Concerned about the sole remaining lead for the northern business, Su Mengzhen decides he must personally investigate, recognizing the urgency of the situation as Lei Sun is likely to eliminate all loose ends tonight. Simultaneously, Xiaoshi makes his way to the prison where Long Xiaoqing, the northern contact, is held. There, he unexpectedly finds Zhu Xiaoyao, who claims she was hired by Lei Hen to play music for his sadistic tortures.

Xiaoshi urges her to leave, fearing for her safety, but she refuses, stating she hasn't received her payment and believes Xiaoshi is the one in danger. After Lei Hen departs, Xiaoshi seizes the opportunity to attempt a rescue, only to discover the captive is not Long Xiaoqing but a member of Six Half Hall, revealing a trap. Lei Hen then reappears, locking the door and trapping Xiaoshi. The confrontation escalates, with the sounds of battle mingling with intense music.

A blade is aimed directly at Zhu Xiaoyao, but Xiaoshi swiftly intercepts it. After a series of fierce exchanges, Xiaoshi manages to wound Lei Hen. As another Six Half Hall member attempts a surprise attack from behind, Zhu Xiaoyao, demonstrating unexpected martial prowess, dispatches the assailant. Xiaoshi is astonished, having initially perceived her as a mere civilian.

Zhu Xiaoyao then reveals her identity, producing a token that identifies her as an archer of the House of Sunset Drizzle and Su Mengzhen's personal bodyguard. She explains that she has already rescued the real Long Xiaoqing, but refuses to immediately release the trapped Xiaoshi, playfully demanding he "sleep with her" in return. Xiaoshi, flustered and indignant, rejects her advances, leading to a humorous exchange as he struggles against her teasing. Eventually, she tosses him the key.

Meanwhile, Li Niantang basks in the effusive flattery of two subordinates while drinking heavily. Unexpectedly, his two companions collapse, seemingly poisoned, as Bai Choufei calmly walks in. Li Niantang leads Bai Choufei further into the building, revealing a trap as Six Half Hall members emerge and surround Bai Choufei. Utterly unafraid, Bai Choufei effortlessly dispatches the lesser thugs. As Li Niantang attempts to flee, Bai Choufei swiftly pursues him, throwing a sword that strikes and kills his target.

Immediately after, a large net descends from above, trapping Bai Choufei. In a critical moment, a figure clad in purple materializes, swiftly eliminating the remaining Six Half Hall members before disappearing as quickly as they came, leaving Bai Choufei unable to identify their rescuer. Su Mengzhen, having successfully located and rescued Long Ba, the non-verbal younger brother of the northern contact, rendezvous with Xiaoshi and Bai Choufei. The pursuing Six Half Hall forces, rather than engaging directly, maintain a standoff.

Su Mengzhen explains that their opponents are waiting for dawn; once daylight breaks, even Lei Sun cannot openly commit murder on the streets, especially with the Ministry of Justice's patrols, which have been conspicuously absent all night. Bai Choufei voices his concern, viewing Long Ba as mere bait in a carefully orchestrated trap by Six Half Hall designed to deplete their forces and ensnare Su Mengzhen. Despite this, Su Mengzhen remains steadfast in his commitment to protecting Long Ba.

As the sun begins to rise, Six Half Hall throws Long Xiaoqing's severed head onto the street, devastating Long Ba. Just as the tension reaches a breaking point, the Ministry of Justice patrols arrive, forcing both sides to disengage. Su Mengzhen then instructs his subordinates to care for Long Ba, revealing later that despite his physical age, Long Ba has the mind of a three-year-old child due to a developmental disability.

With the immediate crisis resolved, Xiaoshi grapples with the unresolved matter involving Zhu Xiaoyao. He seeks advice from Bai Choufei, who offers counsel on handling romantic entanglements. Armed with this abstract advice, Xiaoshi attempts to clarify the previous night's incident with Zhu Xiaoyao. His efforts to apply Bai Choufei's "mutual consent" and "life is short" theories comically backfire as he stumbles over his words. Zhu Xiaoyao playfully turns his arguments against him, highlighting his inexperience.

Just as Xiaoshi is at his wit's end, Wen Rou arrives and exposes Zhu Xiaoyao's ruse, assuring Xiaoshi that nothing untoward actually occurred. Wen Rou then teases Xiaoshi about a false rumor of him having fifteen past relationships, much to his exasperation. Xiaoshi then reveals to Wen Rou the unique property of his sword, Retainment.

He explains that his master taught him that the first person for whom its wielder draws the blade will be inextricably linked to their destiny forever. Xiaoshi then confesses that he first drew his sword to protect her, solidifying their unspoken mutual affection. The following day, Xiaoshi and Wen Rou visit Madam Cha Hua and Mr. Wo, who have provided them shelter.

Later, Xiaoshi leads Wen Rou to a secluded rooftop spot he discovered, offering a breathtaking view of the Capital. He muses about a peaceful life they could share, reflecting that "the martial arts world is plagued by stormy weather, but it is also blessed with serenity; two people staying together is also part of the martial arts world," hinting at their shared future.

Meanwhile, Wang Er, a cheerful shopkeeper, excitedly informs Bai Choufei that one of his paintings has sold for a considerable sum, and a wealthy patron is interested in acquiring all of his future works. Unbeknownst to Bai Choufei, the buyer is Lei Chun, who is acquiring the paintings for Su Mengzhen, despite the ongoing hostilities between their respective factions. Elsewhere, Su Mengzhen and Lei Sun hold a tense meeting.

Lei Sun interrogates Su Mengzhen about his recent actions—including his ascension to House Master, his recruitment of Wang Xiaoshi and Bai Choufei, and his interference with Six Half Hall's operations—all of which Lei Sun views as violations of established "rules."

Su Mengzhen defiantly asserts his own set of rules: he declares Wang Xiaoshi and Bai Choufei his sworn brothers, warning Lei Sun to cease targeting them, and boldly states that he has "lit a fire" under Six Half Hall's business, implying its fate now rests solely on Lei Sun's capabilities. The meeting concludes with palpable animosity. From their modest home, Madam Cha Hua, despite her blindness, senses Xiaoshi and Wen Rou's presence on the distant rooftop.

She praises Wen Rou's admirable qualities, including her favorable background and kind heart. Mr. Wo concurs, adding that Xiaoshi is equally impressive. He recalls Xiaoshi's earlier words about striving for justice: "If someone wields a sword to kill others, someone else will bathe in blood to seek justice."

This powerful statement reminds Mr. Wo of Fang Geyin, a legendary hero he once knew, and he expresses his conviction that Xiaoshi possesses the potential to become a great hero himself, one truly worthy of Wen Rou.
