Hua Yecheng returned to the temple to find Chi Yu tending to Wen Suxi. He sent Shancai and Fang Ye away, who had been discussing their desire to return to Beidou after experiencing hardships on Earth. Wen Suxi, waking from a nightmare, immediately checked her clothes and, upon seeing Chi Yu, anxiously told him to leave. Outside, Chi Yu spoke with Hua Yecheng. Hua Yecheng remarked that Chi Yu seemed disconsolate, perhaps because he was in love.

He expressed his belief that people in Beidou were happier than those on Earth, who were prone to capricious moods. Hua Yecheng also shared his perspective that while others might cherish new beginnings, he appreciated endings and death, as they made the present precious. He worried about the humans they left behind.

Hua Yecheng questioned whether their presence on Earth was a mistake, suggesting that if the Sun-Moon Jade hadn't been lost three thousand years ago, they wouldn't have come to Earth, and Chi Yu wouldn't have met Ji Wan. He recounted how Chi Yu saving Ji Wan in one battle inadvertently led to her sacrificing her life by taking three arrows for him in the Battle of Zhao River.

Hua Yecheng cautioned Chi Yu against impulsive actions, like confronting Tang Mao, as cosmic energy is conserved, and they could not predict future consequences. He also reminded Chi Yu that Wen Suxi had two more calamities ahead, and his Pen of Constellation was nearly depleted. Chi Yu was deep in thought. He then saw Wen Suxi under the Moon Elder tree.

Wen Suxi was still troubled by what happened, stating that she couldn't forget despite Chi Yu’s reassurance that she would. Chi Yu gently told her to regard it as a nightmare, promising that brightness would come. She then asked if the time they spent together was also a dream. Chi Yu looked at her tenderly, promising, "Trust me, as long as I'm here, I won't let anything bad happen to you."

He then expressed his wish that if their time together was indeed a dream, neither of them would ever wake up, and he kissed her. Meanwhile, Duo La and Hu Dongkai drove home. Duo La thanked Hu Dongkai for everything he did that night. Surprised, Hu Dongkai seized the opportunity to suggest they start as friends and get along well, which Duo La agreed to, but clarified that it only included sending messages, not making calls.

At two-thirty in the morning, You You and Lin Haoshu were anxiously waiting for Wen Suxi, unable to reach her or Tang Mao. Just then, Hua Yecheng drove Chi Yu and Wen Suxi home. Lin Haoshu, concerned, pressed for details, but Hua Yecheng casually explained that Wen Suxi had too much to drink and advised them to ask Chi Yu for more specifics.

Lin Haoshu questioned why Chi Yu and Hua Yecheng brought her back if Tang Mao had picked her up, prompting Hua Yecheng to tease him about being jealous. Hua Yecheng told Chi Yu that for their kind, love might be meant to be forgotten rather than remembered, so that when they left, it would be as if nothing had happened for those left behind.

The next morning, Tang Mao awoke to find bloodstains on his shirt but could not recall the details of the previous night, only vaguely remembering taking Wen Suxi to the hotel. He was puzzled about how she had left and instructed his assistant, Jiang Yu, to investigate. Jiang Yu reported that the hotel's surveillance footage showed Tang Mao and Wen Suxi entering the room around 9:30 PM, but no one saw Wen Suxi leave.

He confirmed he had already deleted the surveillance video. Wen Suxi also woke with no memory of the previous night, her recollection of the events having been erased by Chi Yu. You You informed Wen Suxi that Chi Yu and Hua Yecheng found her and Tang Mao drunk by the roadside, and Chi Yu carried her home. Wen Suxi smiled sweetly upon hearing this.

Later, Wen Suxi encountered Tang Mao and thanked him for his help the previous night, mentioning You You had told her about it. Sensing her memory loss, Tang Mao did not press the issue. However, Wen Suxi innocently mentioned that Chi Yu had sent her home, which caught Tang Mao off guard. Realizing Chi Yu's involvement, Tang Mao instructed Jiang Yu to arrange a meeting with Chi Yu.

Around the same time, Xiaobai, who was staying at Wen Suxi’s house, thanked Wang Xiaomi for helping him resolve his inner conflicts. Looking at some notes on her hand, Wang Xiaomi decided to seek out Chi Yu. When she arrived at Wen Suxi’s house, only Lin Haoshu was there. She first asked for Suxi and then Chi Yu, referring to him as her "master." Lin Haoshu, evidently jealous, questioned her purpose.

Lin Haoshu attempted to leave for the supermarket alone, but Wang Xiaomi insisted on accompanying him. Chi Yu met Tang Mao as requested. Tang Mao questioned Chi Yu about where he had picked up Wen Suxi, to which Chi Yu vaguely replied he picked her up from wherever Tang Mao had taken her.

Tang Mao then confessed he only remembered doing "fun things" and apologized for Chi Yu having to clean up their mess, but stressed that he didn't remember seeing Chi Yu, and asked if Wen Suxi also forgot. Chi Yu confirmed that Wen Suxi had forgotten to spare her pain, but that Tang Mao had forgotten to prevent him from fearing to see Chi Yu again.

Tang Mao then asserted that Chi Yu was only there for Wen Suxi and warned him not to cross him, adding that he knew Chi Yu couldn't truly harm him. Tang Mao threatened to call Wen Suxi for dinner to "help her recall something." In response, Chi Yu sternly warned Tang Mao not to "have designs on her" or he would "teach him a lesson."

Chi Yu then produced Qian Ning's phone, revealing that Qian Ning died in a car accident and Tang Mao was the last person he contacted. Chi Yu directly accused Tang Mao of being involved in the leaked copy incident and deliberately harming Wen Suxi. Tang Mao dismissed the phone as a mere threat. Chi Yu calmly stated he didn't need to threaten him, but warned him, "If you hurt Suxi once more, I will ruin you."

Tang Mao then, intrigued, questioned why Chi Yu would conceal the truth for him if he knew everything, and what Chi Yu was truly afraid of. Later, Wen Suxi was on the phone with You You, discussing a screening, when she unexpectedly encountered Chi Yu on the street. She initially wanted to thank him, but he was unusually cold.

He claimed he didn't want to see her and asserted that his past kindness was merely a calculated move to get her to promote him as an actor. He admitted that he had helped her after she lost everything due to her work, to forge a closer relationship, which in turn helped him secure the lead role in the new film. Heartbroken by his words, Wen Suxi proposed terminating their contract, offering compensation.

To her dismay, Chi Yu readily agreed, remarking that he had heard he needed a more influential agency anyway. Devastated, Wen Suxi cried out, asking why he had appeared in her life for no reason. She walked away, passing by a claw machine they once played, recalling all their shared memories and the tender moments when Chi Yu had wished their time together was a dream from which they would never wake. Chi Yu's harsh change in attitude was a deliberate act to push her away, hoping to minimize her pain when he eventually had to leave.
