Lian Ji was enraged by the ambush on Ying Kong Shi by the Four Saints, declaring it an act of treason. She questioned the King, accusing him of favoring the Seven Saints. Xing Jiu, the Dream Master, cautiously stated that with the Four Saints' whereabouts unknown and Ka Suo still unconscious, a decision could not be made based solely on Ying Kong Shi's account.
Lian Ji immediately countered, tearfully recounting how the Saints had condemned Ying Kong Shi as "sinister" after one of them died while attempting to read his fate. She believed this ambush was the Saints' attempt to preemptively strike against Ying Kong Shi, whom they feared would seek revenge upon becoming Ice King. Lian Ji demanded the Saints' execution to bring justice to Ying Kong Shi.
Xuan Ta, however, defended the Saints, affirming their loyalty to the Ice Tribe despite their potentially extreme actions. He suggested that the incident at Illusion Sky might indicate a traitor within the Ice Tribe, or even a cunning plot by the true criminal to frame the Four Saints. Seeing their unresolved dispute, the Ice King decided to defer judgment until Ka Suo awakened and could clarify the events.
He then commanded Xuan Ta to thoroughly investigate and execute the Ice Tribe's traitor without mercy. Ying Kong Shi stared at his reflection, his injured left eye now a golden-yellow, starkly different from the Ice Tribe's characteristic ice-blue. As Lian Ji entered, he quickly covered his eye with an accessory. Lian Ji continued to grumble about the King's favoritism towards the Seven Saints.
Noticing Ying Kong Shi's injury, she immediately expressed concern and tried to examine his eye, but he gently brushed her hand away. Ying Kong Shi again pressed Lian Ji, asking if he truly carried Ice Tribe blood. Lian Ji firmly reiterated that he was an Ice Tribe Prince, soon to be King, and urged him to stop dwelling on such thoughts. Later, Ying Kong Shi stood by Ka Suo's bedside, who remained unconscious.
He realized that Ka Suo, knowing the Four Saints intended to murder him, had selflessly rushed to Illusion Sky to protect him. Ying Kong Shi called Ka Suo stupid for risking his life, believing that after such a sacrifice, he was no longer worthy to be Ka Suo's younger brother, especially if he was not a true Ice Tribe Prince. Ying Kong Shi brought food to the captive Shuo Gang.
Shuo Gang desperately pleaded for his release, appealing to Ying Kong Shi's friendship with Yan Da, who had previously saved Ying Kong Shi's life. Shuo Gang explained that he and Yan Da had defied the Fire King by coming to the Ice Tribe, and if his disappearance were discovered, Yan Da would face severe punishment.
Ying Kong Shi, however, wrestled with a dilemma: Shuo Gang had taught him Fire Tribe magic, and if his identity as a Fire God's son were revealed, it could be disastrous. To forever keep this secret, he considered killing Shuo Gang but was hesitant to cause Yan Da grief. Sensing Ying Kong Shi's murderous intent, Shuo Gang bolted from the snow cave and leaped into a chasm.
Just as he was about to fall to his death, Yan Da arrived and rescued him, bidding Ying Kong Shi "Until next time." Ka Suo finally regained consciousness, and Xuan Ta immediately questioned him about the Illusion Sky fire. However, Ka Suo, still weak, could not recall anything. The Ice Queen intervened, refusing Xuan Ta's suggestion to have Xing Jiu enter Ka Suo's dreams, stating that Ka Suo's fragile condition required peaceful recovery.
The Ice King agreed, acknowledging that Ka Suo could not provide information in his current state. Lan Shang spoke to Ka Suo's small Ice Nucleus, which suddenly became lively, indicating Ka Suo's return. Lan Shang was overjoyed to see him awake, but her happiness quickly turned to sorrow when Ka Suo did not recognize her or his Ice Nucleus.
She remembered Huang Tuo's grim warning that even if Ka Suo awoke, he might be disoriented or suffer memory loss because Sword Spirits were draining his vital energy and slowly controlling him. Huang Tuo had also stated that only the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal could expel the Sword Spirits, and without it, Ka Suo had only fifteen days to a month left to live. Fighting back tears, Lan Shang gently reminded Ka Suo that she was Lan Shang, his good friend.
Ka Suo strained to recall memories of her, but the effort brought on a splitting headache. Lan Shang urged him to stop and suggested they go for a walk. A moment later, the sound of hoofbeats filled the air. Ka Suo recognized it as the sound of Xue Yan, signaling Li Luo's return. He rushed forward and embraced Li Luo warmly, genuinely happy to see her.
Lan Shang watched, realizing with a heavy heart that Ka Suo, though he had forgotten her, still remembered Li Luo. Elves from the Thousand Spirit Clan reported to Xing Jiu their discovery in the Forest of Snow and Fog. At the site where Ice Tribe youths were murdered, they found a piece of wood bearing traces of magic.
They confirmed that these magic marks were identical to those found on a rock Li Luo had discovered, which had been left by the traitor who fed information to the Fire King. Xing Jiu immediately informed the Ice King, who ordered him and Xuan Ta to secretly investigate and uncover the spy, cautioning against any overt action that might alert the culprit. Meanwhile, Shuo Gang returned to Fire City, expressing gratitude to the Fire King for not abandoning him.
He claimed to have no knowledge of the black fog that kidnapped him, describing its magic as strange and unfamiliar. Shuo Gang then revealed that Ying Kong Shi had sought his help in learning Fire Tribe magic and was indeed capable of using it. The Fire King was delighted by this news, recognizing it as confirmation that Ying Kong Shi was his son with Lian Ji. A celebration was held for Li Luo's safe return from the Northern Forbidden Lands.
Liao Jian challenged Li Luo to a drinking contest, and the others merrily placed bets on who would get drunk first. Qin Chu arrived, visibly relieved to see Li Luo unharmed. Ka Suo invited him to join the festivities, but Qin Chu declined, asserting the social distinction between gods and mortals. He then insisted that Li Luo return with him for Realm Guardian training. When Li Luo refused, Qin Chu forcefully grabbed her hand to take her away.
The struggle ignited Ka Suo's jealousy and anger, causing the Sword Spirits within him to erupt. His magic flared, knocking everyone present to the ground. As Ka Suo regained control, he was filled with remorse for harming his friends. He anxiously looked at Li Luo to check if she was injured, but Qin Chu blocked his path. Realizing the danger he posed, Ka Suo, disheartened, left the gathering alone.
Still burdened by doubts about his true identity, Ying Kong Shi attempted to feed his Ice Nucleus with his own blood. Lian Ji entered, carrying the ceremonial attire for his coronation. Ying Kong Shi presented her with his Ice Nucleus, now visibly cracked. Lian Ji was furious, reminding him that presenting a complete Ice Nucleus at the coronation was essential to prove his heritage.
Ying Kong Shi confronted her, accusing her of tampering with his Ice Nucleus and asserting that his Fire Tribe blood made it impossible for him to cultivate an Ice Nucleus. Lian Ji finally admitted that he was not an Ice Tribe Prince but vowed to do everything in her power to ensure he secured the throne, even if it meant overcoming impossible odds. The Ice King convened a meeting to discuss Ying Kong Shi's coronation.
Lian Ji pressed for the ceremony to be held as soon as possible to reassure the Ice Tribe people. Xuan Ta, however, insisted on adhering to proper rituals, urging against haste. Lian Ji then requested Xing Jiu and Xuan Ta to promptly select an auspicious date. She also made an unexpected request: for Ka Suo to present Ying Kong Shi's Ice Nucleus as a gesture of loyalty to the new king and brotherly affection.
Despite Ying Kong Shi's protest that a new king must present his own Ice Nucleus, Lian Ji's appeal to unity and brotherhood convinced Ka Suo to agree. He then handed his own Ice Nucleus to Ying Kong Shi, symbolically entrusting it to accompany and protect his best brother.
Xing Jiu seized this opportunity, suggesting that every divine being in the palace, including the King and Lian Ji, offer a gift of their spiritual power to the new king as a sign of allegiance. This clever move would allow them to subtly observe everyone's magic, aiding in their secret hunt for the Ice Tribe's traitor. Late that night, Li Luo sought an audience with Ka Suo.
Ka Suo was happy that she had come, but the Sword Spirits stirred within him. Mindful of their violent influence and the potential harm he could inflict, he refused to open his door, telling her he was fine and wished to be alone. Heartbroken, Li Luo sat outside his chamber, drinking alone. When she heard footsteps and turned, expecting Ka Suo, she saw Lan Shang instead.
