Following Nan Xiangwan's suggestion, Lin Xiaoran devises a mischievous plan to ignite competitive spirit within Class Seven. He issues a provocative challenge, posing as a student from their rival, Class Two. In the message, addressed to "all classmates of Class Seven," the supposed Class Two representative announces their challenge for the upcoming sports meeting, urging Class Seven to prepare well so Class Two wouldn't win too easily.
This bold act, perceived as a "naked humiliation," ignites a furious uproar among Class Seven's students, who unite in chants of "Class Seven is invincible!" and vow to take on the sports meeting. The commotion echoes throughout the third-year level, capturing the attention of Class Two. Their monitor, Liu Yubai, agitated, confronts his classmates, demanding to know who issued such a challenge to Class Seven, calling it an act of "belittling themselves."
Despite their fiery slogans, Class Seven faces a severe lack of sign-ups for the sports meeting, with only Jiang Daling volunteering. Other students offer excuses, with Jiajiao stating that running "doesn't look good," while Yu Meili, the class monitor, claims she is "not good at sports" and can only serve as "the most beautiful cheerleader." Recognizing the need for participants, Lin Xiaoran discusses strategies with Nan Xiangwan and Jiang Daling. They decide to target individual students, starting with Yu Meili.
That evening, as Nan Xiangwan and Yu Meili walk home, Lin Xiaoran secretly follows and jumps out, startling them. As preparations intensify, Jiang Daling discovers that her band's crucial rematch conflicts with the relay race. Torn, she decides to withdraw from the relay. However, Nan Xiangwan, aware of Jiang Daling's future potential, strongly encourages her not to miss the competition and offers to run in her place.
Nan Xiangwan then demonstrates a surprising speed, completing 100 meters in a remarkable 14. 35 seconds and revealing her past experience on a junior high track team. She agrees to run the relay, provided the entire class commits to serious study. Just as the class is training diligently, Wang Qibei, frustrated that their training is disrupting academics, announces the cancellation of Class Seven's participation.
Undeterred, Nan Xiangwan confronts him and proposes a bold agreement: she guarantees Class Seven will win first place in the sports meeting AND secure a top-five grade-level position in the upcoming mock exam. If they fail, she will accept any punishment. Wang Qibei accepts the deal, and Lin Xiaoran immediately orders the class to focus on their studies.
