Xing Jiu appeared in Li Luo’s dream to deliver a grave warning: the Fire King was holding the Mermaid Saint captive. The Mermaid Saint possessed the final piece of the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal, and the Fire King would likely use Princess Lan Shang to coerce the Saint into surrendering it. With Princess Lan Shang now lost in the Mortal Realm, Ka Suo and his companions had to find her before the Fire Tribe did.
Meanwhile, Princess Lan Shang was desperately trapped, witnessing the suffering of slaves. The merchant had tortured a slave to death, and Lan Shang urged the slave’s mother to flee. When the distraught mother learned her son was dead, she collapsed. Lan Shang, weeping with guilt over the slave's death, saw the greedy merchant fall into the water while frantically collecting pearls.
Seizing the opportunity, she grabbed a ceremonial knife from his waist, cut through the fishing net binding her, and escaped. However, a sudden fire snake lunged out and bit her, leaving her injured as she fled. Upon hearing of Princess Lan Shang's whereabouts from Xing Jiu, Ka Suo's group set out to find her. They soon encountered Yan Da and Shuo Gang, who were also searching for the Mermaid Princess.
Shuo Gang praised Yan Da as the Fire Tribe's top warrior, but Yan Da, recalling her previous defeat by Ying Kong Shi, corrected him. A report confirmed the Mermaid Princess's location, exciting Yan Da, who declared she was "looking for some fun." A skirmish ensued between the two factions. During the chaos, Ying Kong Shi discovered Princess Lan Shang, who was now behaving erratically due to the fire snake’s venom.
Yan Da vowed to kill Ying Kong Shi, but Princess Lan Shang suddenly lunged, biting Yan Da. Ying Kong Shi intervened to protect Yan Da and was also bitten by the afflicted princess. Li Luo arrived just in time, helping Ka Suo, Ying Kong Shi, and Princess Lan Shang make a swift escape on horseback. Ka Suo quickly sought out Huang Tuo from the Healer Tribe to neutralize Princess Lan Shang's poison.
Huang Tuo confirmed she had been bitten by a thousand-year-old Fire Snake but was astonished to find that the poison had already dissipated. He explained that such a poison could only be neutralized by Fire Tribe blood. Princess Lan Shang could not recall what happened after she was bitten. Li Luo remembered Princess Lan Shang biting Ying Kong Shi, suggesting Ice Tribe blood might have cured her, but Huang Tuo dismissed this as unlikely.
Ying Kong Shi then recalled Princess Lan Shang biting Yan Da first, deducing that the fire venom had been neutralized by Yan Da’s Fire Tribe blood, and he had been bitten only after she was already cured. Enraged by Yan Da and Shuo Gang's failure to capture Princess Lan Shang, the Fire King decided to take matters into his own hands. He berated Yan Da and Shuo Gang as "useless creatures."
Ka Suo and his group, accompanied by Princess Lan Shang, proceeded to the Mermaid Tribe’s palace to retrieve the Ice Crystal. Upon reaching the Mermaid Tribe’s palace, Li Luo noted its unusual floating nature, and Princess Lan Shang explained that the palace could also sink, and without a Teardrop Charm, no one could breathe underwater. Ka Suo asked her about the Ice Crystal’s location, but she only knew it was hidden within the palace.
However, the Fire King had already set an ambush. He appeared and declared he had obtained the final Ice Crystal from the Mermaid Saint, stating that the Saint, recognizing the Ice Tribe's diminished power, had exchanged the crystal for Princess Lan Shang's life. Princess Lan Shang apologized to Ka Suo, but he reassured her not to blame herself, calling it a war between Ice and Fire. The Fire King then demanded Ka Suo's Ice Crystals, promising a quick death.
Ka Suo refused, but his illusions proved no match for the Fire King, who swiftly seized the crystals. Ying Kong Shi and Li Luo were injured in the confrontation. The Fire King then trapped Ka Suo within his "Fire Globe of Despair," daring him to face the challenge as an Ice God. Inside, the Fire King slowly tortured Ka Suo, stripping him of his cherished magic. He declared that watching powerlessly as everything is taken is the most painful experience.
Despite the agony, Ka Suo refused to yield, vowing to recover the Ice Tribe. In a cruel display, the Fire King then destroyed the five collected Ice Crystals right before Ka Suo's eyes, leaving him completely helpless and tormenting his spirit. Sensing Ka Suo's extreme danger, Ying Kong Shi located his brother and was unwittingly drawn into the Fire Globe of Despair. Ka Suo, though weakened, still tried to resist but could not harm the Fire King.
When the Fire King launched an tragic attack on Ying Kong Shi, Ka Suo shielded him, sacrificing almost all his remaining spiritual power. The Fire King chose to spare Ka Suo’s life, but left him in a state worse than death, stripped of his magic and identity as an Ice Tribe god, destined to become a disgrace to his people.
Back at the Mermaid Tribe, Princess Lan Shang tearfully blamed herself for leading Ka Suo into the Fire King's trap, but Li Luo tried to comfort her. Huang Tuo examined Ka Suo, revealing his "six acupuncture points had been damaged by fire." He explained that to save him, a medicine made from mermaid scales and human blood was required. Both Li Luo and Princess Lan Shang immediately volunteered their contributions.
However, Huang Tuo also stated that he would have to open Ka Suo's body, apply medicine directly to his organs, and then suture the openings with herbs, warning that a single mistake could cost Ka Suo his last trace of spirit. Princess Lan Shang initially hesitated, fearing the risk of losing Ka Suo forever. Ying Kong Shi and Li Luo, however, were determined to proceed.
Li Luo then gently persuaded Princess Lan Shang, asking her to consider how Ka Suo would act if she were in danger and reminding her that trying, even with risks, would prevent future regret. Convinced, Princess Lan Shang ultimately agreed to the perilous procedure for the King in her heart. Under Huang Tuo’s skilled hands, Ka Suo slowly regained consciousness, much to the relief of everyone present.
However, his relief turned to anguish when he realized he could no longer use magic, unable to even turn water into ice. Ying Kong Shi tried to reassure him that his spiritual powers had not yet recovered, but Ka Suo knew the truth: the Fire King had utterly destroyed them.
Everyone implored Huang Tuo to restore Ka Suo’s spiritual powers, offering more blood and scales, but Huang Tuo, though apologetic, stated he was incapable of doing so, having already done his utmost just to save Ka Suo's life. Enraged, Ying Kong Shi vowed to kill the Fire King for revenge, with Li Luo and Princess Lan Shang also offering to join, but Ka Suo restrained them. The Mermaid Saint then arrived.
Ying Kong Shi speculated that she must have been released by the Fire King, and he asked if the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal had indeed been destroyed. Ka Suo confirmed that, apart from the Ice Tribe’s own crystal, the other five had been obliterated. Princess Lan Shang, distraught, pleaded with the Saint for an alternative way to restore the Ice Veil.
However, the Saint, believing the Ice Tribe was doomed with its crown prince stripped of his magic, advised Ka Suo to abandon his efforts to revive it. Ka Suo steadfastly refused, declaring that while they might be losing for now, they would ultimately triumph. The Saint then prepared to depart, but Princess Lan Shang declared her intention to go to the City of Bladed Snow to join them, only to be silenced by the Saint.
Despite her earlier stance, the Saint offered Ka Suo lodging at the Mermaid Tribe's palace until his injuries healed, knowing he was too weak to travel. Ying Kong Shi accepted on Ka Suo’s behalf, noting the Saint often said one thing and did another, implying her kindness. Elsewhere, Yan Da sought out Huang Tuo at the Healer Tribe. She accused Huang Tuo and Yue Shen of flirting, but Huang Tuo appeared to protect Yue Shen.
Yan Da provocatively suggested she might ruin Yue Shen's beauty to witness Huang Tuo’s healing prowess. When Huang Tuo inquired about her purpose, Yan Da cryptically replied, "We will see each other very soon. I will await your visit." This exchange foreshadowed an upcoming gathering. Soon after, a royal decree was broadcast from the Ice King and Queen to the five tribes—the Thousand Spirit Tribe, Healer Tribe, Dream Tribe, Bear Tribe, and Mermaid Tribe.
The message proclaimed the unification of Fire and Ice and invited the leaders of all tribes to the City of Bladed Snow to discuss the future. The message, though purporting to be from the Ice King and Queen, caused great suspicion among the tribes, who feared it was another plot orchestrated by the Fire King.
