News reached Su Mengzhen that the men he sent to rescue Bai Choufei had all been killed, and Bai Choufei himself had betrayed them. Despite the shock, Su Mengzhen suppressed his emotions and prepared to meet Bai Choufei. He had considered countless possibilities for their reunion, but he was devastated that Bai Choufei would turn against the brothers who had faced life and death with him.

At the tavern, Bai Choufei acknowledged Su Mengzhen's loyalty in trying to rescue him while the House of Sunset Drizzle was under pressure and Su Mengzhen himself was gravely ill. However, Bai Choufei then revealed he had personally killed Long Xiaoqing and Mo Beichen, though Zhu Xiaoyao was still alive. Bai Choufei declared he was no longer the man Su Mengzhen once knew.

He scoffed at Su Mengzhen's perceived superiority, stating that the days when he needed Su Mengzhen's help were over. Recalling how Lei Mei had first brought him to that very tavern and told him he wasn't worthy to sit there, Bai Choufei asserted his new status through his alliance with the Youqiao Group. He declared that only one person could rule the martial arts world, and that person would be him.

When Su Mengzhen questioned his alliance with Chancellor Cai, Bai Choufei defiantly stated that this path would grant him everything he desired. He then bluntly told Su Mengzhen that they were fundamentally different and their brotherhood existed only because of Little Rock. With Little Rock gone, there was no longer any reason to maintain their ties. Bai Choufei consumed a drink, symbolically severing their bond, and warned that in the future, when their blades clashed, no mercy should be shown.

Although Bai Choufei had proclaimed their ties severed, he revealed his cunning to Lei Mei, explaining that telling Su Mengzhen about Zhu Xiaoyao was a "mental attack." He intended for Su Mengzhen, in his weakened state, to see Zhu Xiaoyao's pathetic condition, hoping the shock might kill him. When asked if she would still choose him, Lei Mei affirmed her unwavering loyalty.

Later, Ren Lao and Ren Yuan were seen dragging Zhu Xiaoyao, wrapped in rags, through an alley where beggars gathered. Her face was disfigured and her eyes hollow. Just as the beggars approached her with malicious intent, Su Mengzhen swiftly intervened, striking them down and taking Zhu Xiaoyao away. Afterward, witnessing Bai Choufei's methods, Ren Lao remarked to Ren Yuan that Bai Choufei was more ruthless than them, aiming not just to kill but to utterly debase a once-noble woman.

Bai Choufei, now a figure of status under Chancellor Cai, ordered Ren Lao and Ren Yuan to have a new knife forged for him, identical to his old one but without the bloodstains of his former brothers, which he found inauspicious. Meanwhile, Little Rock, who had never prayed before, fervently wished for Wen Rou's safety, promising to sacrifice his own life if she could survive. His prayers were answered when Wen Rou finally awoke.

As she recovered, she praised the kindness of those who cared for her, playfully commenting that with all the food she was being given, she was about to become as round as a lantern. Little Rock tenderly assured her he would love her even if she did. Everyone celebrated her recovery, and Recluse Tianyi expressed his delight in his "silly disciple's" good fortune.

He worried that Little Rock's dull personality might anger Wen Rou, but she dispelled his concerns, affirming that despite Little Rock's flaws, his sincerity and unwavering resolve to help the weak were rare and precious qualities. To her, he was his best self. Moved, Recluse Tianyi emphasized that a wholehearted person was the rarest treasure.

He advised Little Rock to take care of Wen Rou, as they would have to wander the lands while he awaited evidence to bring down Chancellor Cai. Later, Bai Choufei visited Cha Hua's old yard, where everything felt desolate. For a fleeting moment, a vision of Little Rock appeared, happily calling out, "Da Bai, you're back," bringing a smile to Bai Choufei's face. But as he reached out, the vision vanished, leaving him with an empty hand and heart.

Back in his chambers, Bai Choufei drank alone, confessing his regret for killing his brothers and breaking their vow. He reflected that Little Rock and Wen Rou had been like a lamp in his heart, guiding him. But with Little Rock dead, that lamp was extinguished. He declared his intention to bid farewell to his past, holding no regret for his choices.

From that day forward, he vowed to become his true self, proclaiming, "I would rather die speaking out than survive in silence." Little Rock, meanwhile, practiced a new set of swift, fierce sword skills unknown to Recluse Tianyi. He explained that he had learned them in a strange dream after falling into a sinkhole. In the dream, he was a child again, being taught the movements by a mysterious figure.

Recognizing the style, Tianyi revealed the truth: twenty years ago, Thirteen Doom and the full force of the Youqiao Group had assassinated Little Rock's father. His mother was killed while helping him escape, but his father's fate remained unknown. Tianyi disclosed that his father was the legendary hero Fang Geyin, and the sword skills were Fang Geyin's creation, the Blood River Sword Skill.

Later, while making offerings to his father, Little Rock met a young boy also mourning his own father. The boy’s cherished memories made Little Rock lament not having any of his own. He confessed that he had wandered without a guiding "lamp" for years, but knowing who his father was gave him a sense of direction. With the truth about his father's murder revealed, Little Rock was determined to seek justice.

He told Wen Rou that Recluse Tianyi was awaiting an official named Liu Anshi, who possessed evidence against Chancellor Cai related to the assassination. Before he could finish, Wen Rou assured him she understood and declared her unwavering support. She acknowledged their shared dream of a peaceful life but recognized that his duty came first. Little Rock thanked her, but Wen Rou affirmed that whether their days were blissful or fraught with danger, she would be by his side. "

Wherever you go, I'll follow," she promised. Elsewhere, Bai Choufei arrived at the Six and a Half Hall. Lei Chun expressed conflicted feelings, saying she once wanted him to join but now wished he would not enter. Bai Choufei entered defiantly. Lei Chun offered a congratulatory toast, acknowledging that her foster father now considered him part of the Youqiao Group.

Bai Choufei reflected on his past feelings of inferiority but asserted that he now finally felt worthy of their friendship, wielding the power to make his ambitions reality. Lei Chun then proposed they join forces to make the Hall the sole dominant power in the martial arts world. Bai Choufei readily agreed, but Lei Chun concluded with a stern reminder: regardless of his ambition, the Six and a Half Hall would always belong to the Lei family.
