Blossom in Heart Episode 3 Recap
> Blossom in Heart Recap
The Lang family's cosmetic workshop, Lang Lichun, faced a severe crisis. Lang Sinian, the head of the family, observed declining performance in the ledgers and feared for the renowned Lang family brand, holding Lang Yuexuan responsible for production planning. The Shi Hanglu Workshop exacerbated the situation by offering significantly higher monthly wages, leading to a massive outflow of skilled female workers from Lang Lichun.
This caused a drop in monthly production and jeopardized the completion of orders destined for the South Pacific. Lang Yuexuan, however, presented his father with innovative ideas, which Lang Sinian found reasonable. Still, Lang Sinian also wished to revive the family's ancestral "Hongyan Rouge," an imperial-used product with a complex crafting process that traditionally required unmarried maidens for its production.
Against this backdrop, Gu Haitang arrived, driven by a desire to find answers to questions in her heart, even though the Shi family's workshop offered better pay. Her first attempt to apply at Lang Lichun ended abruptly when she encountered Lang Yuexuan, who was driving the Shi family's young master to the store to purchase cosmetics. Their initial meeting was fraught with disagreement, halting Haitang's application at the threshold.
To address the crisis, the Lang family workshop launched a recruitment drive, emphasizing their renowned ancestral "Hongyan Rouge" brand. They specifically sought unmarried women of suitable age. On the first day of recruitment, Lang Yuexuan intercepted Haitang. During her interview, she also encountered Lu Fanzhen, whom she had previously saved backstage at an adult ceremony. Lang Yuexuan, perhaps recalling previous instances where Haitang had rejected his invitations, offered her direct entry.
However, Haitang preferred to earn her place through the interview process. Lang Yuexuan then challenged her to demonstrate her exceptional skills within one minute. Haitang impressed him by using an ordinary face powder to create a beautiful visual effect, showcasing her creativity and innovative talent. They reconciled, and her ingenuity secured her a position at Lang Lichun. Unbeknownst to them, among the successful recruits was Xincao, a spy dispatched by the Shi boss to disrupt the Lang family's operations.
After the interview, Lang Yuexuan, grateful for Haitang's earlier act of saving his father, followed her home in his car, intending to formally express his thanks. In an alley near her home, a woman named Yi Rongrong approached Haitang, requesting her to become her personal makeup artist. At this moment, Haitang's brother, Gu Xiahe, appeared and revealed that Yi Rongrong had falsely accused him and Gu Furen, their mother, of stealing her belongings.
Yi Rongrong dismissed this incident as unrelated, but Haitang, firm in her principles, refused her request. When Lang Yuexuan subsequently visited Haitang's home, Gu Furen initially extended a warm invitation for dinner but then abruptly told him it was getting late and he should leave. It was revealed that Gu Furen had been experiencing intermittent periods of clarity and confusion since her husband's disappearance.
On her first day of work, Lang Yuexuan introduced the new female workers to the glorious history of Lang family's cosmetics, with particular emphasis on the importance of the lost imperial "Hongyan Rouge." He explained that the authenticity of the rouge's red color was paramount. For the initial three days, the workers were tasked with studying color cards to practice distinguishing various shades of red, a skill essential for selecting rose raw materials.
Haitang spent the entire day engrossed in the color cards, so much so that everything appeared red to her upon returning home. Meanwhile, Gu Xiahe, who lacked the money for schooling, eagerly looked into a classroom. Haitang had promised him that he could attend school once she received her wages. As Xiahe watched the students, a passing female student accused him of peeking, startling him and causing him to fall.
In the process, he accidentally caught a glimpse under her skirt, and the girl left in shame. Haitang later went to the school, having discussed Xiahe's enrollment with Director Yi. However, Director Yi now refused admission, citing Xiahe's "personal conduct issues." As Haitang pondered this unexpected setback, Yi Rongrong appeared, revealing herself to be Director Yi's daughter.
She confessed that she had reported Xiahe for "improper conduct" as an act of revenge, intending to make Haitang experience the pain of rejection. Despite the injustice, Haitang remained determined to clear her brother's name. Later, Hua Jili, Lang Yuexuan's friend from his study-abroad days, arrived at Kunyang pier to collect a shipment purchased from Lang Lichun. During the unloading, a worker accidentally dropped a box.
Lang Yuexuan immediately inspected the contents and discovered inferior materials mixed into the face powder, indicating that the goods had been swapped. This alarming discovery instilled a sense of dread in him. He promptly returned to discuss countermeasures with Lang Sinian, and they ordered the female workers to work through the night for urgent re-production. Lang Yuexuan foresaw that following an upcoming socialite's coming-of-age ceremony, the troubles for the Lang family were far from over.
