Li Luo wrapped Huang Tuo in bandages, falsely claiming he was injured by sulfur, and helped him sneak out of the city. Li Luo wondered why Huang Tuo would abandon his father and entire tribe for a woman he had only met once. Just then, Yue Shen arrived, pursuing them. Huang Tuo immediately recognized Yue Shen as the woman he loved. Huang Tuo and Yue Shen spoke privately.
Huang Tuo recalled an incident a year prior on Painted Cloud Mountain when he was gathering rare herbs. He had found a sheep injured by wolves and was bandaging it, only to attract a pack of wolves. Just as he worried about what to do, Yue Shen appeared. She saved him from the wolves but chided him for interfering with nature's course, emphasizing that all life has its place and humans should not arrogantly interfere under the guise of mercy.
Huang Tuo explained that her words had profoundly changed his understanding of medicine, making him realize the importance of empathy. Yue Shen, however, ignored his reminiscence and focused on her sister Yue Zhao. She revealed that Yue Zhao was his fiancée and expressed her anger, asking why he would prefer death over marrying her sister. Huang Tuo confessed that he had already given his heart to another girl, who was in fact Yue Shen herself.
Ka Suo intervened, revealing Huang Tuo's true feelings to Yue Shen, but she, still hurt by his perceived rejection of her sister, declared she hated him. Disheartened, Huang Tuo felt he had no reason to escape anymore and agreed to follow his father's arrangements. Before Ka Suo and Li Luo could respond, the Tribe Chief's soldiers arrived and took everyone back. Back at the Healer Tribe, the Tribe Chief ordered Huang Tuo to proceed with the marriage to Yue Zhao.
Huang Tuo, heartbroken by Yue Shen's words, resignedly agreed to his father's arrangements. Li Luo spoke up for Huang Tuo, urging him to follow his heart. At that moment, Princess Yan Da arrived with her attendant, Yun Fei. She dramatically announced Ka Suo's identity as the Ice Tribe prince, a traitor the Fire King sought, and demanded that the Healer Tribe show their loyalty by apprehending him.
Ka Suo disregarded Yan Da's provocation, stating he only wanted to know his brother Ying Kong Shi's whereabouts. Yan Da was eager to fight, but just as a battle seemed imminent, Yun Fei subtly slipped a token into Ka Suo's clothing. The confrontation was interrupted by an urgent message that Yue Zhao had fallen ill.
Yan Da then revealed that Yue Zhao was poisoned with the "Lifetime in Three Days Herb" from the divine realm, a potent poison that causes death within three days. She then proposed that the ancient Six-Leaf Ice Crystal could be the antidote, but the Tribe Chief maintained that the Ice Crystal had been lost for many years. Yue Shen, determined to save her sister, decided to find the poisoner and force them to surrender the antidote.
Yue Shen recalled encountering a house servant carrying soup before leaving her sister's room that day, though she hadn't seen their face. She realized that people's appearances change easily, but their scent does not, and as a Li Healer, her sense of smell was particularly acute. Following a distinct cherry blossom scent, Yue Shen confronted Yun Fei, accusing him of being the poisoner.
Ka Suo intervened when Yue Shen raised a poisoned needle, intending to inflict the same pain on Yun Fei. Huang Tuo, considering the friendly relations between the Fire and Healer Tribes, suggested keeping Yun Fei within the Healer Tribe as a guest while they investigated the truth, a proposal everyone reluctantly agreed to. Later, Yan Da gave Yun Fei a Heart-Burning Fruit, explaining that if he ever betrayed her, he would suffer immense pain for the rest of his life.
She then instructed him to deliver a bowl of soup to Yue Zhao, planning to use Yue Zhao's illness to force the Tribe Chief to hand over the Ice Crystal. To Yun Fei's surprise, he found himself able to use ice magic. Ka Suo and Li Luo, after investigating, realized that everything was Yan Da's elaborate scheme to obtain the Ice Crystal. They worried that the Tribe Chief might succumb to the pressure and hand it over.
Yue Zhao's condition showed no improvement, prompting Yue Shen to demand the Tribe Chief reveal the Ice Crystal's location. The Tribe Chief recounted a long story: eighteen years ago, the Rat Demon rampaged through the Healer Tribe, causing a deadly plague. To save his people, the previous Chief exchanged the Ice Crystal with the Rat Demon for a promise that it would never harm their tribe again.
As Ka Suo prepared to search for the Rat Demon, cherry blossoms drifted around him. Remembering the token Yun Fei had given him, Ka Suo opened it to find a lock of hair. He recognized it as Ying Kong Shi's by its scent. Following the trail of cherry blossoms, Ka Suo found Ying Kong Shi. The brothers were overjoyed to reunite.
Ying Kong Shi explained that after Yan Da captured him, his body underwent a strange transformation, causing him to grow rapidly and acquire new magical abilities. Ka Suo became concerned when Ying Kong Shi mentioned being poisoned by the Heart-Burning Fruit, a deadly poison for which only the Fire Tribe possessed the antidote. Realizing that Ying Kong Shi needed to remain undercover to find the antidote, Ka Suo crafted an identical ice key, allowing Ying Kong Shi to move freely.
Ka Suo and Li Luo caught up with Yue Shen and explained that Ying Kong Shi, under Yan Da's coercion, had poisoned Yue Zhao. Yue Shen, understanding the circumstances, agreed to cooperate with them. Unexpectedly, Huang Tuo appeared, insisting on joining them to find the Rat Demon, arguing that finding the crystal was a way to protect Yue Zhao. Yan Da, anticipating Ka Suo's move, followed with her troops. As Ka Suo's group ventured deeper, they encountered a thick fog.
After passing through it, they discovered a giant ganoderma, which, upon touch, unleashed several spheres of black mist. Ka Suo used his magic to clear a path. When Huang Tuo, unskilled in combat, struggled to avoid the attacks, Yue Shen protected him and was injured by the black mist. As the fog intensified, Ka Suo conjured a barrier to shield everyone. To heal Yue Shen, Huang Tuo and Ka Suo went to search for antidotal herbs.
Meanwhile, a villager approached the remaining Yue Shen and Li Luo, warning them that the Rat Demon would soon be active and urged them to seek shelter in a nearby cave. Li Luo, seeing Yue Shen's injury, decided to accompany the villager to the cave.
