. Cong Shan abruptly broke up with him, telling him to lock the shop when he left. Cong Shan then found Xu Nuo crying on the street and offered comfort, putting a coat around her. To console Xu Nuo, Cong Shan fabricated a story about breaking up with Xu Yang, framing it as a test for him.
She advised Xu Nuo to focus on her own problems. That night, Zhao Qin asked Zhao Jin if he lacked confidence, sensing his discomfort earlier. Zhao Jin admitted he didn't want Zhao Qin to be involved or live cautiously because of him, hinting he might sacrifice his relationship with Xu Nuo. Zhao Qin strongly rebuked him, saying she hated being used as an excuse for his sacrifices.

Xu Nuo, speaking with Cong Shan, worried that Zhao Jin was disappointed in her. Zhao Jin found Xu Nuo and asked why she was alone. Xu Nuo explained she had tried to chase him earlier. Zhao Jin apologized for not considering her feelings. Xu Nuo asked if he was still angry, to which he admitted he was, but feared she would use his anger as an excuse to leave. He simply wanted to see her.
He then shared that he had "figured it out" and asked if he was "qualified" to be with her and if she would come to him. When Xu Nuo cried, he gently told her not to try to "solve it with tears again." As they parted, Xu Nuo repeatedly asked if he was still angry.
He assured her he would be fine and that it was enough if she wasn't scared by his anger in the future, retracting a playful comment that she should leave him alone when he's angry. Later, Peng Yuan called a colleague, asking for Zhao Jin's address, which worried Xu Yang, who was present. Cong Shan called Xu Nuo, reporting that Peng Yuan was downstairs near Zhao Jin's place. Xu Nuo correctly deduced that Peng Yuan was looking for Zhao Jin.
Peng Yuan called Zhao Jin, who didn't answer. As Peng Yuan was leaving, Zhao Jin drove up. Peng Yuan got into Zhao Jin's car, insisting they go to another place to talk. Cong Shan called Xu Nuo, reporting that Peng Yuan and Zhao Jin had driven off, wondering if they were going to fight, which intensified Xu Nuo's worry.
At a new location, Zhao Jin candidly told Peng Yuan how he met Xu Nuo when she brought Shi Ran's cat to his pet hospital, and how their paths crossed again. He admitted he couldn't control his feelings for her, even rejecting her offer to be just friends. Peng Yuan accused Zhao Jin of ignoring his relationship with Xu Nuo.
Zhao Jin countered that if he had truly ignored Peng Yuan, he wouldn't have let Peng Yuan find out, and that he wanted Peng Yuan to realize his "thoughts and attitude" toward him were wrong because Peng Yuan "look[s] down on me too much." Zhao Jin further stated that Peng Yuan also ignored Xu Nuo's feelings, which is why she could no longer be with him.
Peng Yuan then warned Zhao Jin to show him respect while he was still calm, implying his previous restraint was merely tolerance. Zhao Jin dared Peng Yuan to fight him, but Peng Yuan opted to make him "lose submissively" rather than resort to violence. Zhao Jin explained he was there to solve his own problems, citing his divorce and family responsibilities as reasons he was ready to "face the world" and warned Peng Yuan not to "mess with me."
They agreed to "wait and see." Later, Peng Yuan found Xu Nuo and asked her to get in his car. He offered to "pretend nothing happened" and "forget everything" if she left Zhao Jin, saying he would now tolerate her mistakes. Xu Nuo firmly refused, asserting she "didn't make a mistake" and was "sincere to Zhao Jin." Peng Yuan insisted there would be "no changes between us" and that she "must forget him too."
Xu Nuo sorrowfully explained that "the fact has happened" and there was "no way to change it." Peng Yuan dismissed her feelings as "sympathy and compassion," claiming she wouldn't be happy with Zhao Jin. Episode 13 Recap
Peng Yuan came to find Xu Nuo, but Xu Nuo still insisted on breaking up. After returning home, Xu Nuo called Zhao Jin. Zhao Jin knew that Peng Yuan went to find Xu Nuo, but he was not anxious. Instead, he understood Xu Nuo's feelings very well and kept waiting for Xu Nuo to call him, because Zhao Jin believed that Xu Nuo and Peng Yuan had a long relationship and needed to digest it slowly.
After separating from Xu Nuo, Peng Yuan also found Cong Shan and told Cong Shan about his visit to Xu Nuo. Peng Yuan believed that he could handle it well if he had some time. After hearing this, Cong Shan felt a little uncomfortable, but she pretended to be comforting Peng Yuan on the surface.
Xu Nuo went home to see her grandmother, and her grandmother also encouraged Xu Nuo to live according to her own ideas, as long as Xu Nuo could live happily. While drinking coffee with Zhao Jin, Xu Nuo suddenly pretended to be very deep and told Zhao Jin that she had caused trouble. Zhao Jin thought Xu Nuo had done something wrong and was prepared to share it with Xu Nuo.
As a result, Xu Nuo suddenly plucked up the courage and took the initiative to admit that she loved Zhao Jin. After hearing this, Zhao Jin walked out of the coffee shop without showing any emotion, and stood outside, shedding tears of excitement. Peng Yuan, because he was depressed, asked his friend and colleague Da Hao to drink with him and complained to his friend about Zhao Jin's actions. Xu Yang also found Shi Ran and took the initiative to admit his mistakes to Shi Ran, and also gave Shi Ran flowers. Later, Peng Yu'an invited Cong Shan to dinner to discuss the rejected project. During the meal, Cong Shan was blunt, admitting she didn't like him that much and only saw him as a suitable partner for her career ambitions. Stating that she couldn't tolerate an ambiguous relationship, she forced him to make a clear choice between her and Xu Nuo.
After being dropped off by Zhao Jin, Xu Nuo was confronted by her mother, who had been waiting outside her apartment. Seeing them together, her mother questioned her, asking, "Why is Zhao Jin here?" , to which Xu Nuo retorted, "Why do you ask the same question as Peng Yu'an?" Tian Muchu later told Zhao Jin that she was single again, implying a desire to reconnect. Zhao Jin clarified that he already had a girlfriend, which only made Tian Muchu more curious to meet her. Meanwhile, at the flower shop, Xiao Qin had a disappointing delivery when a customer threw the bouquet she brought into the trash.
This led to a conversation with Xu Nuo about the feeling of liking someone, where Xiao Qin confessed she had never been in love and was afraid to. To cheer everyone up, Shi Ran suggested a group outing to a haunted house, inviting Xu Yang to join them. During the haunted house activity, Xiao Qin was separated from the group and recruited by the staff. Unafraid, she eagerly joined them as a non-player character (NPC).
The others followed clues that led them to a dance studio, where a disguised Xiao Qin successfully startled them. After the game, another NPC, Xiao Bai, complimented her performance. When he revealed his bald head, Xiao Qin was momentarily startled but also became intrigued by him.
Smitten, Xiao Qin later made a flower arrangement to give to Xiao Bai, only to learn from the haunted house staff that he wasn't an employee but a friend of the owner who was just helping out. Back at the shop, Shi Ran noticed Xiao Qin smiling at her phone and realized she was texting Xiao Bai. With Xu Nuo's encouragement, Shi Ran urged a shy Xiao Qin to ask him out.
Thinking she should update Zhao Jin, Xu Nuo called him. However, Zhao Jin was at Tian Muchu's apartment fixing a broken water pipe and didn't have his phone. Tian Muchu saw Xu Nuo's incoming call and hung up on it before he could see.
Episode 15 Recap
Peng Yuan’s father, Guobin, met with Shan Shan’s father at a restaurant, hoping he would help reconcile Peng Yuan and Shan Shan. Shan Shan’s father, however, declined to interfere, stating that his daughter, ever since she was a child, preferred to handle her own affairs and that he believed young people should resolve their issues independently, adding that “caring too much will lead to chaos.”
He also shared a personal story about his own marriage, emphasizing that "a person can only love one person for a lifetime" and that persistence is the most important aspect of a lasting relationship. Guobin, left with no alternative, could only comply with the advice. Later that evening, Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin, both having the same idea, set out to find each other and coincidentally met at a street corner, sharing a knowing smile.
Meanwhile, Xiao Qin and Xiaobai were on a date. Xiaobai, expressing a desire to make a movie about their relationship, invited Xiao Qin to be his heroine. When Xiao Qin inquired about the ending, Xiaobai admitted he hadn't decided yet, suggesting they would film their meeting today. At home, Peng Yuan sat alone in the dark, drinking heavily. His father, upon returning, tried to take the bottle away, but Peng Yuan clung to it.
His father grew angry at Peng Yuan’s dejected state and urged him to remain at the company, reminding him that legally, as a shareholder, he couldn't be easily removed unless he accepted Shan Shan's conditions. Peng Yuan, however, felt it was pointless to rely on her company and fiercely blamed his father for constantly meddling in his life, shouting that if not for his father's interference, he and Xu Nuo would have been married long ago.
He concluded by expressing his confusion about what he truly wanted, as his life had always been orchestrated by his father. Xu Nuo visited her mother at the laundry shop. Her mother, flustered, tried to hide Xu Nuo’s father, who was also there, making clumsy excuses. Xu Nuo sensed someone was being hidden. Her mother then began to criticize Xu Nuo for ending her long-term relationship with Peng Yuan and dating Zhao Jin.
Annoyed, Xu Nuo walked out, but then returned to find both her parents. She calmly revealed that she had known her father was back all along but chose to pretend otherwise, stating, “This is your business. I can understand. I hope that you can understand me too.” Zhao Jin’s colleague, Sister Hong, reiterated her desire to meet Xu Nuo over dinner.
Xu Nuo, still troubled by her parents' situation and fearing her father's past gambling habits might harm her mother again, felt uneasy. When Zhao Jin called to invite her to dinner, Xu Nuo decided to bring Shi Ran along for support. While at the flower shop, Xu Nuo discussed her father’s return with Shi Ran. Shi Ran argued that true love makes one’s heart beat faster, contrasting it with the slower rhythm of habit. She then confessed her own heart beat faster because of Xu Yang and joked about him not daring to propose.
That evening, the four of them — Zhao Jin, Xu Nuo, Sister Hong, and Shi Ran — met for dinner. Shi Ran, acting as the self-appointed host, proposed a formal introduction, including family status, relationships, income, assets, and even "weird little hobbies." Sister Hong introduced Zhao Jin, highlighting his good looks and skills but also his habit of lending money he couldn't retrieve and his inability to refuse requests, including from friends like Xu Yang and even pet clients.
Shi Ran then introduced Xu Nuo as appearing gentle but being fiercely powerful and impersonal when angered, recounting a time Xu Nuo made her cry. Xu Nuo then directly asked Zhao Jin if he still liked her despite her tough nature, to which he affirmed, adding that her gentleness towards him was what mattered. The next day, Peng Yuan sought out his former company leader, Mr. Chen, hoping to return to his old job.
Mr. Chen reminded him that he had resigned and his position had been filled after much effort. He told Peng Yuan that if he wanted to come back, he would have to start as an ordinary new employee. Peng Yuan, indignant at the suggestion, left the meeting frustrated and subsequently called Shan Shan. Meanwhile, at the boxing gym, Shi Ran watched Xu Yang teach a female student Jiu-Jitsu, becoming visibly jealous of their physical closeness during practice.
She confronted Xu Yang, accusing the student of having impure intentions and demanding he stop teaching her. Xu Yang defended his teaching methods, explaining the necessity of physical contact in Jiu-Jitsu. Shi Ran, in a fit of pique, offered to buy all his lessons so he would only teach her, but Xu Yang dismissed her, jokingly telling her to visit less often or he wouldn't be able to work. Shi Ran, still fuming, murmured to herself about the woman’s intentions.
Tian Muchu once again arrived at Zhao Jin's pet shop, but Sister Hong intercepted her at the door, preventing her from seeing Zhao Jin. Sister Hong directly told Tian Muchu that Zhao Jin had a girlfriend and that her frequent visits were inconsiderate. Tian Muchu claimed she had no ill intentions and just needed Zhao Jin's help.
After Tian Muchu left, Sister Hong warned Zhao Jin to keep Tian Muchu's return and his visits to her house a secret from Xu Nuo, fearing it would create "knots in her heart" even if nothing was happening. Zhao Jin agreed to this. Shortly after, Tian Muchu texted Zhao Jin, asking him to pick up their child, Shitou, because "something happened." Zhao Jin agreed. Xiaobai took Xiao Qin to the beach.
Xiao Qin revealed she had seen him at the hospital before. Xiaobai then shared that he knew about Xiao Qin's illness, prompting Xiao Qin to reveal she also had a tumor in her head, adding that "it's hard to say" if she was okay. She also mentioned her parents were divorced. Xiaobai reiterated his desire to film a movie to capture all the beautiful things around them, including the sea, the sunset, and their time together.
Zhao Jin picked up Shitou from school, happily playing and jumping with him on the street. Shi Ran, driving by, witnessed them and looked concerned. Back at the flower shop, Shi Ran paced nervously around Xu Nuo, trying to find the right words to tell her what she had seen. She referenced the language of iris flowers ("Once loved") and then, frustrated by her own indecision, blurted out that being friends with Xu Nuo made her irresolute and annoyed.
At her mother’s home, Xu Nuo’s mother discovered a loan repayment text message on her father's phone, confirming her suspicion that he was gambling again. When confronted, he denied it, claiming he was determined to change. Later, Tian Muchu visited Xu Nuo’s father to perform moxibustion for his back pain and also confided in Xu Nuo’s mother about her suspicions of his gambling.
Xu Nuo’s mother confessed that she couldn't abandon him despite his flaws and was determined to help him improve, a lesson she learned from her past divorce.
