No Boundary Season 1 Episode 10 Recap
> No Boundary Season 1 Recap
Hong Luan carefully mended Wengu's clothes, which had been torn when he was catching gnats. Wengu told her there was no need for her to do such delicate work. However, Hong Luan expressed her happiness in the task, reflecting on how difficult life in the Ninth Hell had been and how much she cherished her current well-being.
Wengu, contemplating the passage of time, remarked that a thousand years of waiting might not compare to a single moment in the mortal world. Hong Luan gently advised him to appreciate the surroundings, but Wengu declined, acknowledging that both of them were on a "road with no return" yet also a "road with no regrets." Invisible, Duanmu Cui visited the dessert shop Zhan Yan had mentioned.
She noticed a human-shaped doll sitting at Zhan Yan's table and playfully moved it, causing Zhan Yan to realize her presence. He ordered another waxberry punch, jokingly threatening to add vinegar or salt to it, but Duanmu Cui stopped him. Excusing himself to patrol the streets, Zhan Yan covertly left, secretly delighted when he later learned Duanmu Cui had finished the drink. As Duanmu Cui followed him, teasing him, Zhan Yan turned and encountered Li Qiong Xiang.
She presented him with a handkerchief she had personally woven, expressing her gratitude for him saving her life previously. Zhan Yan reluctantly accepted it, assuring her that he would send payment to her textile store. Li Qiong Xiang hinted at their future as a family, but Zhan Yan firmly rebuffed her, stating that they were merely acquaintances and should maintain their distance. Rui'er, Li Qiong Xiang's maid, quickly interjected to defend her lady.
Observing this interaction from her invisible state, Duanmu Cui concluded that Li Qiong Xiang genuinely harbored feelings for Zhan Yan. Duanmu Cui then followed Li Qiong Xiang to the Jinxiu Textile, where she witnessed Li Qiong Xiang's exquisite embroidery skills and observed how highly mortals regarded such well-mannered young women. Inspired by Li Qiong Xiang, Duanmu Cui attempted to adopt the demeanor of a respectable lady, which utterly terrified Xiao Qing Hua, Wengu, Zhang Long, and Zhao Wu.
Wengu, however, reassured her that she was already perfect just as she was. Meanwhile, Hong Luan reported to a Demon Clan elder that she had successfully retrieved a fragment of the Penglai Drawing from Duanmu Cui. The elder clarified that the fragments possessed a unique property: they vibrated when in close proximity to other pieces, enabling them to be located. Using this ability, Hong Luan sensed that the next fragment of the Penglai Drawing was located within the Jinxiu Textile.
The elder then inquired about Wengu, speculating if he was the son of the former Demon King and a mortal woman. Hong Luan denied this, explaining that Wengu had mysteriously vanished during the Battle of Chong City, possibly dying in the conflict. The elder then lamented the potential loss of the "son of the Dragon Clan," who should have been the greatest hope for the Demon Clan, wishing for Wengu's return to lead them to freedom in the mortal world.
Duanmu Cui then detected a distinct demon stench on the handkerchief Zhan Yan had been given by Li Qiong Xiang and had entrusted to Duanmu Cui for safekeeping. She followed Zhan Yan to the Jinxiu Textile, but upon arrival, the scent mysteriously disappeared. Her jealousy flared when she saw clothes Li Qiong Xiang had made for Zhan Yan. In a fit of pique, Duanmu Cui purchased a weaving machine from Jinxiu Textile.
When she attempted to investigate Li Qiong Xiang further, Zhan Yan cautioned her against making accusations without evidence. Misinterpreting his words as siding with his "future wife," Duanmu Cui became angry, and the two parted ways after a heated argument. Still fuming, Duanmu Cui defiantly tried to weave Lingxiao Blue without resorting to magic, accidentally cutting her hand. Wengu, heartbroken, gently applied medicine and lamented her self-inflicted distress.
Later that night, as Li Qiong Xiang was weaving Lingxiao Red at the textile store, a pink mist enveloped her, causing her to lose consciousness. The Jinxiu Textile suddenly caught fire. Zhan Yan, who was on patrol, bravely rescued Li Qiong Xiang, but sadly, her maid, Rui'er, perished in the blaze. Upon hearing of the mysterious fire, Duanmu Cui suspected demon involvement and proceeded to Qifeng Prefecture to investigate. Li Qiong Xiang was grief-stricken over Rui'er's death.
Madam Jiang urged Zhan Yan to comfort Li Qiong Xiang with a gift, but he evaded the suggestion, instead trying to divert the conversation to Madam Jiang's rheumatism and a more fragrant tea. He adamantly declared that he had no romantic feelings for Li Qiong Xiang and would not marry her, insisting that Madam Jiang inform the Li family, otherwise he would do so himself.
Just as Li Qiong Xiang attempted to hug Zhan Yan, Duanmu Cui arrived by earth travel, interrupting the moment. Li Qiong Xiang, now visibly possessed by a demon, tried to hand Zhan Yan a piece of the Lingxiao Red fabric. The moment Duanmu Cui stepped into the textile store, the possessing demon abandoned Li Qiong Xiang's body, causing her to collapse.
Zhan Yan, leaving Duanmu Cui to continue the investigation alone, promptly took Li Qiong Xiang to see a doctor, much to Duanmu Cui's displeasure. Meanwhile, Hong Luan confronted the Silkworm Phantom, demanding the Penglai Drawing fragment. The Silkworm Phantom, whose cocoon "was" the fragment, refused to surrender it until her wish for a destined marriage was fulfilled.
She revealed that she had lent her demon power to the weaver of the Lingxiao Red (Li Qiong Xiang) to help her regain strength for her revenge. The Silkworm Phantom warned Hong Luan not to alert Duanmu Cui, emphasizing that drawing her attention would lead to both their demise. Zhan Yan later informed Duanmu Cui that the coroner's examination of Rui'er's body revealed no smoke in her throat, indicating she had died "before" the fire.
This suggested murder, with the fire being set to destroy evidence. He confessed that he had suspected Li Qiong Xiang when she attempted to take his measurements, sensing a malicious intent, which Duanmu Cui's timely appearance had thwarted. Zhan Yan also revealed that he had visited Jinxiu Textile multiple times since then, but Li Qiong Xiang had consistently avoided him.
He explained that his true intention was to uncover Li Qiong Xiang's secrets, which was why he had requested Duanmu Cui and the Xihualiu Sect's assistance at the upcoming Lingxiao Red exhibition. At the exhibition, Zhan Yan, Duanmu Cui, and Wengu were present as Li Qiong Xiang prepared to unveil the Lingxiao Red wedding dress. However, when the curtain was drawn, it was her father, Mister Li, who was revealed, lifeless and dressed in the very wedding clothes. The scene descended into chaos, and Li Qiong Xiang fainted from the shock.
