Lu Sichen, concerned for Zhang Yuxin's health, sought her out once more and urged her to go to the hospital for prenatal care. Zhang Yuxin, however, dismissed his concern, falsely claiming she had already terminated the pregnancy. Unwilling to accept her refusal, Lu Sichen forcibly put her into a taxi, intending to take her to the hospital. Zhang Yuxin vehemently resisted, alarming the taxi driver, who, in turn, took them to the police station.
Once there, Lu Sichen attempted to pull Zhang Yuxin towards the exit to continue their journey to the hospital, and in the scuffle, they both fell to the ground. Responding police officers intervened, taking Lu Sichen into custody after Zhang Yuxin seized the opportunity to accuse him of domestic violence, hoping to finally secure a divorce. Meanwhile, Li Yunzhe, having returned to work, discovered flowers on the ground, a detail that piqued his suspicion.
He called Zhang Yuxin, who, fearful of her secret being exposed, lied that she was feeling unwell and had gone to the hospital. She implored Li Yunzhe not to mention her hospital visit to Xu Huijie. Zhang Guoguo felt dejected following the competition and Wu Lisa's hospitalization. Song Xiuhua, noticing her mood, offered words of comfort and encouraged her to approach future endeavors with greater diligence and caution.
Zhang Guoguo then tentatively asked about Xu Huijie's earlier visit to her, but Song Xiuhua skillfully changed the subject, promising to personally instruct Zhang Guoguo in embroidery. The mention of embroidery instantly lifted Zhang Guoguo's spirits. She suddenly recalled that her competition dress was still at Li Yunkai's house. After a quick farewell to Song Xiuhua, she hurried to Li Yunkai's residence. Li Yunkai, who was feeling quite hungry, was delighted to hear her knock, seeing her as his savior.
He told her he would reveal the location of her dress only after she cooked him a meal. After returning to Jinluge from the police station, Zhang Yuxin was immediately berated by Xu Huijie for her tardiness, as Xu Huijie had been waiting to begin embroidery lessons. Xu Huijie instructed her to meticulously memorize various silk thread colors and their corresponding shades, a task Zhang Yuxin found challenging, which further annoyed Xu Huijie.
Zhang Yuxin's phone then rang; it was Lu Sichen's lawyer calling to propose an out-of-court settlement, explaining that Lu Sichen’s father was ill and he wished to care for him. Zhang Yuxin agreed to the settlement, but only if Lu Sichen immediately signed the divorce papers. Zhang Yuxin then encountered Jin Zhiming, who, noticing her pale complexion, offered to cancel their plans to accompany Dong Lijun to a performance.
However, Zhang Yuxin, determined to seize every opportunity to supplant Jin Yi Bei, refused to forgo the outing. At that moment, she was struck by an intensely sharp abdominal pain. Fearing an unexpected medical emergency, she decided she could not remain in Zhenhu and took a taxi directly back to Xiping. During the ride, she called Zhang Mother, instructing her to evict Zhang Guoguo from the house and prevent anyone from contacting her.
Lu Sichen was heartbroken by Zhang Yuxin's demand for divorce, but for the sake of his ailing father, he reluctantly agreed to sign the papers. Zhang Yuxin, consumed by her escalating physical pain, abandoned Lu Sichen at the police station. As Zhang Guoguo returned home, following her usual routine, Zhang Mother promptly cast her out, barely glancing at the chicken soup Zhang Guoguo had prepared for her. They decided to contact her the following day to ascertain the situation. As Xu Huijie prepared to leave Zhang Yuxin's room, she discreetly found pregnancy medication in a drawer. Without revealing her discovery, Xu Huijie quietly departed with Jin Zhiming. After dinner, a very drunk Zhang Guoguo was stumbling uncontrollably. Li Yunkai offered to escort her home, but upon reaching the wonton shop, they found the door locked.
Li Yunkai left Zhang Guoguo sitting by the entrance while he went to seek a solution. At that moment, Song Xiuhua happened to pass by, saw the inebriated Zhang Guoguo on the ground, and took her away. When Li Yunkai returned to find Zhang Guoguo gone, he had no choice but to return to his own home. The next morning, Li Yunkai woke up at home and, still groggy, momentarily mistook Xu Xiaoqin for Zhang Guoguo.
He quickly averted his gaze, feeling a surge of guilt. Xu Xiaoqin, seizing the moment, pressed him about whether he had developed feelings for Zhang Guoguo. Li Yunkai, speaking disingenuously, denied it, trying to manage the situation. Xu Xiaoqin then attempted to delete photos of Zhang Guoguo from Li Yunkai's phone. Li Yunkai quickly snatched it back, feigning concern for Xu Xiaoqin to prevent her from interfering further.
Upon seeing Zhang Guoguo's picture on his phone, Li Yunkai's feelings for her solidified. Soon after, Li Yunkai received a phone call from his father, informing him that both his father and brother, Li Yunzhe, were already downstairs, waiting to visit. Panicked, Li Yunkai frantically tried to hide Zhang Guoguo, urging her to remain quiet and out of sight. Li Yunzhe and his father entered. Li Yunzhe remarked on Li Yunkai's nervousness, asking if he had caused trouble again.
Li Yunkai stammered denials, then attempted to divert their attention by claiming his toilet was clogged and suggesting they all go to the wonton shop downstairs for a midnight snack, where there was a restroom. He urged his father and brother to go ahead while he changed clothes. Once they left, Li Yunkai allowed Zhang Guoguo out of her hiding place, instructing her to leave quietly.
Zhang Guoguo, however, insisted on going to the wonton shop to put more stuffing in the wontons, playfully suggesting she needed to impress Li Yunkai's potential future father-in-law. Li Yunkai warned her not to say anything nonsensical to his father. After the birth, Zhang Yuxin and Zhang Mother returned home with the baby. Zhang Mother scolded Zhang Yuxin for her actions but then lovingly began preparing chicken soup for her recovery.
However, the callous Zhang Yuxin quietly abandoned the baby and slipped away. When Song Xiuhua returned with Zhang Guoguo, they were surprised to find a baby. Zhang Mother, still unaware of Zhang Yuxin's departure, brought out the chicken soup but found Zhang Yuxin gone. Faced with questions from Song Xiuhua and Zhang Guoguo, Zhang Mother nervously tried to cover up, claiming the baby was merely a found child.
Once Song Xiuhua had departed, Zhang Mother sank onto the stairs, weeping uncontrollably. Just outside, a distraught Zhang Yuxin heard her mother's cries. Despite her pain, she hardened her resolve, prioritizing her future above her mother and child, convinced that nothing could impede her path forward. Zhang Yuxin returned to Jinluge. When Xu Huijie questioned her sudden absence, Zhang Yuxin falsely claimed it was for her father's death anniversary.
To deflect suspicion about the pregnancy medication Xu Huijie had discovered, Zhang Yuxin revealed Wu Lisa's pregnancy, which successfully allayed Xu Huijie's concerns. Zhang Yuxin then attempted to express her dependence on Xu Huijie, but Xu Huijie, whose thoughts remained fixated on Jin Yi Bei, subtly rebuffed her advances. Zhang Guoguo looked at the adorable infant and asked Zhang Mother about her plans for the baby. Zhang Mother replied that she intended to send the child to a welfare institution.
Although heartbroken, Zhang Guoguo reluctantly agreed to accompany Zhang Mother. However, before they could take the baby to the welfare home, the child developed a fever and required hospitalization. It was there that Zhang Mother and Zhang Guoguo learned that, due to the premature birth and inadequate prenatal care, the baby had a congenital hearing impairment.
