The Realm Guardians, under Qin Chu's leadership, had successfully evacuated all Ice Tribe citizens from the City of Bladed Snow to the Mortal Realm to ensure their safety. The Ice King speculated that Fire King intended a final, decisive battle with the Ice Tribe, noting that Fire King would not have retreated so easily in their previous encounter had the Mermaid Tribe not intervened.
A Mermaid Guardian then arrived, gravely reporting that the Mermaid Saint and many elders had been defeated by Fire King, their vital energies stolen. The guardian appealed to the Ice Tribe to avenge the Mermaid Tribe. In response, the Ice King issued a solemn decree: the Ice and Fire Tribes would engage in a battle to the death the following morning.
As the Ice Tribe braced for the impending battle, Die Che expressed concern over Fire King's magic, which she found as terrifying as Yuan Ji's, especially his ability to steal vital energies. Xing Jiu, despite the uncertainty, felt his life had been worthwhile. Huang Tuo echoed this sentiment, finding comfort in simply being with Yue Shen, even in death. Yue Shen, in an uncharacteristic display of tenderness, urged Huang Tuo to survive, promising to marry him if he returned victorious.
Meanwhile, Ka Suo walked across the vast snowy landscape, his mind replaying the Hidden Lotus's unsettling offer. He grappled with the impossible choice of sacrificing lives to restore Ying Kong Shi, Li Luo, and Lan Shang's original fates. On the battlefield, Xing Jiu and his companions discovered the Mermaid Saint, now a mere shell with no vital energy. Fire King appeared, declaring this the consequence of opposing him and demanding their surrender. The Ice Tribe warriors, however, chose to fight.
He easily defeated Yue Shen and captured Chao Ya, attempting to coerce her into killing Die Che. Die Che, however, bravely intervened, sacrificing herself to save Chao Ya. Fire King, ruthless, proceeded to absorb the vital energies of both Chao Ya and Die Che, mercilessly killing them. Yue Shen was severely wounded. Huang Tuo attempted to use the Ultimate Injury Exchange to transfer her pain, but Fire King taunted him, saying he could only exchange pain, not save her life.
Yue Shen, sensing her end, confessed her feelings for Huang Tuo. Huang Tuo, touched by her words, declared that hearing her confession was enough for him, and used an Exchange of Injuries Spell to transfer all of Yue Shen's wounds to himself. Fire King absorbed their vital energies, killing both Yue Shen and Huang Tuo. Xing Jiu manipulated illusionary techniques, attempting to control Fire King, but Fire King's strength was beyond measure due to the vital energies he had devoured.
When Fire King asked if he was afraid, Xing Jiu retorted that Fire King should be, explaining that only five of them came because the Ice King had evacuated all tribesmen of the Ice Tribe and Divine Snow Mountain to the Mortal Realm. Their purpose, he declared, was to prevent Fire King from indiscriminately killing the innocent, asserting that Fire King's demise would come upon Ka Suo's return.
As Fire King moved to take Xing Jiu's vital energy, Ka Suo's spirit animal, the Snow Lion, appeared, brought by the Ice King. The Ice King reassured Xing Jiu, stating his confidence in Ka Suo having such friends, and then declared himself Fire King's final opponent, ready to settle their long-standing conflict. Fire King absorbed the Ice King's vital energy, but soon, a horrific pain seized him.
Xing Jiu realized with dread that the Ice King, like himself, had fused his vital energy with the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal to achieve a mutual destruction. The Six-Leaf Ice Crystal pierced Fire King, who shrieked in agony. Ka Suo returned to the Hidden Lotus, still tormented by the choice.
The Hidden Lotus pressed him to select three lives from Chao Ya, Die Che, Huang Tuo, Yue Shen, Xing Jiu, and his beloved Ice King, claiming their lives were insignificant compared to his brother and women. Ka Suo finally declared that the Hidden Lotus was not a wish-granting deity, but a mirror reflecting human ugliness and desires.
He refused to sacrifice anyone's life for his personal wishes, vowing instead to use his sincere love to awaken Ying Kong Shi, Li Luo, and Lan Shang. He resolved to accept any outcome, even failure. The Hidden Lotus, having waited for billions of years, smiled, acknowledging that a being had finally comprehended its true meaning.
Meanwhile, Yan Da, in the Fire Tribe, mourned her brothers, realizing they had been cruelly killed by their own father, Fire King, not on the battlefield. She pleaded with the Fire Tribe ancestors for limitless power to save her tribe. A chilling voice responded, proclaiming that anyone who kills a god must be killed by a god, and that Fire King's tyranny would result in the Fire Tribe being punished for 10,000 years.
Yan Da cried out in anguish, insisting that Fire King's actions should not condemn the innocent Fire Tribesmen, offering her own life as a sacrifice. Ka Suo finally returned to the Ice Tribe, only to be met with the devastating sight of his friends' lifeless bodies: Yue Shen, Die Che, Chao Ya, and Huang Tuo. He gently closed their eyes, tears streaming down his face as memories of their loyalty and camaraderie flooded his mind.
He then approached his father, the Ice King, and wept bitterly. Overwhelmed with grief, Ka Suo demanded to know who was responsible for such destruction. He found Xing Jiu unconscious nearby and revived him. Xing Jiu explained that Fire King had gone mad, using Li Luo and Lan Shang to blackmail the Mermaid Tribe, and had swallowed the Holy Fire, absorbing vital energies indiscriminately.
He recounted how the Ice King had evacuated the tribesmen and then encased the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal within his vital energy, sacrificing himself to destroy Fire King from within and prevent further chaos. Ka Suo anxiously inquired about Li Luo and Lan Shang, confident that Ying Kong Shi would not have allowed Fire King to harm them before his return. Xing Jiu informed him that Fire King's dispersed vital energy had headed towards the City of Bladed Snow.
Ka Suo instructed the Snow Lion to take Xing Jiu to the Forest of Snow and Fog to find Grandma, as he resolved to confront Fire King, heedless of Xing Jiu's warning to proceed with caution against the now insane Fire King.
