Chang An and Wan Mei were attempting to flee Gui Hua City when Xing Feng intercepted them. He stopped them, informing Wan Mei that Wan Xiang had already set out hours ago to assassinate Fang Ying Ying and that only Wan Mei could save her. Meanwhile, Wan Xiang, acting on Cha Luo's orders, disguised herself as a new servant and presented a specially treated dress to Fang Ying Ying, convincing her to wear it.

Wan Xiang told Fang Ying Ying that her master had a gift for her at a dyer in the suburb and that a ride was ready. After Fang Ying Ying put on the dress, she began to feel uncontrollably hot at the dyer's, pouring water over herself. Huang Yu's two sons, who had been placed there, saw Fang Ying Ying in her weakened state and assaulted her.

During the attack, Fang Ying Ying recalled being sold at the age of eleven, enduring two years of having her blood drawn, and then being defiled, all while desperately hoping her father would return. Wan Mei and Chang An arrived to find Fang Ying Ying injured. Enraged, Wan Mei killed Huang Yu's two sons. When she moved to kill their innocent bookboy, Chang An stopped her, urging her not to become like the very men she abhorred.

Shortly after, Fang Ge arrived, heartbroken at the sight of his sister. As Fang Ge cradled Fang Ying Ying, Huang Yu arrived with a group of martial artists. Discovering his sons dead, Huang Yu was furious, refusing to let Fang Ge take Fang Ying Ying to a doctor. To ensure Fang Ge could escape with his sister, Chang An and Wan Mei subdued Huang Yu, allowing them to depart.

On the way to seek medical help, Fang Ying Ying regained consciousness and asked Fang Ge to put her down. She then tearfully confessed that she remembered everything: how her father had tricked her into believing he was buying an abacus, only to sell her. She recounted being bled for two years and subsequently defiled, feeling utterly soiled.

Fang Ying Ying asked her brother to remember her as she was at eleven years old, before succumbing to her injuries in his arms. Fang Ge was devastated, clutching his sister's lifeless body. Wan Mei and Chang An, having escaped their pursuers, caught up. Wan Mei was filled with self-reproach for failing to save Fang Ying Ying.

In his grief and anger, Fang Ge drew his sword, aiming to kill Wan Mei, but Chang An bravely blocked the blade with his bare hand. Fang Ge, lamenting the supposed loyalty of Gui Hua City, let out a cry of despair before leaving with Ying Ying's body. Soon after, Yue Ying found Chang An and Wan Mei and brought them before Prince. Upon their return, Prince questioned why they had left without a word.

Chang An explained that Wan Mei was too kind for Gui Hua City and he intended to take her away. Prince then presented the Wordless Edict, revealing Chang An's true identity as its inheritor. Recognizing Prince's intentions, Chang An agreed to an alliance to defeat Yue Qing Ya, but only on the condition that Wan Mei be allowed to leave Gui Hua City freely and never be troubled again. However, Wan Mei requested to speak with Chang An privately.

She reflected on the injustice of Fang Ying Ying's death and stated that instead of leaving, she intended to stay and become the new City Lady to change the existing corruption. Chang An, seeing her resolve, affirmed his support, telling her he would be satisfied as long as she lived the life she desired and pursued what she loved. Meanwhile, in the imperial palace, the King summoned both Yue Qing Ya and Prince.

The King, showing great favor to Prince, presented him with a Lotus Token, granting him unprecedented power to mobilize silver and troops across various prefectures. Yue Qing Ya, seething with suppressed anger, offered a cold congratulations. Outside the palace, Huang Yu mourned his sons, vowing revenge.

True to his word, Huang Yu, now the leader of the martial arts alliance, led a sweeping campaign that eradicated the Bloody Lotus Cult's branches and main headquarters, effectively dissolving the cult and nullifying Yue Qing Ya's lifelong efforts. In Gui Hua City, Wan Mei was promoted to Senior Killer for her contributions, a decision that ignited Cha Luo's fierce jealousy. Wan Mei, however, chose not to move into the Senior Killers' House, preferring to stay in her current residence.

From Xing Feng, she learned that Chang An had been afflicted with the Heart-biting Worm. The revelation deeply pained Wan Mei, as she realized the immense sacrifice Chang An had made for her, but Chang An reassured her that the pain was preferable to the agony of her previous rejection in Ling City. Cha Luo confronted Prince, venting her frustrations about Wan Mei's promotion and implying that her own position as City Lady was becoming meaningless.

Prince, however, remained unmoved and ignored her complaints, leading Cha Luo to storm off. Moments after Cha Luo's departure, Chang An arrived to speak with Prince, expressing concern for Wan Mei's safety in Gui Hua City, particularly after Yue Ying's anxious visit to Wan Mei's residence. Prince then revealed a long-held secret: Yue Ying had been seeking to extract the Nine Lives pill from Wan Mei's heart, as it was the only cure for his own heart disease.

To protect Wan Mei and ensure Yue Ying would no longer target her, Prince made a drastic decision. He consumed another half of the Foxfire Toxin, rendering his condition incurable even by the Nine Lives pill. Yue Ying, witnessing his self-sacrifice, questioned why Prince would go to such lengths for Wan Mei, who seemed to hold no such affection for him. Prince simply replied that some things in the world cannot be explained.

He stated that a month was not a short time and that he would find a cure, but even if he failed, he had no regrets, as he had lived a long and arduous life and the "show" he had been longing for was finally about to begin.
