In Blossom Episode 24 Recap
> In Blossom Recap
The master told them about the Celestial Master's resurrection case. The deaths of the victims were all different, and although the master investigated thoroughly, it was not recorded in the official files. The magistrate at the time wanted to close the case hastily and did not believe the master's words. The eighth victim was Miss Shang, and she died in the most miserable and painful way. The master concluded that their deaths were related to Lu Aige.
He had secretly visited Lu Aige's grave and discovered the body, but that day he was discovered by Xue Jianli. Everything seemed to be connected to Xue Jianli, so Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei went to Luoyun Sect, where many people had gathered—Xue Jianli had many followers. Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei had no choice but to pose as a married couple to gather information and took the opportunity to approach Xue Jianli.
Yang Caiwei found Xue Jianli to be eerie and felt that he carried a strange scent. The two settled temporarily in Luoyun Sect. Pan Yue, knowing that Yang Caiwei's body turned cold at night, skillfully massaged her acupoints. Suddenly, someone flashed past the door, warning that no one was allowed to go out at night in Luoyun Sect. Late at night, Pan Yue investigated Luoyun Sect and discovered a mind-controlling Dream Incense in Xue Jianli’s room.
There was also a secret chamber from which chanting could be heard. Zhuo Lanjiang was constantly startled awake by nightmares and would find Bai Xiaosheng beside him. She had rented the east wing of the courtyard, much to Zhuo Lanjiang’s helplessness. Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei tried everything to get into Xue Jianli’s room. Yang Caiwei decided to distract Xue Jianli to give Pan Yue the chance to enter.
Xue Jianli initially didn’t want to speak much with Yang Caiwei until she said her elder sister was a victim of the Celestial Master case. Only then did he speak a bit more, but eventually handed Yang Caiwei over to his followers. Inside the secret chamber, Pan Yue saw a woman who called Xue Jianli "Master" and wished to die—she was Lu Aige. She had not died.
Pan Yue hid in a corner and saw Lu Aige viciously bite Xue Jianli. He then fed her a pill, after which she became docile like a puppet. Suddenly, someone shouted outside that there was a fire. Xue Jianli went to check, and Pan Yue used the chance to take Lu Aige away. By the time Xue Jianli noticed Lu Aige was missing, it was too late.
Lu Aige regained consciousness halfway and begged Pan Yue to take her away—she no longer wanted to be imprisoned. Pan Yue suspected that Xue Jianli and Lu Aige had more than a master-disciple relationship. Lu Aige confessed that he had once been the person she loved most. She had joined Luoyun Sect after a fleeting encounter, and their feelings gradually deepened. She even changed her name.
But when she confessed her feelings, Xue Jianli rejected her due to their master-disciple relationship. Lu Aige was undeterred and found a healing method for him, but the method involved murder and sacrificial offerings, which went against the natural order. They had agreed never to do such a thing. However, Xue Jianli staged her death and shifted all suspicion onto her. Lu Aige decided to live out her days in anonymity.
Yang Caiwei then asked Ling Er to take her away. However, after Lu Aige left, Yang Caiwei and Pan Yue noticed inconsistencies in her story. Xue Jianli had even warned her not to use methods against the natural order. Ling Er had already been tied up—Lu Aige intended to continue the sacrifices. Xue Jianli arrived in time to stop her. It had always been Lu Aige who committed the murders—all for Xue Jianli.
But when she realized he felt nothing for her, she only wanted to kill him. Unexpectedly, Xue Jianli willingly threw himself onto Lu Aige’s sword. If he truly had no feelings, why would he allow her to use that name? Xue Jianli died by Lu Aige's hand. Still obsessed with eternal life, Lu Aige staggered to draw talismans but, upon seeing Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei, realized there was no way out and committed suicide beside Xue Jianli.
Since the incident with Ling Er, Aze had been staying by her side, afraid something might happen. Lu Aige had only killed four people—the remaining four were killed by a copycat. Upon autopsy, Yang Caiwei found a coin in the victim's mouth, suggesting a link to Baihua Palace. The palace's songstresses all die with a coin in their mouths, hoping for a better next life. They went to Baihua Palace, asking Qing Di to reveal everything she knew.
It turned out that Miss Shang was once a songstress at Baihua Palace and had a sister-like bond with Qing Di. Every year, the palace would send a group of songstresses to the capital, and that year she was chosen. Full of hope for a better life, she didn't expect they would secretly return after discovering a letter showing a corrupt official's collusion with an enemy nation. They had to go into hiding.
Miss Shang had written a letter to Yang Caiwei’s father to expose them, hoping he could bring them down. But it led to the massacre of Yang Caiwei’s family, and the women could only continue to hide. One by one, the remaining three were killed. Miss Shang was terrified but didn’t want to implicate Qing Di. Since then, Qing Di sent songstresses to the capital every year to avoid suspicion. Pan Yue and Yang Caiwei decided to go to the capital with her.
