Sword and Beloved Episode 6 Recap
> Sword and Beloved Recap
Qing Tong was overjoyed with the name Wangquan Fugui gave her. She continuously practiced writing "Qingtong" in the snow, a sight that brought Wangquan Fugui great comfort, assuring him that all his efforts for her were worthwhile. Following the Blue Sky Convention, where Rumu had injured many innocents, numerous victims and their families sought justice from Wangquan Hongye, the Chief of the Yiqi Alliance.
Wangquan Fugui passionately defended Rumu, arguing that Quan Jingting was the true instigator and Rumu was merely a victim. However, Wangquan Hongye cut him off, asserting that as a Soldier, Wangquan Fugui had no right to meddle in Yiqi Alliance affairs. Wangquan Fugui, his face stern, accused his father of not treating him as a son but as a mere tool for slaughter. Wangquan Hongye offered no further explanation, simply ordering him back to the Cold Pool for sword practice.
Later, a subordinate reported that an investigation into the Xiyun Hall incident confirmed the evil medicine was developed by Wangquan Shouyi and sold to the Demon Realm and Western Regions, making Quan Jingting's request for it logical. Wangquan Hongye ordered a full search for the medicine within the Yiqi Alliance. Wangquan Fugui went to the Sword Tomb and confronted Quan Jingting, who was now imprisoned. Wangquan Fugui expressed his disdain, wondering how a father could be so ruthless.
He dismissed Quan Jingting's claims of being misled by Wangquan Shouyi, and then, without further ado, abolished his cultivation, stating this was necessary for him to properly guard the Sword Tomb. Wangquan Fugui then bid farewell to Rumu, who was determined to find his "Yun sister." Wangquan Fugui watched him go, silently wishing Rumu the freedom and happiness he himself lacked.
Rumu eventually found his way to a dilapidated temple, believing it to be a place his "Yun sister," Long Weiyun, would frequent. Despite his deteriorating health, he stubbornly waited for her, eventually collapsing from the cold. Long Weiyun, the Dragon demon, did arrive and, seeing Rumu huddled on the ground, she tenderly lit a bonfire for him.
However, she could not bring herself to meet him face-to-face, feeling unworthy until she found a way to atone for having hurt him in the past. She draped her cloak over Rumu before quietly leaving. Upon waking, Rumu found the cloak and realized Long Weiyun had been there. Crying, he rushed into the courtyard, but it was empty. He called out for his "Sister," pleading for her to meet him, assuring her he had never blamed her.
Her lingering voice, however, reminded him that "the past is gone. Let bygones be bygones." Rumu, realizing he had just missed her, vowed to find her. Back at the Blue Sky Convention, Wangquan Hongye addressed the assembled families. He publicly vouched for Rumu, explaining that he had been threatened and framed by his father, Quan Jingting. He proposed dropping the charges against Rumu, which was accepted.
He then announced that the "mind battle" portion of the Blue Sky Convention, originally intended for participants to interact with the Third Young Master of Aolai's secret stone, would be postponed until the next convention due to the recent events. The secret stone would be temporarily stored at Wangquan Manor under his care.
However, the secret stone then began to vibrate and project a prophecy: images of the Heavenly Gate, followed by a figure resembling Wangquan Fugui wielding the Heaven-and-Earth Strike. Attendees interpreted this as a prophecy that someone would master thirteen forms of the Heaven-and-Earth Strike, break the Heavenly Gate, and release destructive entities from beyond the bound, specifically implicating the Soldier, Wangquan Fugui.
Far away, a group of antagonists observed the prophecy, believing that capturing the Soldier would fulfill their "Madam's" wish to break the bound. They were commanded to acquire Wangquan Fugui at any cost. Inside the Yiqi Alliance, Wangquan Hongye immediately ordered a lockdown, prohibiting anyone from leaving Wangquan Manor until a decision could be made regarding the prophecy. Other family heads questioned Wangquan Hongye's silence, recalling past tragedies where Yiqi Alliance elites were lost beyond the bound.
Wangquan Hongye vehemently denied that Wangquan Fugui was the one in the prophecy, as he had not yet mastered the Heaven-and-Earth Strike. Master Sima openly criticized Wangquan Hongye's past leadership, blaming him for the Yiqi Alliance's decline and suggesting that Soldiers were unnecessary. Wangquan Hongye admitted his past failures but emphasized the unimaginable horrors beyond the bound, asserting that the bound must not be broken and that Soldiers existed precisely for that defense.
He dismissed the idea of Soldiers having inner demons. He then fiercely defended Wangquan Fugui, declaring that his family would handle the prophecy and challenging anyone who dared to question the Soldier to a duel. He warned that any further criticism of the Soldier would be seen as an act of war against the Wangquan family. Wangquan Hongye declared that if the prophecy truly came to pass, he, Wangquan Hongye, would personally resolve it. He then left with Wangquan Fugui.
Wangquan Fugui expressed his appreciation to his father for defending him, admitting it was the first time he had ever seen such care. Wangquan Hongye responded cryptically, saying their path was dark and meaning only came with seeing the light. Later, Wangquan Fugui apologized for his earlier defiance, and Wangquan Hongye clarified that he had never intended to punish Rumu, adding that Fugui had never truly understood him.
Wangquan Fugui reiterated his desire to explore the outside world, believing that experiencing life beyond the Cold Pool was crucial to mastering the Heaven-and-Earth Strike. However, Wangquan Hongye dismissed his request, stating that the Spirit Stone's prophecy was infallible. A heartbroken Wangquan Fugui concluded that his father did not truly trust him and only saw him as a "sword for killing," despite his earlier defense.
Wangquan Hongye insisted that Wangquan Manor was Wangquan Fugui's entire world, and only by staying within these confines could the prophecy be averted. Feeling disheartened, Wangquan Fugui sat alone at his mother's tomb, questioning if he was truly just a weapon in his father's eyes. Qingtong found him there and expressed her worry. Pointing out the bamboo forest his father had planted for his mother, she argued that Wangquan Hongye's defense of him at the convention proved his love.
Qingtong reassured him that his mother in heaven would be proud. Wangquan Fugui agreed to toast his mother with tea. Qingtong, explaining it was Winter Solstice, a day when some people set off firecrackers to honor ancestors, decided to light the longest string of firecrackers for Wangquan Fugui's mother, to let her know her son was well and not lonely.
Meanwhile, the Spider Cave Master, upon learning that Qingtong had transformed into human form and was loyal to the Soldier, used Qingtong's younger brother as leverage. She gave Qingtong a vial of "Seven Regrets" powder, instructing her to "deal with the Soldier" by Winter Solstice. She threatened that if Qingtong failed, his brother's legs would be pulled off, reminding her that he "only has one life."
Wangquan Fugui, in a moment of kindness, encouraged Qingtong to practice her writing, especially her name. He told her she possessed clear vision and a warm heart, and that mastering her name would allow her to leave her unique mark on her brocade. Qingtong, torn by her loyalty to Wangquan Fugui and the threat to her brother, tearfully poured the "Seven Regrets" powder into a candle.
As Wangquan Fugui prepared for rest, Qingtong bid him goodnight, knowing she had to leave. Soon after, Wangquan Fugui, inhaling the toxic smoke, grew drowsy and fell asleep at his desk. Separately, Feng Tingyun, who had found a large cocoon, opened it to reveal a male spider, which she promptly caged. When the male spider awoke, she aggressively interrogated him, demanding to know his identity, who sent him, and what he was doing outside her senior's room. Initially resistant, the male spider eventually begged for his life, promising to reveal everything he knew.
