As Chao Ya sat mourning at Liao Jian’s grave, Pian Feng stumbled towards her, his vital energy rapidly depleting with every step. He managed to hand her a detailed design, explaining that by following its instructions, she could craft the Earth-Sky Shatterer into a pair of gloves. He said wearing them would be like having Liao Jian by her side, protecting her.

Apologizing that he couldn’t stay with Ka Suo until the end, Pian Feng collapsed and died, leaving Chao Ya distraught and questioning why another loved one had left her. Back at the inn, Huang Tuo examined Pian Feng, discovering he had been poisoned by something called Entropy Demon.

This slow-acting poison, administered via a tiny needle to his chest, took about seven days to show its effects, leading Huang Tuo to surmise that Pian Feng was poisoned by the Western Guardian when they first entered Divine Snow Mountain. Ka Suo, troubled by this revelation, hesitated to share his own suspicions. Chao Ya pressed him, asking if he believed the Western Guardian was not the killer, emphasizing her determination to avenge Liao Jian and Pian Feng.

Ka Suo confided in her, asking her to keep it a secret. He revealed that Prince Shang Lie had warned him the Western Guardian was among their companions. When Ka Suo asked who among them was best at assassinations, Chao Ya immediately identified Yue Shen. Unbeknownst to them, their conversation was overheard by a small bird.

Later, the bird transformed into a man and reported to Phoenix that Ka Suo's group had met Crown Prince Shang Lie and now believed the Western Guardian was among them. Phoenix, with a cold smirk, handed the man a silver needle, instructing him to use it to poison someone and frame Yue Shen. The next morning at the inn, Huang Tuo brought breakfast for everyone.

As he reached for a bun, Ka Suo stopped him, asking if he shouldn't check it for poison first. Huang Tuo, trusting Yue Shen, who had personally prepared the meal, dismissed the idea. Yue Shen assured them that she had tested all ingredients and never left the food unattended. However, Chao Ya silently grabbed a white mouse and fed it some crumbs from a bun; moments later, the mouse convulsed and died.

Yue Shen was shocked, wondering how the Western Guardian could have managed to poison the food despite her vigilance. Huang Tuo then asked if she had checked her poisoning needles. Yue Shen, upon inspection, realized it wasn't her own needle, but one that had been swapped. Chao Ya then coldly accused Yue Shen of being a "thief calling others a thief," implying Yue Shen was the true culprit.

She further pressed Yue Shen, suggesting she was either bribed by the Western Guardian or was the Western Guardian in disguise. Chao Ya pointed out Yue Shen's sudden shift in attitude towards Huang Tuo, from being cold to overly kind, as a manipulation tactic. As Chao Ya escalated her accusations, she launched an attack, demanding Yue Shen's life for Liao Jian and Pian Feng.

Huang Tuo urged Ka Suo to intervene, but Ka Suo reminded him of his promise to Chao Ya to let her have her revenge. Seeing Yue Shen falter under Chao Ya’s fierce assault, Huang Tuo could no longer stand by. He shielded Yue Shen from a fatal blow, taking the full force of Chao Ya's attack and collapsing, severely wounded.

As Huang Tuo lay dying, Yue Shen, her eyes brimming with tears, asked him why he saved her if he didn't trust her. Huang Tuo confessed his deep affection, saying he would trust her if she claimed innocence, and would even accept a lie. He expressed his desire to be her hero just this once, to protect her properly, before he breathed his last in her arms.

Overcome with grief and rage, Yue Shen furiously attacked Chao Ya, killing her swiftly. Then, turning to Ka Suo, she declared her unwavering loyalty, stating she had long ago given her life to him. Since he now doubted her, she would prove her innocence with her death. With that, she took her own life. Ka Suo stared at the fallen bodies of Huang Tuo, Chao Ya, and Yue Shen, overwhelmed with self-reproach.

He lamented his own suspicions and believed he was unfit to be their king. In City of Bladed Snow, Xing Jiu awoke from a nightmare, disbelieving its contents and muttering, "That can't be. How is it like this?" Meanwhile, in Divine Snow Mountain, Ka Suo walked alone until he encountered Xing Gui, clad in black, radiating a powerful aura. She inquired about his well-being.

Ka Suo, astonished, asked why she was alive, recalling her supposed death at Northern Guardian Xing Zhou's hands. Xing Gui chuckled, mockingly asking if he thought Xing Zhou's weak powers could kill her. She then dramatically revealed herself as the Western Guardian Ka Suo had been searching for. Ka Suo struggled to accept this truth. Xing Gui then told him it was time to open the third dream sphere she had given him.

Within the dream, Xing Gui relived her past. She foresaw Xing Jiu's grave injury and resolved to go to Divine Snow Mountain to save him. She obtained a teardrop charm from the Mermaid Tribe, but then encountered Yuan Ji, who she recognized as the black fog from her dreams.

Yuan Ji acknowledged her as the most powerful dream seeker in the Three Realms and offered to change Xing Jiu's fate if she became his strongest guardian, utilizing her ability to see the future. Initially, Xing Gui refused, calling him the enemy. But Yuan Ji pressed her, detailing Xing Jiu's severe injuries and impending death, and reminding her she had sought the teardrop charm.

He offered a contract: he would save Xing Jiu and allow him to recover, and Ka Suo would not die, only needing to submit to Yuan Ji. After an intense internal struggle, desperate to save her brother, Xing Gui agreed to become Yuan Ji's Western Guardian. Awakening from the dream, Ka Suo told Xing Gui that her actions were wrong and her brother would never approve.

Xing Gui, however, insisted that Yuan Ji's powers were immeasurable, and with Liao Jian and Pian Feng already dead (as she believed), Ka Suo couldn't save Xing Jiu. She urged him to surrender to Lord Yuan Ji, claiming that both Huang Tuo and Yue Shen had also died opposing him. She then attacked Ka Suo. To her shock, Yue Shen, Huang Tuo, and Chao Ya suddenly appeared, alive.

They revealed that their "deaths" were a ruse, learned from Xing Gui's own tactics, orchestrated by Ka Suo using a snowstorm to hide their movements, all to expose her. Xing Gui admitted she had underestimated him. Ka Suo then appealed to Xing Gui, questioning why she never harmed them despite ample opportunities and instead helped them overcome challenges, concluding that her true nature was kind. He urged her to turn away from Yuan Ji.

Xing Gui sadly replied that it was "too late." "The fall of a star cannot be reversed. It's destined to self-destruct and destroy everything around it." She once again urged them all, including her brother, to surrender to Lord Yuan Ji to save their lives. Ka Suo, deeply troubled, asked, "Xing Gui, must you really do this?"

Xing Gui lowered her head, admitting her desire to be his true companion, but sorrowfully stating she had "already sold my soul to Yuan Ji. I can't undo what I did." At that moment, Xing Jiu appeared and cried out, "Xing Gui, stop!" Xing Gui gasped, "Brother!" Xing Jiu, looking at his sister, explained that he had dreamed of their hearts no longer being connected, which he now understood was because she had become Yuan Ji's Western Guardian.

Xing Gui tearfully tried to explain that it was Yuan Ji's condition to save him, and she only wanted to protect him and live with him for a long, long time. But Xing Jiu countered, "But you betrayed His Majesty." Xing Gui desperately asked if he would forgive her. Xing Jiu, with a pained expression, turned away, saying he wouldn't.

He declared that while Xing Gui was the person he cared about most, Prince Ka Suo was the one he most respected, and he would not allow anyone to harm him. He asked Xing Gui if she could not hear the sounds of the departed spirits walking across the sky at night. Then, with resolute eyes fixed on Ka Suo, he urged, "Your Majesty, please take action." Ka Suo hesitated, reminded that she was Xing Jiu’s sister.

Tears streamed down Xing Jiu's face as he described his sister, Xing Gui, as a kind and simple girl, but lamented, "Sadly, she passed away on her 100th birthday. She is already dead in my heart." Heartbroken and despairing, Xing Gui cried that if she had known her brother would never forgive her, she would have preferred to die at 100, or even before coming of age, so he would never hate her. With that, she took her own life.

Xing Jiu rushed to her side, embracing her body, and sobbed uncontrollably. With her last breath, Xing Gui whispered apologies to her brother and Ka Suo before her body vanished into the void. As Xing Gui's physical form disappeared, the companions finally reached the true Divine Snow Mountain.

In the Eternal Lotus Pond, Yuan Ji poured vital energy from a bottle onto the Hidden Lotus, declaring that it was the best nutrient and that the deaths of many had nourished it, making their sacrifices worthwhile. Phoenix reported Xing Gui's failure and Ka Suo's group's arrival at the Sky Palace. Yuan Ji remained unfazed, commenting that while Xing Gui had extraordinary potential, it was a pity she couldn't suppress her emotions.

He confirmed that Ka Suo and his companions' vital energy would be the best nourishment for the Hidden Lotus. He then assured Lian Ji that Ka Suo's life would be hers to take, promising to save the best for her. He also instructed Phoenix to bring Yan Da. Lian Ji then understood that Yuan Ji was sacrificing everyone's vital energy for the Hidden Lotus to bloom, connecting it to the lotus's motto: "If there are gains, there'll surely be losses."

Meanwhile, in the Floating Stone Formation, Yan Da, having evaded Phoenix, deduced that wishing upon the Hidden Lotus required vital energy from each tribe. She then covertly followed Phoenix to the Extinction Temple, where she overheard Yuan Ji's angry monologue. He revealed that he had allowed Ka Suo and his companions to live because She Mi's ancient seal on him remained unbroken. To break this seal, he needed the descendants of each tribe leader to willingly offer their vital energy.

He further instructed Phoenix to secretly seize Ka Suo's God Devouring Sword upon their arrival and destroy the sword spirit, Ying Kong Shi, without Lian Ji's knowledge, to prevent her from interfering with his plans to revive Shi. As Ka Suo and his companions approached the Sky Palace, Yan Da fell from the sky, landing before them.

She urgently warned them not to proceed, revealing Yuan Ji had set a trap to seize their vital energy for the Hidden Lotus, using it to resurrect his full physical body. Seeing their skepticism, Yan Da emphasized that she had personally overheard Yuan Ji's plan to unify the Three Realms and eradicate all Divine Tribes after breaking the seal. Ka Suo, stating that Yuan Ji had already taken everything from him, declared he had nothing left to fear.

Yan Da reminded him of sword spirit Ying Kong Shi, revealing Yuan Ji's deep hatred for Shi's betrayal and his intent to destroy even Shi's last remnant of vital energy. Ka Suo firmly declared he would not allow Shi to be harmed again.

His resolve hardened; he vowed to obtain the Hidden Lotus to revive Ying Kong Shi, Li Luo, and Lan Shang, and to thwart Yuan Ji's ambition to unify the Three Realms, even if it cost him his life. With newfound determination, Ka Suo led his companions towards the Sky Palace, and after a moment's thought, Yan Da decided to follow them. In the Eternal Lotus Pond, Yuan Ji gazed with fervent anticipation at the burgeoning Hidden Lotus, exclaiming excitedly that the day his spiritual powers would return was finally at hand.
