Ying Kong Shi sought out Ka Suo in the Forest of Snow and Fog, asking his brother to play on the swings with him, just like old times. Ka Suo refused, stating they could no longer play together, as they would be enemies the next day. Ka Suo explained he had parents, tribesmen, and friends who supported him, and he could not let them down.
He asserted that the throne was rightfully his, reminding Ying Kong Shi that he was merely the son of a concubine, and urged him to withdraw from the match so they could go back to being good brothers. Ying Kong Shi then reminded Ka Suo of a past promise from an ice-ball game, where Ka Suo had agreed to fulfill one of his wishes.
Ying Kong Shi's wish was for Ka Suo to withdraw from the match or to tell their father he was willing to lose, because Ying Kong Shi wanted to become the Ice King. Ka Suo immediately refused, knowing that if Ying Kong Shi won, the Seven Saints would kill him. Ying Kong Shi expressed his deep disappointment, feeling that Ka Suo, his most beloved brother, no longer took him seriously and that his promises were empty.
He vowed to do whatever it took to defeat Ka Suo and become the Ice King, even threatening to banish Ka Suo from the City of Bladed Snow. Ka Suo declared that he could neither relinquish the throne nor lose to Ying Kong Shi. Ying Kong Shi then used his magic to restrain Ka Suo, highlighting Ka Suo's current lack of magic and claiming he could kill him at any moment.
Ka Suo defiantly provoked Ying Kong Shi, urging him to kill him and escape the Ice Tribe, thereby fleeing the unfair destiny laid out for him. He said that if his death could bring Ying Kong Shi a new life, he would die without regret. However, Ying Kong Shi could not bring himself to harm Ka Suo. He sorrowfully stated that he always believed Ka Suo, unlike others, understood him, but now Ka Suo had changed.
He reiterated his resolve to win the next day and become the Ice King. The final competition for the Ice King's throne commenced at Cherry Blossom Hill, the traditional practice ground of the Ice Tribe. The rule was to use magic to transform cherry blossoms into snowflakes, with the victor being the one who transformed the most. Ying Kong Shi went first, soaring into the sky and instantly converting all the cherry blossoms into a flurry of snow.
The Ice King was astonished by Ying Kong Shi's formidable magic, noting that only their ancestor, She Mi, could rival such power. Ka Suo, recalling a conversation with Xing Jiu, one of the Seven Saints, knew that the decision of who would be Ice King should rest with him and Ying Kong Shi alone. His own decision was to save Ying Kong Shi, and to do so, he had to win.
To gain the necessary power, Ka Suo used his own blood to summon the Sword Spirits that resided within him. He intended to use this power to destroy Ying Kong Shi's frozen blossoms. Ying Kong Shi, witnessing Ka Suo's agony, questioned why his brother would subject himself to such torture just to defeat him.
He tried to intervene with the God Devouring Sword to stop Ka Suo, but Ka Suo seized the sword, proclaiming that it could not harm him because he harbored the Sword Spirits. He then turned the God Devouring Sword on himself. As Ka Suo collapsed in pain, Ying Kong Shi rushed to his side, confused by his brother's self-inflicted torment. Ka Suo, barely conscious, simply reiterated his need to win.
Despite Ka Suo's desperate efforts, one snowflake remained on a branch, signifying Ying Kong Shi's victory. Overcome with despair at failing to save his brother, Ka Suo apologized to Ying Kong Shi before losing consciousness. Later, as Huang Tuo treated Ka Suo, Lan Shang tearfully accused Ying Kong Shi of being cruel to his brother.
Huang Tuo clarified that Ka Suo's condition was due to the Sword Spirits draining his life force, and had Ying Kong Shi not intervened, Ka Suo might have died. He explained that Ka Suo had deliberately lured out the Sword Spirits and allowed them to re-enter his body, severely damaging his internal organs. Huang Tuo warned that if the Sword Spirits were not expelled soon, Ka Suo would not live for another hundred days.
Meanwhile, Lian Ji was joyfully preparing for Ying Kong Shi's coronation ceremony. Ying Kong Shi, however, was preoccupied with Ka Suo's recovery and asked Lian Ji how to restore his brother's spiritual powers. Lian Ji attempted to sway Ying Kong Shi, suggesting that Ka Suo's desperate attempt to defeat him, neglecting their fraternal bond, meant he shouldn't bother helping him. She implied that Ka Suo's loss of powers would remove a threat to Ying Kong Shi.
Unmoved, Ying Kong Shi insisted that his brother must have had his own reasons. Lian Ji then revealed that to restore a god's powers, a weaker god must kill a more powerful one and absorb their spiritual energy. Ying Kong Shi immediately rejected this idea, knowing Ka Suo would never resort to such an act.
Realizing Lian Ji had known Ka Suo's moral stance and had used this information to manipulate him into seeking the throne, Ying Kong Shi grew deeply disappointed and asked her to leave, wanting to be alone to ponder Ka Suo's apology and what he should do. At the North Forbidden Land, Li Luo presented She Yin with a beautiful flower crown.
She Yin, pleased, offered to release her, but Li Luo refused, determined to learn the method for restoring a god's spiritual powers. She Yin grew angry, advising her to forget her king, warning that love between a god and a mortal was cursed and would lead to retribution, citing himself as a living example. He then recounted his own tragic love story from three thousand years ago.
While hunting in the forest, he met a mortal woman named Jia Ling who had accidentally trespassed into the Divine Realm. He instantly fell in love, believing his long immortal life was meant solely to meet her. They shared a deep love, witnessing the rare blooming of the Morning Flowers and vowing eternal devotion. However, Jia Ling's mortal life was brief, and before her death, she longed to see the Morning Flowers bloom one last time.
Desperate to save her, She Yin committed the unforgivable crime of killing a god, attempting to make her immortal. For this, the Ice King banished him to the North Forbidden Land, condemning him to never return, and sealed Jia Ling's body in a coffin as his eternal torment. Li Luo realized the woman in the coffin was Jia Ling. Suddenly, the North Forbidden Land began to quake violently.
Li Luo urged She Yin to flee, but he refused, explaining he had waited three thousand years to see Jia Ling one last time. He gave Li Luo the Fallen Oracle, instructing her to take it and summon its power if she didn't wish to suffer his cursed fate, then forced her to leave. As Li Luo departed, the coffin opened, and She Yin gently placed the flower crown on Jia Ling's head, kissing her.
But Jia Ling's form dissolved into smoke, and She Yin, heartbroken, took his own life. Emerging from the collapsing Forbidden Land, Li Luo found no trace of She Yin. Disoriented, she questioned whether the story of She Yin and Jia Ling was real or merely a dream, until she saw the Fallen Oracle clutched in her hand, confirming the truth of everything. Ka Suo awoke, calling out Ying Kong Shi's name, sensing his brother was in danger.
Despite his severe wounds, he resolved to find Ying Kong Shi. Unbeknownst to him, five of the Seven Saints were already preparing to attack Ying Kong Shi, and Xuan Ta had been tasked with keeping Ka Suo confined. Xuan Ta arrived at Ka Suo's residence, where Lan Shang informed him that Ka Suo was asleep, forcing Xuan Ta to wait in the hall. However, Ka Suo had used Lan Shang as a diversion and had already reached Illusion Sky.
He desperately warned Ying Kong Shi that the Seven Saints intended to kill him and urged him to escape the Ice Tribe immediately. But the Seven Saints arrived, declaring their mission in the name of She Mi to eliminate Ying Kong Shi, whom they deemed an inauspicious god unworthy of the throne, citing his role in the death of Saint Bi Luo and the War of Ice and Fire.
Ying Kong Shi finally understood that Ka Suo had known of this danger all along, and that was why he had fought so hard to win their match. A fierce battle ensued, but the combined might of the four attacking Saints was no match for Ying Kong Shi. When they regrouped and sacrificed their vitality to launch a powerful attack, Ying Kong Shi began to falter. At that moment, a mysterious black fog appeared, preventing Ying Kong Shi's defeat.
The fog proclaimed Ying Kong Shi to be the true heir of all tribes, destined to rise above them, and not yet fully awakened. Ying Kong Shi, in despair, called himself a useless bastard, a hybrid unsure of his true lineage, who could only worry his brother but never protect him. The black fog continued to tempt him, promising to help him awaken and burn the ignorant world to ashes.
It then possessed Ying Kong Shi, who instantly lost control of himself but gained immense power, emitting spiritual energy unlike that of the Ice Tribe. The four Saints were astonished, realizing that Ice Tribe gods could not resist the Holy Magic Cube and that Ying Kong Shi's magic was no longer of their kind.
The God Devouring Sword materialized, and Ying Kong Shi, with glowing red eyes, roared, "I am the doomsday of the three realms," before felling the four Saints, who vanished as he was engulfed in flames. Outside, Xuan Ta sensed the Holy Magic Cube's unusual behavior and realized Ka Suo was gone, having gone to Illusion Sky to save Ying Kong Shi. He quickly rushed there, where Xing Jiu also arrived, sensing something was wrong.
Inside Illusion Sky, Ying Kong Shi, still possessed by the black fog, was surrounded by fire, wielding Fire Tribe magic, and roaring that he would use his hands to destroy the Three Realms. Ying Kong Shi struggled against the black fog trying to take full control, tears of blood seeping from his left eye. Just then, Ka Suo, who had been unconscious, stirred and cried out Ying Kong Shi's name.
His voice pierced through the darkness, rousing Ying Kong Shi from the possession. The black fog retreated from his body. Ying Kong Shi quickly regained his senses and, seeing Ka Suo, helped his brother escape from Illusion Sky. As they emerged, the Ice King and other powerful figures arrived at the entrance, having been alerted to the chaos. Meanwhile, in Fire City, a messenger eagle brought back a crucial clue, allowing Yan Da to finally track down Shuo Gang.
