Ma Xiangnan informed Huo Kai that she had taken time off and turned off her phone, ensuring no one could disturb their vacation. Huo Kai asked where they should go, and they embarked on a trip, enjoying various activities like cooking, fishing, and sending a message in a bottle. Upon arriving at a guesthouse, the receptionist offered them a "lovers' room," but Ma Xiangnan requested two separate rooms.
They wished each other good night from their individual rooms, with unspoken affection between them. Meanwhile, Ma Ke called Han Shuang to a meeting, where he revealed he was moving out of their former residence, as there was no point in staying now that she was gone. He offered to transfer ownership of his furniture store to her, claiming he initially bought it just to tease her.
Han Shuang was skeptical, accusing him of trying to bind her to the store and prevent her from dating. She suggested paying him in installments if he wanted to be her creditor. Ma Ke then revealed he had secured a large furniture order through his parents, which would cover the store's debt. Han Shuang expressed suspicion, noting that his parents were in the plastic surgery business, not furniture.
After signing the store transfer contract, Han Shuang discovered that the large order was from Ruicheng, a subsidiary of Mingzhu Group, a company associated with her mother, Han Mingzhu. She realized this was a trap. Han Mingzhu, who deeply resented men who abandoned their wives (like Han Shuang's father), would not forgive Ma Ke for leaving her daughter at the wedding. Han Shuang pointed out a clause in the contract stating the furniture contained "no formaldehyde."
She explained to a bewildered Ma Ke that solid wood naturally contains some formaldehyde, and a "zero formaldehyde" claim was a setup for a lawsuit. Han Mingzhu likely intended to refuse the furniture delivery and demand huge compensation. Horrified, Ma Ke tried to tear up the signed contract, insisting he never intended to cause her trouble and would not abandon her with such a mess.
Han Shuang stopped him, declaring the store was now hers and he couldn't outsmart Han Mingzhu, leading to a heated argument where she called him a "silly fool" and he retorted that he was only to be cheated by her family. In another part of the city, Yan Changjun encountered Ling Wei at a café. He implied her quick hospital discharge meant she had achieved her objectives.
Ling Wei, in turn, subtly questioned if he suspected her of orchestrating the SG stock price fall, which she claimed would not benefit her. She brought up rumors of someone shorting SG shares in America before the data leak, reminding him that while she was in China, her husband was abroad, and questioned if they were divorced. Ling Wei then offered to help Yan Changjun with his company's public listing, suggesting she knew influential people in the U. S.
He politely declined, stating he didn't want "more trouble." Ling Wei tried to sow discord between Yan Changjun and Xu Chengyi, portraying Xu Chengyi as manipulative and unconcerned with their past friendship. She asked whose side he would take if she and Xu Chengyi came into conflict. Yan Changjun responded directly, advising her to return to the U. S. , stating that China was no longer her "arena."
After Yan Changjun departed, Ling Wei immediately called Lin Hao on the phone, instructing him to meet her at a different location. Upon returning home, Lin Hao told Zhao Xiaolei that he had discovered Han Shuang was not involved in their company's recent issues. He apologized for preventing Zhao Xiaolei from seeing her friends and encouraged her to reconcile with them, asking her to apologize to them on his behalf. Zhao Xiaolei was visibly surprised by his change of heart.
Later, Zhao Xiaolei met her brother, Zhao Xiaojun, who informed her he had resigned from Lin Hao's company because Lin Hao no longer trusted him and was being secretive. Zhao Xiaojun expressed his desire to start his own business but refused to go upstairs to avoid an angry confrontation with Lin Hao.
Lin Hao, observing them from above, later told Zhao Xiaolei that he understood Zhao Xiaojun's decision to resign due to lack of business and assured her that he would take Zhao Xiaojun back if his independent venture failed. Lin Hao also mentioned his company was out of danger and, in a good mood, promised to take Zhao Xiaolei on a trip.
Zhao Xiaolei, however, remained suspicious of his sudden success and questioned his methods, prompting Lin Hao to scold her for always assuming the worst of him. Meanwhile, Xia Yan informed Ling Wei about Han Shuang's data leak. Ling Wei subtly fanned the flames of suspicion by questioning why only Han Shuang's "entire" data, not just phone numbers like other users, was stolen.
Ling Wei assured Xia Yan she would follow up, but Xia Yan, growing suspicious, decided to confront Han Shuang. Xia Yan questioned Han Shuang's decision to take over Ma Ke's store, believing it was an act of revenge. Han Shuang vehemently denied this, explaining she would never seek revenge over property or for a divorce she initiated. She felt misunderstood by her friends, especially Xia Yan, who seemed to harbor doubts about her intentions with Xu Chengyi.
Xia Yan admitted that Xu Chengyi had clarified that Han Shuang's earlier flirtatious behavior was merely a "test" of his sincerity towards Xia Yan, but Xia Yan felt Han Shuang should have communicated this directly. Han Shuang then revealed her true reason for testing Xu Chengyi: she heard he crashed his car because of Ling Wei and feared he was using Xia Yan to make Ling Wei jealous.
After her "test," she became convinced of his sincerity towards Xia Yan and refrained from disclosing her actions to avoid making Xia Yan overthink the Ling Wei connection. However, Xia Yan stated she understood Xu Chengyi's silence from that day, but couldn't extend the same understanding to Han Shuang, which further enraged Han Shuang. They argued fiercely, both feeling their friendship was no longer the same, and Han Shuang stormed off.
Later, Ling Wei met with Han Shuang and presented her with a document detailing "SG Confidante Planet: User IP Address Retrieval." It showed that Han Shuang's account had been accessed via a computer, which Han Shuang denied ever doing. Ling Wei pointed out that the IP address associated with the computer login was "Unit 604, Building 6, Ivy Community, Wuhai District," which Han Shuang recognized as Xia Yan's address. Enraged, Han Shuang called Xia Yan, demanding she return home.
While waiting, Han Shuang accessed Xia Yan's computer, managing to log in by guessing "Xu" (Xu Chengyi's surname) as a password. Inside, she found a video of herself with Xu Chengyi, along with an audio recording of Xu Chengyi saying things like, "Helping Xia Yan is real. You tempting me, that's also real. There is no one I can't get." Overwhelmed with fury, Han Shuang smashed the computer, yelling "Xia Yan, go to hell!"
When Xia Yan arrived home, she was shocked by the destruction. Han Shuang, tearfully and angrily, confronted Xia Yan, accusing her of playing the video at her wedding despite Han Shuang having "bared her heart and soul" to her friends. Xia Yan vehemently denied any involvement. Han Shuang then confessed her past sincere feelings for Xu Chengyi but claimed she gave him up once she realized Xia Yan liked him.
She lashed out at Xia Yan, accusing her of always prioritizing her own feelings, just as she had with Lin Hao and Zhao Xiaolei, and making her friends "make way" for her. She asked if she was now "out," like Zhao Xiaolei, and accused Xia Yan of seeing her as "promiscuous," "lacking morals," and a "joke of a bimbo" who would steal her ex-husband's store and best friend's boyfriend.
Xia Yan insisted she didn't mean it that way, but the argument escalated further, with Han Shuang smashing more items and declaring, "Then let none of us be happy!" Later, an employee found Han Shuang on the rooftop, distraught and soaked in the rain. Ma Ke arrived, having been informed of her state. Han Shuang initially told him to leave her alone, but he stayed silently by her side. Eventually, she softened, asking him not to leave and to stay with her for a while, before leaning into his embrace.
