In Blossom Episode 26 Recap
> In Blossom Recap
Yang Caiwei's trust in Pan Yue gave her the courage to defy the Princess, but she didn't expect the Princess to actually poison the wine and demand she drink it to take a walk down to the underworld. Yang Caiwei grabbed the cup and drank it in one gulp. It was a test. The Princess, being a righteous person, would never truly poison someone. She laughed heartily.
She had always been curious about what kind of person could win Pan Yue’s favor. Now that she met Yang Caiwei, she even envied him for having her. After picking up Yang Caiwei, the Princess took her to see Pan Yue, using the opportunity to ditch Lord Sun from the Ministry of Rites. However, Bai Xiaosheng saw them getting into the carriage together, leading to a misunderstanding. Even one day apart felt like years to Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei.
The Princess teased them, and Pan Yue explained the songstress situation—they had to find the true mastermind quickly. Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei met Qing Di at the location she had given them. The dancers were performing the Cloud Dance, and Qing Di arranged for Yun’er to coordinate with Pan Yue from the inside.
Yang Caiwei worried that being seen with Pan Yue would cause rumors, but he took her to a special place—the peach blossom grove they used to visit as children, their secret base. Yang Caiwei carved their names into a tree, claiming the grove as their own. Over the years, Pan Yue had tended to it, remembering their childhood promise. They didn’t want to deceive Shangguan Lan any longer. When Pan Yue took Yang Caiwei home, Shangguan Lan saw their closeness.
Seeing this, Yang Caiwei signaled Pan Yue with her eyes to let Shangguan Lan speak first. Shangguan Lan couldn’t hold it in and questioned why Pan Yue was entangled with Yang Caiwei while dreaming of being the Princess’s husband. Yang Caiwei hurried to say she had let go, but in Shangguan Lan’s eyes, she had sacrificed her happiness for Pan Yue. He forced Pan Yue to give Yang Caiwei an answer.
Pan Yue promised to break off the engagement with the Princess before the fifteenth and give Shangguan Lan a satisfactory explanation. Late at night, Zhuo Lanjiang killed the person he was told to and left behind only a young child. Bai Xiaosheng, worried when he didn’t return, went out to find him and saw him drinking alone. She sat beside him and ordered wine. Though Zhuo Lanjiang kept things bottled up, Bai Xiaosheng asked no questions—she simply stayed with him.
They drank a lot. Zhuo Lanjiang carried Bai Xiaosheng home on his back. She noticed a wound on his shoulder and quickly applied medicine. After drinking, the close proximity made their hearts race. Zhuo Lanjiang no longer held back and kissed Bai Xiaosheng. Only when she was with him did he feel human. The next morning, Zhuo Lanjiang awoke beside her and instinctively sat up, while Bai Xiaosheng pretended to still be asleep.
As soon as he stepped out, Zhuo Lanjiang was approached by a man who said the master agreed to meet him—he would be picked up by carriage in three days. Bai Xiaosheng saw this and warned Zhuo Lanjiang to be careful—the man didn’t seem trustworthy. Zhuo Lanjiang tried to explain what had happened between them, but Bai Xiaosheng dismissed it as mutual consent—nothing to worry about. Yet she still threw herself into his arms.
He was doing dangerous things, but no matter what, Bai Xiaosheng would stay by his side. Madam Wan came to select dancers but rejected Yun’er, which infuriated Qing Di. Qing Di could trust none of the others. Yang Caiwei decided to take the stage herself. Previously, at the morgue, she had thought of a trick to appear as if floating in mid-air to scare off grave robbers. She would use the same trick this time.
Pan Yue was worried about her safety, but in the end, he chose to respect her decision. In the following days, Yang Caiwei stayed with Qingdi to practice the dance, but she fell dozens of times in just one night. Since Yunshang's death, Qingdi had been unwilling to perform this dance again. The only reason she agreed to teach Yun'er was because of her resemblance to Yunshang in the eyes and brows. Determined to bring them justice, Yang Caiwei practiced even harder.
