Before the Ice Veil could be repaired, the Holy Fire Source, protected by the Fire King's unique spiderweb seal, needed to be removed. Although Ka Suo had previously attempted to approach it many times without success, he offered to try again, believing his lack of magic might make the source less resistant to him. However, it was Ying Kong Shi who impulsively approached and successfully removed the Holy Fire Source, proving his capabilities to everyone present.

This feat led to an increase in ministers advocating for his succession to the throne. With the Holy Fire Source removed, City of Bladed Snow finally experienced its first snowfall in a long time. While the Ice Veil had stopped melting, it still needed to be fully repaired. The Ice King revealed he could cultivate new Six-Leaf Ice Crystals from ice nuclei, and presented two such nuclei to Ka Suo and Ying Kong Shi.

He declared that whoever could cultivate their ice nucleus into a Six-Leaf Ice Crystal sapling within ten days would become the next Ice King. He further specified that only a pure Ice Tribe royal could successfully nurture an ice nucleus with their blood. Lian Ji, Ying Kong Shi’s mother, observed the Ice King's announcement with suspicion, realizing he might already know of Ying Kong Shi's true parentage and was using this contest to secure Ka Suo's ascension to the throne.

Meanwhile, Qin Chu informed Li Luo that she and Ka Suo could not be together, emphasizing the insurmountable differences between a god and a mortal. He explained that the Realm Guardians were to return to the Mortal Realm in three days to help rebuild homes destroyed by the Fire Tribe. Li Luo, though unwilling, silently accepted this reality. She sent a messenger eagle to Ka Suo, hoping he would finish the words he left unsaid during their last encounter.

However, Ka Suo, still grappling with the uncontrollable sword spirits within him, chose to remain silent. He resolved to push Li Luo away, believing it was the only way for her to find happiness, even if it meant her hating him. Princess Lan Shang secretly decided to help Ka Suo by using her own blood to nurture his ice nucleus.

The Mermaid Saint discovered her and admonished her, reminding Lan Shang that Ka Suo’s lifespan was limited to a mere hundred years. She argued that Ying Kong Shi would inevitably become King, and the best course for the Mermaid Tribe was for Lan Shang to marry him.

However, Lan Shang remained steadfast in her devotion to Ka Suo, declaring that she would support him until he personally renounced the throne, even if it meant the Mermaid Tribe would have to sacrifice her. The Ice Queen sought out Xing Jiu, the Chief Dreamer, expressing her concern about Ying Kong Shi's sudden and immense increase in spiritual power.

She requested he use his Dream Tribe abilities to resolve her doubts about this mystery, cautioning him against carelessly looking into Prince Shi's future. Xing Jiu agreed to delve into the matter to satisfy her curiosity. In a prophetic dream, Xing Jiu saw Ka Suo standing on an island near the Lian Qiu Rock, a lonely Ice King amidst red ice spikes, uttering cryptic words: "The red lotuses will soon bloom. Binary stars will eventually meet.

The wheel of destiny has begun spinning. Please wait patiently." Ka Suo later woke Xing Jiu, inquiring if his mother had tried to influence him to support his claim to the throne. Xing Jiu observed Ka Suo's conflict between his parents' wishes for him to be king and his own belief that Ying Kong Shi was the better candidate. He urged Xing Jiu to make his own decision without external influence.

Xing Jiu then recounted the prophetic dream to Ka Suo, gifting him the dream in hopes that he could outpace destiny and find the answers to its enigmatic message. During this time, Ka Suo showed his ice nucleus to the Ice Queen, explaining that he had only dripped his blood on it, and it hadn't reacted. The Ice Queen, however, revealed a subtle growth, exclaiming that she knew he was the rightful King of the Ice Tribe.

In contrast, Ying Kong Shi's ice nucleus, when touched by his blood, immediately shattered, leaving him unable to cultivate it. The Ice King summoned Li Luo and shared the allegorical tale of a long-lived crane and a short-lived mayfly who fall in love. He explained that the mayfly's ephemeral life, though blissful, would condemn the crane to thousands of years of sorrow and loneliness after her inevitable death.

Li Luo understood his underlying message: her mortal lifespan would only bring unending pain to an immortal god like Ka Suo, and their difference in status meant they could never truly be together. She sadly acknowledged that if the mayfly had never loved the crane, such sorrow could be avoided. The Ice King then proposed to appoint Li Luo as the Realm Guardian General, succeeding General Ke Tuo, asking her to protect the Mortal Realm until her old age.

Li Luo, accepting her fate, obeyed his command. Later, Qin Chu visited a visibly upset Li Luo, offering her blood-boosting medicine and sharing the formula at her request for Yue Shen. Princess Lan Shang, determined to help Ka Suo, infiltrated Ying Kong Shi's palace with the intention of destroying his ice nucleus. Ying Kong Shi intervened, stopping her just in time.

When Lan Shang saw his ice nucleus, still unformed, she mockingly suggested that his blood might not be pure enough, boasting that Ka Suo's nucleus had already developed into an "ice nucleus baby" with just a single drop of blood. This sparked a deep doubt in Ying Kong Shi, reminding him of the Ice King's condition for pure Ice Tribe blood. He then questioned Lan Shang about her recovery after being bitten by a fire snake in the Mortal Realm.

Lan Shang recalled experiencing burning pain before drinking something that made the pain subside. Ying Kong Shi began to suspect his own lineage, wondering if it was his blood or Yan Da's that had healed Lan Shang, and whether he carried Fire Tribe blood. Lian Ji, already distraught over Ying Kong Shi's inability to cultivate his ice nucleus, was confronted by a suspicious Ying Kong Shi.

He directly questioned if he was truly an Ice Prince, citing his lifelong struggle with Ice Tribe magic and the exponential increase in his powers when facing members of the Fire Tribe. Lian Ji vehemently denied his doubts, insisting he was a true Ice Prince, attributing his difficulties to being a "late bloomer" in magic.
