This led them to conclude that Su Qi was not the true mastermind; the real culprit was still on Triangle Group's board and needed to be exposed to resolve Peony's crisis.
Meanwhile, Wang Zijian conducted a routine inspection of raw materials. A warehouse owner informed him of a newly arrived, low-priced batch of beef, offering to reserve it for Peony due to their long-standing partnership, with payment due on delivery. Su Qi faced a major setback when Mr. Huang, a potential investor, withdrew his offer upon learning of Su Qi's departure from Triangle Group.
Mr. Huang admitted his interest was tied to Triangle's backing and warned Su Qi that those who leave Mr. Wan tend to fade into obscurity. As Su Qi’s projects floundered, Zheng Chao, whose betrayal was now exposed, attempted to flee with his payment but was intercepted and captured by Su Qi. Shortly after, Su Qi received a call from Lou Yuan to arrange a meeting.
At their meeting, Lou Yuan revealed that Zheng Chao had voluntarily approached him, offering to be a witness for Peony and providing evidence sufficient to imprison Su Qi. Instead, he proposed they cooperate to defeat their common enemy, Mr. Wan.
Su Qi revealed he possessed evidence of Mr. Wan's illegal private transactions, gathered over his years at Triangle, and offered to share it in exchange for the incriminating recordings of his own actions once Mr. Wan was dealt with. Lou Yuan reminded Su Qi that he was the one in immediate danger, as Mr. Wan was actively trying to frame him as a scapegoat.
Su Qi acknowledged this but stressed the sincerity of his offer, warning that Mr. Wan's schemes were far more ruthless than his own and could ruin Peony. Later, discussing the matter with Dong Dong'en, Lou Yuan agreed they needed to seize the initiative, citing that the enemy of an enemy can be a friend. Lou Yuan gathered Dong Dong'en, Wang Zijian, and Cao Ya, asserting that they must shift from a defensive to an offensive stance against Mr. Wan.

However, they discovered only properly packaged, regular frozen meat. When Ke Maoxu reported the failure, Lou Yuan doubted Su Qi would lie at such a critical moment. He then recalled Wang Zijian's earlier conversation about a large batch of low-priced beef and suspected a bait-and-switch. Lou Yuan, Dong Dong'en, Wang Zijian, and Cao Ya raced to the other warehouse. There, they found Mr. Wan and his men moving the illicit meat.
As Dong Dong'en filmed the scene with her phone, Mr. Wan spotted them and ordered his men to seize the phone. A struggle broke out, but before they could destroy the evidence, the police arrived and apprehended Mr. Wan and his crew. News reports later confirmed the bust of a large-scale smuggling operation, and Mr. Wan was sentenced to ten years in prison with a substantial fine.
With Mr. Wan neutralized, Triangle Group's reputation collapsed, ending its threat to Peony Corporation. A confident Lou Mudan fully entrusted the company to Lou Yuan's team, celebrating with Chen Wende over a hotpot meal. In their personal lives, Lou Yuan began secretly planning to propose, trying to measure Dong Dong'en's ring size while she slept and later browsing engagement rings. At Ba'er Creative, business was booming: they hired a new employee, Yu, and Xie Yi was promoted to Creative Director.
To his delight, his idol, singer Ai Lin, approached them to create the opening film for her anniversary concert.
