Wen Tao arrived on his motorcycle to find Linlin and Fang Yuke lying on the ground after a car accident. The driver, more concerned about his vehicle than their injuries, accused them of rushing out suddenly and wanted compensation. Wen Tao immediately stepped in, telling the driver he would handle the situation and urging Fang Yuke to take Linlin to the hospital. Fang Yuke, holding a pale Linlin, quickly carried her away.
At the hospital, Linlin was rushed into the emergency room. Fang Yuke anxiously asked the nurses about her condition, neglecting his own severe injuries. Wen Tao advised him to get treatment, promising to inform him immediately once Linlin woke up. Reluctantly, Fang Yuke went to get his wounds dressed. A doctor soon informed Wen Tao that Linlin likely had kidney stones, but they were small and could be passed naturally.
After receiving IV fluids and anti-inflammatory medication, she would recover, with the advice to drink plenty of water and do more jumping, including jump rope, to aid expulsion. Wen Tao went to check on Linlin, who had just woken up. Her first question was, "Where is Fang Yuke?" Wen Tao, visibly disappointed, told her to lie still and that he would go check on Fang Yuke.
He then found Fang Yuke, who had just finished getting his arm bandaged, and relayed Linlin's condition, even giving him a cup for Linlin to drink more water. Witnessing Fang Yuke and Linlin's mutual concern, Wen Tao decided to leave. As Fang Yuke was talking to Linlin, reassuring her about his hand, he suddenly collapsed, causing Linlin to cry out in distress.
A doctor explained to a worried Linlin that Fang Yuke had a mild concussion from the car accident and needed to stay overnight for observation. Linlin asked about his care, and the doctor informed her that he might experience dizziness and headaches for three to five days, but these symptoms would subside. The primary concern was his injured arm, which had sustained severe damage due to excessive stretching, originally just an ordinary fracture.
Linlin watched Fang Yuke with a pained heart, grateful for his selflessness in rescuing her from the pool and rushing her to the hospital. Later that evening, Linlin and Fang Yuke's roommates arrived at the hospital, peeking into the room before going to speak with the doctor, feeling like "mistresses" intruding on a private moment. Linlin stayed by Fang Yuke's bedside all night, gently stroking his hand and silently thanking him.
Fang Yuke awoke to find Linlin asleep next to him, tenderly brushing a strand of hair from her forehead. In another room, Ye Ruting was battling mosquitoes, frustrated that she couldn't hang her mosquito net properly and was covered in bites. Xie Ruixi arrived to help, commenting on how late it was and asking if she missed him.
He noticed her struggle with the mosquito net, which she described as "ill-designed," and offered to hang it for her, telling her to "sit here" while he worked. Once it was securely tucked in to prevent mosquitoes from entering, he prepared to leave. Ye Ruting wanted to see him out, but he told her to stay inside. After he left, a relieved Ye Ruting thanked "little mosquito" (referring to Xie Ruixi). The next morning, Linlin and Fang Yuke were discharged.
Linlin carefully attended to Fang Yuke, even opening the car door for him. Fang Yuke thanked her for her care the previous night, but Linlin felt he wouldn't have been injured if it weren't for her. He told her to get some sleep, promising to wake her when they arrived home.
Upon returning to their apartment, Fang Yuke suggested ordering takeout for their meal, but Linlin, quoting "Ms. Chen Pingping" that "takeouts will never be as healthy as the food we make ourselves," insisted they cook together. To their surprise, their roommates had decorated the apartment with a "Welcome Back" banner and a care schedule, promising to take turns looking after Fang Yuke. Lao Ding, in his enthusiasm, accidentally grabbed Fang Yuke's injured arm.
Linlin quickly intervened, pulling Zhu Li aside and telling her to take everyone away, stating that she and Fang Yuke needed to talk privately. Zhu Li, initially confused, quickly understood that "Linlin needs some space." She then took charge, gathering the others by claiming there was an "important meeting at school" that required their attendance. When Lao Ding protested about his wasted schedule, Zhu Li forcefully told him to leave, threatening him with the schedule.
As Linlin and Fang Yuke began to remove the decorations, Linlin, standing on a chair, nearly fell, but Fang Yuke caught her. Their eyes met, and he leaned in as if to kiss her, but Zhu Li burst back in, claiming she forgot her bag, interrupting their moment. Embarrassed, Linlin told Fang Yuke she wouldn't help him with the rest and that she would go cook some porridge and return later.
While Linlin was in the kitchen, Wen Tao arrived, ostensibly to congratulate Fang Yuke on his discharge. Linlin, still unwell, was preparing porridge for Fang Yuke. Wen Tao expressed concern about Linlin, asking why she was taking care of Fang Yuke while still sick.
He explained his visit as "returning the favor" to "Mr. Fang" for helping him with English, and even brought two bags of jump ropes for Linlin, saying the doctor advised her to use them to help pass her kidney stone. He then tried to quickly serve Fang Yuke some porridge. Fang Yuke noticed Linlin had burned her hand, but she downplayed it.
Fang Yuke immediately took her hand to apply medicine, but Wen Tao quickly returned with a bowl of porridge, interrupting them. Wen Tao then declared that he would take care of Fang Yuke in the coming days, even snatching tasks from Linlin to prevent Fang Yuke from receiving her care. This left Fang Yuke no opportunity to speak with Linlin directly, so he messaged her, inviting her to jump rope at 11 PM.
However, Wen Tao lingered until past 11 PM, refusing to leave. When Fang Yuke hinted he should go, Wen Tao casually revealed he had a sleeping bag and intended to stay the night, having arranged for Lin Ze to drop it off. Fang Yuke, frustrated, had no response. Linlin, waiting in her room, decided to check on Fang Yuke when he didn't come for their planned rope-jumping session.
She emerged from her room to find Wen Tao trying to help Fang Yuke unzip his jacket, creating an awkward situation. Fang Yuke told Wen Tao not to move, but Wen Tao insisted, stating he wouldn't be comfortable sleeping with his clothes on and trying to pull the zipper. Fang Yuke warned him not to come closer, but Wen Tao ignored him, claiming he was just helping with the stuck zipper, pulling at Fang Yuke's jacket as Linlin watched.
