Sword and Beloved Episode 15 Recap
> Sword and Beloved Recap
Wangquan Hongye, to avoid harming innocent lives, ordered his subordinates not to draw their swords, effectively surrendering. Quan Jingting, his cousin, sneered, telling him he would not let him die so easily. Meanwhile, Quan Rumu found Fugui and Qing Tong. Fugui, surprised by Rumu's grim condition, asked if his father, Quan Jingting, was responsible. Seeing no denial, Rumu's pent-up frustration led him to cough up a mouthful of blood.
Fugui, noticing Rumu's severe injuries and destroyed meridians, pressed him for details, asking who had inflicted such wounds. Quan Rumu, knowing his time might be short, decided to tell Fugui the full story of himself and Long Weiyun. Many years ago, Quan Jingting had led a brutal campaign in the Western Regions, slaughtering numerous dragon demons, a species that had thrived there for generations. Among his victims was Long Weiyun's mother, Long Yun.
She had tragically fallen in love with Quan Jingting, only to be betrayed and subjected to unimaginable torture before her death. Seeking revenge, Long Weiyun abducted Quan Rumu, hoping to exchange him for her mother's remains. However, Quan Jingting showed no concern for his son's life, rendering Long Weiyun's plan futile. Young Rumu, who suffered from asthma, experienced a severe attack during his captivity. Long Weiyun, unable to bear his suffering, used her innate dragon healing powers to save him.
From that day on, Rumu, an outcast from his own family, clung to Long Weiyun, following her devotedly for over a decade and gradually falling deeply in love with her. Upon realizing Long Weiyun's deep desire to reclaim her mother's bones, Quan Rumu returned to his home and retrieved the skull, all that remained of Long Yun. Long Weiyun placed her mother's skull in the Dragon Cave, where fragmented memories of Long Yun's suffering surfaced.
These memories revealed how Quan Jingting had not only brutally scraped off her dragon scales but also repeatedly severed her regrowing dragon horns. Witnessing her mother's agonizing screams, Long Weiyun was consumed by rage, vowing to kill Quan Jingting. In the Dragon Cave, a dying dragon spirit entrusted Long Weiyun with the Water-Control Orb, a revered dragon treasure containing centuries of accumulated spiritual power.
The spirit warned her that while the orb possessed immense power, it was also a double-edged sword, capable of turning its wielder into a demon if not properly controlled. However, driven by her desire for vengeance, Long Weiyun, whose spiritual energy was still unstable, attempted to forcefully absorb the orb. This led to a severe backlash. To continue absorbing the orb's power, she followed an ancient teaching and planted a Love Gu on Quan Rumu, who deeply loved her.
This parasitic insect would transfer all the pain of the orb's backlash to Rumu. Despite the excruciating pain he endured as Long Weiyun absorbed the Water-Control Orb, Rumu accepted it, understanding her hatred stemmed from his father's cruelty and finding the physical suffering preferable to seeing her silently endure her hatred. Long Weiyun eventually absorbed the Water-Control Orb, but her control over its power remained unstable. Fueled by vengeance, she confronted Quan Jingting.
During their battle, the orb's sinister energy erupted, transforming her into a terrifying, powerful berserk dragon. Seeing her lose control, Quan Rumu desperately intervened. He knew he could not allow Long Weiyun to become a murderer of innocents. He absorbed her devastating blow, which shattered all his meridians, but his sacrifice ultimately forced the Water-Control Orb out of Long Weiyun's body. He then used the last of his spiritual energy to save her life before collapsing, exhausted and unconscious.
The Water-Control Orb vanished without a trace. When Rumu awoke, Long Weiyun had already left, burdened by guilt. Since then, Quan Rumu has embarked on a journey to find her. Fugui, listening to Rumu's story, believed his friend's sacrifices were not worth it, arguing that Rumu, who had comprehended his own Way of the Sword, should not let his life end this way. But Rumu maintained that he was content with his choices.
Before resting, Rumu asked Fugui to promise that if he ever met Long Weiyun, he would tell her that Quan Rumu never hated her. He then performed a single sword move for Fugui, stating that his sword essence was "Live freely and carelessly; show gratitude before it's expected." Unlike Fugui's profound and world-bearing sword essence, his own lacked ambition. Later, news arrived from the Silk Cave: something had happened at Wangquan Manor.
Wangquan Hongye's whereabouts were unknown, and Quan Jingting had seized control as the new family master. Fugui prepared to leave to intervene, but Rumu cautioned him, explaining that if he were to succeed in rescuing Wangquan Hongye, he would be branded a traitor to the Yiqi Alliance, or worse, he could fall into a trap. Fugui acknowledged that neither outcome was acceptable, as the Yiqi Alliance's change of leadership at this time would surely plunge the world into chaos.
Quan Jingting, now firmly in power at Wangquan Manor, addressed his new subjects, acknowledging that many in the Yiqi Alliance doubted his right to the position. He declared that he would show everyone, human or demon, the fate of those who opposed him. He then commanded his forces to charge into the Eastern City to avenge it, stating that every demon found would be killed. From that day forward, the Yiqi Alliance would "exterminate every demon without exception."
