When An Zhique was very young, her mother fell seriously ill and had to take a lot of bitter medicine. Her father, An Hegui, would buy candy for her mother to eat. Her mother often shared the candy with An Zhique. When An Zhique was nine years old, her mother passed away. She would eat lollipops to mask the bitterness of life, gradually forming the habit of eating one lollipop every day. Lin Tuo bought some to share with her.

Lin Tuo arrived at the company early in the morning. Wei Haiyang called a team meeting. It was Lin Tuo's first time participating. Lin Tuo invited him out for dinner to show his gratitude and also called An Zhique to come along, but An Zhique had to cover the shift at the study room. Lin Tuo poured out his troubles to Jiang Chucheng. He had only been at the company for a few days and had been lectured by Wei Haiyang several times.

Jiang Chucheng advised him not to take it to heart, saying that Wei Haiyang was extremely capable in his work and that although the assistants he mentored did not get promoted to designer, they all became great designers after moving to other companies. Lin Tuo worried that he couldn't become a designer and had the idea of changing jobs. "Fourth Uncle" is a nickname for a man who failed the postgraduate entrance exam four times in a row.

His son Beibei is already six years old. Fourth Uncle came to the study room to prepare for his fifth attempt. Lin Tuo carefully took care of An Zhique, bringing her water and giving her medicine. An Zhique's midnight alarm went off. She took out the birthday cake and celebrated Lin Tuo's birthday. The two of them envisioned a beautiful new life together.

The channel partner sent He Xindi a large box of small home appliances for baking, asking her to try selling them. He Xindi wasn't interested, but An Zhique liked baking very much, so He Xindi gave them to her and asked her to arrange a meeting with Jiang Chucheng. Jiang Chucheng readily agreed. He Xindi was very angry because she had asked Jiang Chucheng out many times consecutively and had been rejected.

Lin Tuo went to the finance department to submit an expense report, but he was lectured by the financial manager because the format was incorrect. He had to re-organize it. Lin Tuo returned to the office and was lectured by Wei Haiyang again for missing a meeting. Wei Haiyang told everyone to work overtime tonight and assigned Lin Tuo to archive the design drafts.

Jiang Chucheng came to ask Lin Tuo to go out for dinner, but he had to stay and work overtime, so Jiang Chucheng went to the appointment alone. An Zhique and He Xindi were waiting at the restaurant early. Jiang Chucheng arrived on time. As soon as He Xindi saw him, her eyes lit up, and she tried hard to please him, even singing and dancing. Jiang Chucheng was bewildered by He Xindi.

Lin Tuo couldn't find the compressed file containing the design drafts he needed to archive, so he wanted to ask his colleagues for help, but they were all extremely busy, so Lin Tuo had to give up. Chen Guangpu's home was very far from the company, and there was road construction nearby, which was very inconvenient. Lin Tuo wanted to rent a place and move out.
