Xia Tian's lips were pale, and her condition rapidly worsened before she eventually passed out in the passenger seat of Xu Zehao's car. Rushing to the nearest hospital, Xu Zehao learned from the doctor that Xia Tian had experienced a temporary fainting spell, likely due to extreme mental stress and pressure. The doctor asked if anything significant had occurred before her collapse.
Xu Zehao mentioned a minor driving accident but couldn't shake the feeling that her distress stemmed from the trauma related to her father's accident, a memory triggered earlier at their old camping spot. Reflecting on his past relationship with Xia Tian, Xu Zehao realized he had often dismissed her pleas for help, claiming to be busy with work, even during what might have been her most desperate times.
He lamented that despite countless "I love yous" during their five years together, he now understood he never truly knew what love was. Meanwhile, Guan Xin was at the welfare house and couldn't reach Xia Tian on the phone, growing concerned. Lu Xi offered to record the soothing sounds of the welfare house, suggesting they could help if he suffered from insomnia.
She also offered to record bird calls the next morning to make an alarm for him, noting how unique the acoustics were. Guan Xin, though distracted, found the sounds calming. Xuan, upon learning that Lu Xi's potential adoptive family had rejected her, was determined to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor for her sake and pleaded with his teacher to help him get adopted. Lu Xi, in the present, confided in Guan Xin that she intentionally kept her scar, hoping it would be a mark for her brother to recognize her by. She believed he must be living a wonderful life, having "replaced" hers.
Back at the hospital, Xia Tian awoke to find Xu Zehao sleeping by her bedside. Feeling weak, she only wanted to go home, and Xu Zehao agreed to take her after her IV drip was finished. As they arrived home, Guan Xin, who had been unable to reach Xia Tian and had just dropped off Lu Xi and Lili, was there. He immediately took Xia Tian from Xu Zehao, holding her protectively.
Xiao Song stepped in, officially warning Xu Zehao to stay away from Xia Tian, stating that Xia Tian had been under immense mental pressure since he re-entered her life, and she regretted taking on the project. She made it clear that she and Yu Hui would accompany Xia Tian on future factory visits. Guan Xin diligently cared for Xia Tian, making her porridge and tidying up. Xia Tian sent him a thank you message, and after much hesitation, he replied to her. He questioned his own pursuit of Xia Tian, recognizing Guan Xin's deep affection and attentiveness towards her. His thoughts were interrupted by a call from Ms. An, his business partner, who announced her return in two days, but Xu Zehao showed little interest in making arrangements. Once Xia Tian felt better, her suspicions resurfaced. She secretly took Guan Xin's car keys and found a takeaway cup with lipstick marks and navigation history showing a route to Wandao Development Zone and Qingshan Welfare House—not a "seminar about burn recovery" as Guan Xin had claimed.
Startled by Xiao Song and Dong Hao, who had secretly followed her, Xia Tian expressed her frustration, realizing Guan Xin had lied again. Dong Hao pointed out that a welfare house seemed an unlikely place for a romantic rendezvous, but Xiao Song retorted that men could cheat anywhere. Back at home, Xia Tian confronted Guan Xin about his whereabouts.
He explained that he and Lu Xi had visited the welfare house to see children awaiting surgery, as they lacked family support and traveling to the hospital would be difficult. Xia Tian accused him of being kind and considerate to everyone except her. Guan Xin explained that he was withholding some information due to his mother's feelings, promising to tell her everything after discussing it with his mother.
He asked for her trust, asserting there was nothing romantic between him and Lu Xi. They argued, with Guan Xin pointing out Xia Tian's own frequent meetings with Xu Zehao. Xiao Song and Dong Hao nervously ate breakfast while the couple bickered. Guan Xin brought Xia Tian porridge in the bedroom, reassuring her that they would never break up and promising to only care about her.
They reconciled, accidentally spilling the porridge, then were later seen happily washing and airing bedsheets together in the sun, much to the amazement and envy of Xiao Song and Dong Hao, who couldn't believe they had made up so quickly after their intense argument. Xia Tian, identifying herself to Lu Xi, bluntly stated that Guan Xin was unable to join them because she and Guan Xin had just argued over her, and therefore he had to eat lunch with Xia Tian. She told Lu Xi to make her own lunch arrangements. Lu Xi was visibly angered by the call. Later, while Xia Tian was at work, she was greeted by Ms. An, an acquaintance.
