Lin Shouzheng learned that Lin Tuo had ALS, he was heartbroken. He tried his best to make time to accompany Lin Tuo, and spared no effort to take care of Lin Tuo. Lin Tuo was very touched. He admitted that he liked medicine and applied to medical school according to Lin Shouzheng's wishes, but because his scores were not high enough, he had to settle for something else.

Lin Shouzheng then told him about the ups and downs of attending medical school back then and reflected on his own lack of presence in the family for many years. Xu Lilian heard what Lin Shouzheng and Lin Tuo said and also regretted neglecting Lin Tuo because of work. She repeatedly apologized to him. Lin Tuo also opened up to his parents.

This long talk throughout the night not only deepened the bond between them but also gave Lin Tuo confidence in fighting the disease. He Xindi came to the coffee shop for work, and met Jiang Chucheng at the door, so she proactively got into Jiang Chucheng's car.

She wanted to take An Zhique to watch the soccer match, seizing the opportunity to reconcile Lin Tuo and An Zhique, only to learn that Lin Tuo's parents were coming to Chongqing, and Lin Tuo had taken a week off from the company. Lin Tuo brought his parents to visit the company and showed them his designs. Xu Lilian bought the dining table and chairs designed by Lin Tuo on the spot.

Lin Tuo accompanied his parents to sightsee around the city. His parents bought corner protectors to eliminate safety hazards at home, and also collected information about ALS. In the blink of an eye, it was the weekend. He Xindi took An Zhique to watch the soccer match, unexpectedly finding Lin Tuo was also there. An Zhique and Lin Tuo were speechless when facing each other, both feeling very awkward.

Xu Lilian and Lin Shouzheng learned about Lin Tuo's examination results from Zhou Fumeng. Lin Tuo's condition had not spread, but the situation was not optimistic. Xu Lilian vented all the grievances and dissatisfaction that had been suppressed in her heart, blaming Lin Shouzheng for not fulfilling his responsibility as a father. Lin Shouzheng also knew he was not competent, but he was helpless regarding Lin Tuo's illness. The couple hid aside and cried heartbrokenly.

After the soccer match ended, An Zhique returned to the coffee shop alone. Jiang Chucheng invited Chen Guangpu and Lin Tuo to dinner. He Xindi got into the car despite Chen Guangpu's objection, wanting to see Lin Tuo's true colors with her own eyes. He Xindi, fueled by alcohol, cursed Lin Tuo, insisting that he was a cheating jerk. Lin Tuo had bitterness in his heart but couldn't express it.

Chen Guangpu couldn't stand it anymore, yelled at He Xindi, and forcefully drove her away. Jiang Chucheng didn't believe Lin Tuo cheated and advised him to reconcile with An Zhique. Lin Tuo didn't want to explain too much, so Chen Guangpu truthfully told Jiang Chucheng about Lin Tuo's illness. Jiang Chucheng was very surprised. He Xindi and Chen Guangpu were sulking and not talking. An Zhique saw it all.

Xu Lilian and Lin Shouzheng discussed retiring early to take care of Lin Tuo. Lin Tuo didn't want to burden them, so they promised to go back to work tomorrow. Chen Guangpu and He Xindi were under the same roof, and they started arguing as soon as they disagreed. He Xindi accused Chen Guangpu of dragging her out in front of Jiang Chucheng, making her lose face.

Chen Guangpu reminded her to give up on Jiang Chucheng as soon as possible; Jiang Chucheng liked An Zhique, not her. He Xindi deliberately put on a nonchalant attitude in front of Jiang Chucheng and kept saying she was going to find a boyfriend. Jiang Chucheng was confused by her actions. After Xu Lilian and Lin Shouzheng returned home, they video-called Lin Tuo every day to keep up with his life and work situation.

Jiang Chucheng came to pick up Lin Tuo for work early in the morning and advised Lin Tuo to tell An Zhique the truth. Lin Tuo didn't want to burden An Zhique, let alone hurt her. Chen Guangpu and Jiang Chucheng took time to take care of Lin Tuo, helping him in life and work. Lin Tuo's leg didn't obey him, and he accidentally fell to the ground. Jiang Chucheng and Chen Guangpu took him to the hospital.

Zhou Fumeng examined Lin Tuo and reminded him not to go out alone to avoid danger. Lin Tuo came to Huatai Coffee Shop and saw An Zhique busy in the shop from a distance, feeling a mix of emotions.
