> Ice Fantasy Recap

The newly enthroned Ice King, Ying Kong Shi, found his moment of peace shattered by news of a Fire Tribe attack on the City of Bladed Snow. Arrows, bearing a message from the Fire King, Huo Yi, hinted at the Teardrop Charm. Concerned about rumors spreading and undermining his authority, Ying Kong Shi consulted Lian Ji.

She apologized for withholding information earlier, not wanting him to worry, but Ying Kong Shi asserted that rumors are like arrows that cannot be retrieved, capable of causing internal strife within the Ice Tribe. He decided to confront Huo Yi directly in the City of Ashes. Upon arriving, Ying Kong Shi was met by Yan Da, whom he quickly incapacitated with illusion magic. He threatened to kill Yan Da if Huo Yi continued to speak.

Huo Yi, undeterred, mocked Ying Kong Shi, stating his cold and ruthless demeanor mirrored a Fire prince, unlike the "useless" former Ice King. He acknowledged Ying Kong Shi as his son, highlighting their similarities. Ying Kong Shi released Yan Da and demanded to know Huo Yi's motive for attacking his city. Huo Yi revealed two objectives: a warning, and obtaining the Teardrop Charm.

Ying Kong Shi, recalling Lian Ji's earlier caution, handed over the Teardrop Charm Lian Ji had given him. However, Huo Yi rejected it, explaining that Lian Ji, being a child of a concubine, lacked the purest Mermaid Tribe bloodline, rendering her Teardrop Charm incapable of granting passage to the deepest part of the Endless Sea. Huo Yi promised to explain his need for the Endless Sea later and instead demanded a Teardrop Charm from a pure-blood mermaid.

When Ying Kong Shi questioned why he should obey, Huo Yi threatened to expose Ying Kong Shi's true Fire Tribe lineage and Lian Ji's betrayal, which led to the death of Ice princes and princesses. He knew such revelations would deeply wound Ka Suo. Huo Yi assured Ying Kong Shi that Ka Suo, now powerless, posed no threat to his crown.

Returning to the City of Bladed Snow, Ying Kong Shi was met by Lian Ji, who anxiously inquired about his meeting. She became enraged upon learning Huo Yi's demand for a pure mermaid's Teardrop Charm, but conceded that his blackmail left them with no choice. Ying Kong Shi stated he would resolve the issue himself and asked her not to interfere.

Unbeknownst to them, a familiar dark mist manifested outside the chamber, its low voice urging Ying Kong Shi to acquire the true Mermaid Teardrop Charm, enabling it to return to its territory. Meanwhile, deep within the Forest of Snow and Fog, Lan Shang, Huang Tuo, and Yue Shen rushed into the cave, drawn by unsettling roars. They found Ka Suo lying peacefully on a stone bed, but Li Luo was nowhere to be seen.

Huang Tuo examined Ka Suo, confirming that the God Devouring Sword Spirits had vanished entirely. Ka Suo was out of danger and would recover swiftly. Ka Suo awoke and immediately asked for Li Luo. The group praised Li Luo's earnest and devoted nature, a rarity in both the mortal and divine realms, but her continued absence left them bewildered. They returned with Ka Suo to the Ice Palace to share the good news.

The Old Ice King, Ice Queen, and Ying Kong Shi came to visit Ka Suo. Ying Kong Shi expressed his happiness, believing his decision to arrange Ka Suo and Li Luo's marriage had been a wise one, confident they would find eternal joy together. A messenger eagle arrived, bringing a message for Ka Suo.

His initial joy turned to shock and dismay as he read Li Luo's words, expressing gratitude for the betrothal but her desire for the freedom of the mortal realm. She stated her inability to serve as the Ice Consort and requested to resign as a realm guardian to become a commoner. Ying Kong Shi offered to find Li Luo, but Ka Suo declined, insisting he would handle his own problems.

Concurrently, Li Luo, her hands stained with blood, received Ka Suo's messenger eagle message. She remained silent, simply staring at her hands. The Ice Queen arrived and inquired if Li Luo had made a deal with the Fallen Oracle. Li Luo denied it and then requested a favor from the Ice Queen. Ka Suo and Lan Shang later received a summons from the Ice Queen for a meal. When they arrived, however, the Ice Queen was absent.

Ka Suo confided in Lan Shang about Li Luo's abrupt change of heart, expressing his confusion given their shared experiences and promises. Lan Shang, deeply admiring Ka Suo, could not comprehend Li Luo's actions either and playfully offered to seek a mind-reading spell from the Mermaid Saint. Ying Kong Shi entered the hall. Lan Shang, with her usual spirited demeanor, reminded him that in her heart, Ka Suo was the only true King.

Feeling disheartened, Ka Suo excused himself, claiming he needed to find his mother. Lan Shang rose to leave as well, but Ying Kong Shi stopped her, proposing marriage to ensure she wouldn't remain single forever, as he required an Ice Queen. Enraged by his audacity, Lan Shang slapped him and declared she would never speak to him again. Ying Kong Shi sat alone amidst the lavish, untouched food, reflecting on how bothersome women were, regardless of their realm.

He mused that if not for Ka Suo and the Teardrop Charm, he would have no interest in any of them. Ka Suo, searching for the Ice Queen, overheard Li Luo conversing with her. Li Luo was demanding greater rewards and power for saving Ka Suo, emphasizing that her perilous journey to the North Forbidden Land to find the Fallen Oracle had nearly cost her life.

She asserted that the initial reward for Ka Suo's life was insufficient, demanding to be appointed Realm Guardian Chief with significant authority, making her a sovereign. The Ice Queen questioned if Li Luo’s actions were born of love. Li Luo admitted to having once liked Ka Suo but stated she now understood their vast differences.

She explained that merely being the Prince's Consort would grant her only a few years of a mundane life, whereas she could achieve an extraordinary life of authority through her own efforts. She pointed out that Ying Kong Shi was now King, and Ka Suo held no power, rendering him useless in her eyes. Devastated, Ka Suo emerged from behind a pillar. Li Luo merely glanced at him, her expression unmoving, offering no denial of her words.

Ka Suo, his eyes fixed on her, simply stated, "Li Luo, I'll give you the reward that you want." They walked to the spot where they had first flown kites together. Ka Suo recounted how, during his gravest illness, when he had lost most of his memories, he still vividly remembered the promise they had made there.

Li Luo, gripping the kite string, coldly claimed to have no recollection of their shared past, though in reality, every moment spent with Ka Suo was vivid in her mind. Ka Suo desperately offered to abandon his divine identity and protect her forever if she would only stay with him. Li Luo scoffed at his declaration, asserting he could never truly abandon his brother or his tribe.

She questioned if he would remain indifferent should the Fire Tribe attack again, dismissing the conflicts of the realms and their leadership as irrelevant to her. She refused to sacrifice everything for the gods, criticizing their conceit and their expectation of mortal sacrifices. Ka Suo was heartbroken and struggled to reconcile this new reality of Li Luo. Li Luo then coldly demanded her desired power and stability, wishing to never see him again, and departed without a backward glance.

A distraught Ka Suo returned to the palace, where he met Xing Jiu. Xing Jiu advised him not to cling to his sorrow, reminding him that life itself is but a dream. He then invited Ka Suo to join him in uncovering a mystery on a distant coast. In the Mermaid Saint's chambers, Lan Shang lovingly massaged the Mermaid Saint's feet, clearly seeking a favor. The Mermaid Saint, knowing Lan Shang well, prompted her to reveal her request.

Lan Shang asked to take Ka Suo to Cherry Blossom Island, a sacred Mermaid Tribe location. The Mermaid Saint was infuriated, accusing Ka Suo of using Lan Shang for comfort after being rejected by a mortal. Lan Shang quickly clarified that it was her idea, explaining that Ka Suo was heartbroken and Huang Tuo had warned that his persistent unhappiness would impede his recovery.

The Mermaid Saint admonished Lan Shang for disregarding her teachings about maintaining dignity when a man's heart is no longer with her. Tearfully, Lan Shang confessed her inability to harden her heart against Ka Suo. She promised that once he recovered, she would leave the City of Bladed Snow forever and never see him again, begging the Mermaid Saint to grant her request one last time. The Mermaid Saint, unable to resist Lan Shang's pleas, ultimately consented.

Ka Suo and Xing Jiu arrived at a remote island. Ka Suo asked if Xing Jiu had visited the place before, to which Xing Jiu replied, "In a dream." Xing Jiu found a broken iron chain in the snow and gravely noted, "He undid the seal." When Ka Suo inquired about the identity of this person, Xing Jiu shook his head, stating he only knew that this individual was the "craziest god of the Three Realms."

Back in the Ice Palace, Ying Kong Shi sat alone, pondering Huo Yi's demand for the pure-blood mermaid's Teardrop Charm and Lan Shang's strong aversion to him. He realized Lan Shang would never willingly part with her Teardrop Charm for him. Determined to obtain it, Ying Kong Shi transformed himself into Ka Suo's likeness, intending to deceive Lan Shang. In his thoughts, he apologized to Ka Suo, believing this deception was the only way to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
