Back in the Silk Cave, Qing Tong consumed the remaining Seven Bitterness poison, believing it was the only way to save Young Master Fugui. Madam Yin was delighted upon learning that Qing Tong had indeed poisoned the Soldier, gloating about her success. She recalled how her husband had been deceived and killed by humans, specifically Wangquan Hongye, and vowed to make the Wangquan family experience the pain of losing a loved one.

Qing Tong then informed Madam Yin that she, too, was poisoned, explaining that the Soldier was extremely vigilant and always made her taste his food first. This only fueled Madam Yin's hatred, confirming her belief that humans were all hypocritical. However, she withheld the antidote, insisting she would only hand it over once she received definitive confirmation that the Soldier was truly poisoned. The next morning, Wangquan Fugui awoke feeling unusually fatigued.

He was puzzled as to how he had fallen asleep so deeply. After circulating his inner energy, he discovered he had been poisoned. He searched the entire Wangquan Manor but Qing Tong was nowhere to be found, confirming his suspicions. Just then, Feng Tingyun arrived in a hurry. She had learned everything from the male spider, whom she had trapped after he transformed from a cocoon.

Furious, she confronted Fugui, but he stopped her, calmly stating that Qing Tong had already left. Noticing Fugui's pale complexion, Feng Tingyun touched his wrist and realized he was deeply afflicted by a potent Gu poison. Despite this, Fugui showed no anger towards Qing Tong and even prevented Feng Tingyun from telling his Master.

Feng Tingyun, realizing Fugui knew everything and was protecting Qing Tong, became even more frustrated, but Fugui insisted it was his business and he would handle it himself. Meanwhile, at the Sword Tomb, Wangquan Jingting was seething with rage. With only his attendant Lu by his side, he drank and revealed his hidden ambitions. He recounted his past in the Western Regions, where he had offended many in his pursuit of power.

Once, he was left for dead after being gravely wounded. While everyone else wished for his demise, the Black Fox Madam sent her clone, Taisui, to rescue him. Taisui revealed a secret: the Western Regions harbored the True Dragon Power, which could grant omnipotence. However, to wield it, one needed dragon scales, a dragon spine, and a dragon core.

After years of searching, he discovered that the Wangquan family's ancestors had once slain a true dragon and forged a sword from its spine, which was then sealed in the Sword Tomb due to its immense power. This revelation was his reason for returning to the Wangquan family under the guise of the Blue Sky Conference: to find the dragon spine.

He declared his absolute need for success, but raged that the Soldier, Fugui, had thwarted his plans and destroyed his cultivation. He swore that Wangquan Hongye and Wangquan Fugui both must die. Fugui, reflecting on Qing Tong’s nature, understood she must have been coerced by Madam Yin to poison him, likely to save her brother.

He knew Qing Tong had a younger brother and concluded her sudden departure meant she had returned to the Silk Cave on Mount Baiwu to rescue him. Without hesitation, he boarded the Demon-Slaying Palanquin and set off for Mount Baiwu. Madam Yin, having received confirmation that Fugui was indeed poisoned, finally handed the sole antidote to Qing Tong. However, she immediately ordered Qing Tong to be imprisoned, intending to keep her by her side forever.

When Qing Tong awoke, she found her brother, Qingcheng, next to her. She recounted her adventures and shared half of her demon power with him, enabling him to transform into human form. Together, they made a daring escape from the Silk Cave. Upon receiving reports of Qing Tong and Qingcheng's escape, and that the Soldier was heading towards Mount Baiwu, Madam Yin dismissed Fugui as a threat due to his poisoned state.

Believing this was her chance to avenge her husband, she gathered all capable fighters from the Silk Cave to intercept him. Fugui was soon surrounded by Madam Yin's forces, but despite being poisoned, he effortlessly defeated them. He then issued a stern warning to a fleeing Madam Yin, vowing to show no mercy if he ever saw her again. Having learned that Qing Tong and her brother had successfully escaped, Fugui turned back towards the Cold Pool.

Meanwhile, Qing Tong gave her brother, Qingcheng, all the gems she had secretly saved over the years, instructing him to travel to the safe haven of Deer Village, home to deer demons. She told him to share half the gems with the local deer demons and use the rest to buy food and regain his strength. Qingcheng questioned her about not taking the antidote and her decision to give it to Fugui, reminding her of the humans' past cruelties.

Qing Tong, however, explained that just as there are good and bad demons, there are good and bad humans, and emphasized that without Fugui's spiritual power, neither she nor Qingcheng would have been able to achieve human form. Despite Qingcheng's pleas for her to come with him, Qing Tong insisted he leave for his safety and tearfully urged him to take care of himself. Enduring the debilitating effects of the poison, Qing Tong hurried back towards the Cold Pool.

Feng Tingyun, encountering Qing Tong on her way back, angrily intercepted her. Still furious about what she perceived as Qing Tong's betrayal against Fugui, whom she deeply cared for, Feng Tingyun refused to listen to Qing Tong's explanation that she was there to deliver the antidote. She immediately ordered her people to attack Qing Tong. As Qing Tong's life hung by a thread, Fugui arrived just in time to rescue her.

Seeing Qing Tong, bruised and battered, yet still clutching the antidote meant for him, deeply moved Fugui. As Qing Tong fell unconscious, Fugui administered the only antidote to her. He then sent a message to Rumu, asking him to return and help him purge the poison and heal. Rumu arrived, questioning Fugui's decision to give away the only antidote when the poison in Fugui's own body would reach his heart in five days.

Fugui explained that it was the seventh night, and the Gu poison had fully formed, making it the opportune moment to expel it. However, with his vital energy in turmoil, he needed Rumu's assistance to seal his spiritual veins during the process. As Fugui and Rumu began the ritual, the Black Fox Madam observed, noting that a "sword forged to vanquish evil" had developed warmth.

She mused that Wangquan Fugui, the Soldier, had fallen for a "lowly little demon," concluding that "Once a person develops feelings, they gain weaknesses." She then checked on her four clones—Taisui, Gukui, Guifeng, and Jiuwei—confirming they were on standby, and declared it was time for Taisui to confront "our old friend from the Western Regions."
