Bloody Romance Episode 21 Recap
> Bloody Romance Recap
With Cha Wu now dead, Cha Luo gloated over Cha Ru, her only remaining contemporary among the top assassins, who was held captive. Despite her white hair and disfigured face, Cha Ru mocked Cha Luo, asserting that Cha Luo's increasing temper was a sign of the King Witchcraft poison taking a toll on her. Cha Ru further ridiculed Cha Luo by revealing that her lover, Xing Feng, was also afflicted with a poison.
This meant that although they were close, they could never be intimate, rendering Xing Feng no better than a eunuch. Enraged by Cha Ru's words, Cha Luo nearly killed her but stopped herself from fulfilling Cha Ru's wish for a quick death. Instead, still seething, she unleashed her fury on two of Liu Guang's arriving subordinates, killing them on the spot.
Liu Guang, despite seeing her subordinates brutally murdered, could only show respect to Cha Luo and dared not speak out. However, Liu Guang's attendant, Shi Yi, complained about Cha Luo's ruthlessness. Liu Guang, not wanting to offend Cha Luo further, immediately ordered Shi Yi to receive thirty lashes as punishment. After Shi Yi left, Liu Guang asked Chang An for his thoughts.
Chang An observed that Cha Luo's face had been fluctuating between red and white, suggesting that her recent erratic behavior was not due to a bad temper but rather the monthly backlash from the King Witchcraft. Liu Guang acknowledged Chang An's shrewdness but cautioned him to be careful with his speculations. Since Chang An's departure, Wan Mei had been alone. Now, Er Yue was assigned as her new shadow.
Wan Mei was initially unwilling to accept him because he had previously colluded with Wan Xiang to bully her. Er Yue desperately knelt and pleaded with Wan Mei, explaining that if she didn't accept him, Xing Feng would have him killed. Wan Mei, understanding the rules of Gui Hua City, eventually agreed to keep him but sternly told him to stop his obsequious behavior. Soon after, Chang An arrived to deliver some items to Wan Mei.
Er Yue attempted to make things difficult for Chang An, but Wan Mei stopped him, asserting that Er Yue had no business interfering with matters of Ji Gu Pavilion. Wan Mei then tried to dismiss Chang An by pointedly asking him to help her with her hair, which he refused, stating he was no longer her shadow. Annoyed, Wan Mei told Chang An to leave.
Just as Chang An was about to depart, Liu Guang arrived and assigned a new mission to Wan Mei: assassinate Qin Yu Sang and frame Fang Ge. Er Yue was horrified, knowing that Qin Yu Sang had little interest in women and possessed formidable martial arts skills, making the task incredibly dangerous. He knelt and implored Wan Mei not to accept it. However, Wan Mei remained resolute and accepted the difficult mission.
Seeing Wan Mei's determination, Er Yue turned to Chang An, begging him to persuade Wan Mei. Wan Mei, exasperated, angrily ordered Er Yue to stand up and cease his meddling. Liu Guang watched the scene unfold with a subtle smile. She offered to lend Chang An to Wan Mei if she needed assistance with the mission. However, Chang An steadfastly refused, declaring that as Liu Guang's shadow, he must always remain by her side.
That night, Liu Guang summoned Chang An to her room, desiring his companionship. When Chang An remained unyielding, Liu Guang forced him to ingest a potent aphrodisiac called "Li Sao." As the drug coursed through his body, Chang An's face flushed crimson, and his mind filled with images of Wan Mei. To escape the torment, he desperately used a dagger to wound himself, causing him to lose consciousness.
Meanwhile, Gong Zi learned that Cha Luo had assigned the assassination of Qin Yu Sang to Wan Mei. He was surprised, having expected a high-level mission like this to go to a supreme assassin like Liu Guang. Concerned for Wan Mei's safety, Gong Zi disguised himself and secretly visited her to offer guidance on her martial arts, instructing her to meet him at Ting Zhu House the following morning.
The next day, Wan Mei went to Ting Zhu House to meet Gong Zi, where she learned more about Qin Yu Sang's nature. Gong Zi revealed that Qin Yu Sang was a martial arts enthusiast with no interest in women, and that to capture his attention, Wan Mei would need to appeal to his passion.
Gong Zi then taught Wan Mei a rare technique called the Shen Yin sword style, instructing her to combine it with the "Hover between Life and Death" technique. After practicing, Wan Mei set off to Qin Yu Sang's residence. Upon her arrival, she found Qin Yu Sang overwhelmed by numerous martial artists seeking an audience.
Wan Mei proposed a solution: have all visitors write down their intentions and the martial arts secrets they could offer on paper, allowing Qin Yu Sang to review them and decide whom to meet. Qin Yu Sang found her suggestion practical and agreed to implement it. Wan Mei then seized the opportunity, writing only the character "Human" on her paper. Qin Yu Sang was intrigued but, seeing that Wan Mei was a woman, initially dismissed her. However, his eyes lit up when he noticed the Shen Yin sword she was carrying, and he immediately changed his mind, agreeing to meet her in his study.
