Inside the House of Sunset Drizzle, Wang Xiaoshi and Bai Choufei were locked in a bloody confrontation. Wang Xiaoshi urged Bai Choufei to abandon his obsession, but Bai fiercely refused, unwilling to relinquish his ambitions. Wang questioned why Bai had forsaken their past bond, recalling how Bai had pledged loyalty to Su Mengzhen after arriving in the Capital and was now willing to kill his own sworn brother.

Bai retorted that they could have achieved greatness together and offered to share his power, but Wang rejected his "dominion," lamenting that he wished they had never come to the Capital. Just as their fight reached a deadly impasse, Wen Rou arrived, distraught. She announced her own return and revealed that another had come back as well. Su Mengzhen's unexpected appearance shocked everyone.

Bai Choufei, enraged, confronted Lei Chun for bringing the "living husk" of Su Mengzhen before him, reminding her that she was his wife. Lei Chun revealed that she was the one who sheltered Su Mengzhen while Bai was celebrating his supposed victory. She then stunned him by disclosing that the secret tunnel of the House of Sunset Drizzle connected directly to Six Half Hall, sarcastically thanking him for unwittingly delivering Su Mengzhen to her.

Su, in turn, mocked Bai for failing to kill him previously. Lei Chun warned Bai that she was now the Chancellor's foster daughter, but Su affirmed that in his heart, she remained unchanged. He declared that while he could overlook Bai's betrayal, he would seek retribution for the murder of his brethren.

Lei Chun delivered the final blow, informing Bai that Wang Xiaoshi had already met with the Emperor, meaning Chancellor Cai himself was in peril and Bai was now a "spent pawn." Realizing his leverage was gone, Bai acknowledged that kidnapping Wen Rou and possessing the dispatch order had become pointless.

Reflecting on the grim reality that "in the martial arts world, power over life and death is as easy as blowing away dust," Wang Xiaoshi lamented how their sworn brotherhood had been twisted to the point of mutual destruction. He implored Bai Choufei to surrender, stating that with Su Mengzhen's return, he had lost. Defiant, Bai declared that as long as he lived, he could not lose. As they clashed one last time, Wang Xiaoshi halted his fatal blow.

He explained that his "Retainment" sword had one side blunted to encourage mercy, and that Bai was the person he wished to "retain." In a shocking turn, Bai stabbed himself, proclaiming the act settled his debt to his brothers and that from then on, they were strangers. Witnessing the tragedy, Su Mengzhen returned to the House of Sunset Drizzle and sorrowfully admitted his own defeat, acknowledging that their brotherhood's fracture was his failure.

He confessed he had misjudged Bai Choufei's overwhelming ambition, a force his father had warned him to harness for revenge. He reflected on Bai's arduous journey to power, concluding that for those at the top, a single failure is ruin, and "tonight, there is no winner."

As Lei Mei ominously told Bai that the martial arts world would no longer need him, he, consumed by pain, muttered his unfulfilled desire to conquer the world, establish his own rules, and "fly" as "the brightest fire striker in the night," proclaiming, "I'd rather die with dignity than live in silence." Pain-ridden and obsessed, Bai Choufei stumbled to the highest peak of the House of Sunset Drizzle. Gazing upon the bustling Capital, he took a final, desperate leap.

As he lay dying, only Lei Mei approached. In his last moments, he begged her to end his suffering, and she, with a heavy heart, delivered the fatal blow. Upon learning of Bai's death, Su Mengzhen tumbled from his sedan in shock. He reflected that his happiest moments were the days spent with his two sworn brothers. Acknowledging the past was gone, he entrusted the House's brethren to Wang Xiaoshi.

He then apologized to Lei Chun for breaking his promises, urging her to forget him and start a new life. Recognizing that Bai was gone, Su Mengzhen declared it was his turn. He whispered a pre-arranged signal to Yang Wuxie: "To stand alone and pacify the frontiers, one's life is known only to a single sword." He then gave the resolute command: "Do it!" Aghast, Wang Xiaoshi demanded to know why Yang Wuxie complied.

Yang, tears streaming down his face, revealed the phrase was the signal for him to take Su Mengzhen's life. As Wang Xiaoshi watched his brother die, Lei Chun, utterly devastated and clad in a red wedding dress, walked slowly into a lake, seeking to join her beloved in death. With the tragic events concluded, Wang Xiaoshi led a farewell for Su Mengzhen and Bai Choufei, solemnizing the moment by burning the Retainment sword.

He affirmed that while "the past can't be undone," "vengeance must be served." With the House of Sunset Drizzle now leaderless, Wang's martial uncle, Zhuge Zhengwo, praised his service to the nation and deemed him the ideal successor. However, Wang Xiaoshi declined, stating that with his sword burned, he wished only to be a "free drifter." He did, however, recommend a trusted candidate to his uncle.

Meanwhile, Chancellor Cai, stripped of his titles, informed his loyal subordinates that he must "leave my post for now" and tasked them with being his liaisons in the Imperial Court. In a final letter, Wang Xiaoshi rejected the notion that "the end of the path was only big enough for one." He declared his intention to leave the martial arts world behind to explore the "vast" world. His journey, however, had one last stop. He intercepted Chancellor Cai's sedan.

A flashback revealed a private meeting where the Emperor explained to Wang Xiaoshi that while he could exile the Chancellor, Cai's deep-rooted power meant he could never be truly purged from the court. Realizing only Cai's death could end the corruption, Wang, feeling his brothers were with him in spirit, killed the Chancellor. He then boldly declared himself the killer, ready to be arrested.

However, a host of legendary heroes, including Swordsman of Awe Xi Liantian and The Blade of Zhang Ba Luo Wuxia, stepped forward to protect him, clearing his path to escape. Outside the city walls, he reunited with Wen Rou and other companions, and together, they set off to explore the world beyond.

Back at the House of Sunset Drizzle, a man named Qi Shaoshang arrived with a token, formally announcing himself as the new House Master, as the martial arts world turned to a new chapter.
