Xia Yan and Han Shuang visited Zhao Xiaojun in the hospital, where Han Shuang expressed her outrage that he and Zhao Xiaolei were severely injured, while Lin Hao only sustained minor wounds. She declared her intent to sue Lin Hao and confirmed she had already hired a lawyer. Zhao Xiaojun, however, revealed he didn't wish to pursue legal action against Lin Hao, stating that despite Lin Hao hurting his sister, Lin Hao had treated him well previously.
He also felt a sense of responsibility, believing his sister wouldn't have been involved with Lin Hao if not for him. Xia Yan reassured him, explaining that surveillance footage from the bridge clearly showed Lin Hao pushing him, confirming it wasn't his fault. Unconvinced by Zhao Xiaojun's forgiving stance, Han Shuang vowed to confront Lin Hao herself.
In the hallway, Zhao Xiaolei intercepted Han Shuang, urging her not to trouble Lin Hao, which only intensified Han Shuang's frustration with the siblings' loyalty. Xia Yan then went alone to speak with Lin Hao. Defiantly, Lin Hao threatened to sue Zhao Xiaojun for his injuries. Xia Yan countered by informing him that they possessed the bridge footage proving he pushed Zhao Xiaojun, dismissing his claim of self-defense as Zhao Xiaojun had already ceased fighting.
She highlighted how he gravely injured both siblings and planned to flee. Lin Hao expressed concern for Zhao Xiaolei but quickly shifted blame to Xia Yan, accusing her of seducing Xu Cheng Yi, which he believed triggered Ling Wei's revenge, leading to Zhao Xiaolei's injury and his own predicament. Xia Yan realized Lin Hao's statement implied he was instigated by Ling Wei.
She conveyed that both Zhao Xiaolei and Zhao Xiaojun had decided not to press charges and had even returned the money he gave Zhao Xiaolei, choosing to remember his past kindness or forgive him. Despite their leniency, Xia Yan warned Lin Hao that he would still face legal consequences for his actions. Later, Zhao Xiaolei visited Zhao Xiaojun, who was recovering.
She mentioned Han Shuang's offer to help him secure a job through her powerful mother, but Zhao Xiaojun politely declined. He announced his decision to leave Xinzhou and return to their hometown to manage the family restaurant with their parents, believing a quieter life suited him better. He expressed regret for coming to Xinzhou and for his past self-centeredness, admitting he had often bullied Zhao Xiaolei during their childhood.
Now, he vowed to protect her from anyone who might try to harm her, both outsiders and their parents, moving Zhao Xiaolei to tears at his newfound maturity. Meanwhile, Xu Cheng Yi, anxious about the company's plan to sell the algorithm, worked relentlessly to perfect a new version, hoping to demonstrate its indispensable value and prevent its sale.
During this time, Ma Ke called him, excitedly revealing he had pinpointed the hackers responsible for stealing Han Shuang's video and breaching SG's database. Ma Ke declared his intention to retrieve the video and expose the truth behind SG's data leak. Alarmed, Xu Cheng Yi immediately requested the address and rushed to the location. Ma Ke also sent a heartfelt text message to Han Shuang, conveying his love and his determination to confront the hackers.
Upon arriving at the White Collar Film and Television Apartment, Ma Ke confronted two men, accusing them of being the hackers who ruined his wedding by editing Han Shuang's video. A fight broke out, and a bystander called the police. Xia Yan discovered Xu Cheng Yi's computer screen displaying a "Success" notification for the refined algorithm, but he was gone, so she took his laptop.
Concurrently, Xu Cheng Yi and Han Shuang arrived at the apartment complex to find the police already arresting Ma Ke and the hackers. Ma Ke quickly told Han Shuang that he had found the original video to prove her innocence, driven by his desire to make amends for them ruining his first wedding to her. Han Shuang, frustrated, told him she never cared about the video, but Ma Ke insisted he did.
As Ma Ke was escorted away by the police, he asked Han Shuang to care for his hydrangea. He then informed Xu Cheng Yi that the hackers had confessed to being instigated by a woman who had returned from America. In the office, Amy and Mei Qi engaged in a heated argument about Xue Ning and Xia Yan.
Amy fiercely defended Xia Yan, accusing Xue Ning of betraying the company, framing Xu Cheng Yi, and attempting to sell his seven-year algorithm. Ling Wei, observing the commotion, secretly smirked. After Xue Ning dismissed everyone, she expressed regret that the chairman hadn't heard Amy's accusations, as it might have exposed the "traitor." Xue Ning then confronted Ling Wei, asserting that she had suspected from the beginning that Ling Wei had invited her back to be a scapegoat.
She enumerated the various company crises that had erupted since Ling Wei's return and dismissed Ling Wei's denials, stating that Ling Wei's hidden motives were linked to external shareholders and the acquisition of the algorithm. Ling Wei feigned ignorance and insisted she only returned to save her own bankrupt company. Their heated exchange was interrupted by Yan Changjun, who arrived with irrefutable documents.
He exposed Ling Wei's deception, revealing she was still married in America and that Ankens, the company set to acquire SG's algorithm, was owned by her husband, Anson. Yan Changjun asserted that Ling Wei and Anson had faked their divorce to conceal their company's financial crisis and orchestrate the acquisition of Sadoop's algorithm to salvage their failing business.
Ling Wei attempted to deflect, denying knowledge of Anson's company and her marital status, and challenging Yan Changjun to present his evidence to the chairman. Yan Changjun then revealed the address of the hackers, implicitly linking Ling Wei to their activities. Xu Cheng Yi then burst into the room, announcing the arrest of the two hackers and demanding that the true mastermind surrender.
Xue Ning, feeling that Xu Cheng Yi suspected her, passionately argued that she had been protecting him and the company all along. She presented Yan Changjun's evidence, finally convincing Xu Cheng Yi of Ling Wei's true machinations. Confronted with the truth, Ling Wei continued her denials. Xu Cheng Yi then asked Xue Ning why she hadn't contacted him earlier if she was indeed helping him.
Xue Ning explained that his earlier refusal to forgive her and her own pride prevented her from seeking credit, as she didn't want her efforts to be misconstrued as begging for forgiveness. She admitted to framing Xia Yan in the past but vehemently denied ever framing him, stating she would never do that. She expressed her profound disappointment that even he, after all her years of silent support, would misunderstand her.
Xu Cheng Yi apologized, but Xue Ning, deeply hurt by his doubt and feeling her mission accomplished, declared she had no regrets at SG and left, declining his offer to remain as chief operations manager. Outside, her colleagues, who had overheard the entire conversation, were filled with remorse for their earlier misjudgment of Xue Ning.
