Miss Jiang advised her to stay offline to avoid being affected by the numerous trolls, to which Xia Lin agreed, promising to try and remain undisturbed.
Miss Jiang then inquired about her relationship with Ling Yizhou and his plans. Xia Lin expressed her confusion, admitting she had discovered many things she didn't know and just wanted to be alone. Miss Jiang told her to rest and adjust her mental state, offering to handle work-related matters and other issues for her. Meanwhile, Ling Yizhou received a call from Wen Li, who informed him that Mrs. Ling had posted a message on Weibo announcing their breakup.
Ling Yizhou was shocked and saddened, questioning the news and stating his mind was too confused to respond immediately. He instructed Wen Li not to make any public response for now, needing time to calm down. At home, Xia Lin's phone was off. She lay in bed, looking at her phone case with a cartoon couple, lost in memories of their sweet past. Suddenly, Fei Fei burst in, asking why Xia Lin hadn't answered her calls.
Xia Lin explained she had turned off her phone to be alone. Fei Fei then asked if her breakup with Boss Ling was serious. Xia Lin clarified that they hadn't actually discussed breaking up; she just needed some time to calm down. Fei Fei then asked if her Weibo post was meant to convey that message.
Upon hearing this, Xia Lin immediately checked her Weibo and saw the post stating, "We couldn't company each other for work reasons, so we have broken up." Xia Lin insisted she hadn't posted it. Fei Fei wondered if her account had been hacked. Xia Lin then realized another possibility and called Miss Jiang, asking if she was responsible for the post. Miss Jiang confirmed she had posted it, stating it was a team decision.
Xia Lin was furious, accusing Miss Jiang of making such a crucial decision without her consent, emphasizing it was a private matter between her and Ling Yizhou and that they shouldn't interfere with her private life without limits. Miss Jiang apologized, explaining her actions were for Xia Lin's future development. Xia Lin demanded to know how Miss Jiang planned to rectify the situation.
Miss Jiang stated she would immediately delete the Weibo and then claim the Weibo account had been hacked and that Xia Lin had been resting, unaware of the post. Xia Lin agreed but warned her not to do anything like that again. Xia Lin expressed disbelief at waking up to find herself "broken up." Simultaneously, news spread online that Lingshi Group had found evidence proving Ling Yizhou's innocence in Yao Liang's car accident, laying the blame on Director Jin. Despite this exoneration, Xia Lin's heart was heavy with lingering doubts about Ling Yizhou's past actions. She tried calling Ling Yizhou, but his phone was off. Determined to confront him, she and Fei Fei headed to Lingshi Group.
At the reception, they were told Ling Yizhou was not there. Just as Xia Lin was about to call Wen Li, he rushed past, surprised to see them. Fei Fei playfully approached him, stating she had something to ask and telling him not to be scared. Having learned Ling Yizhou's whereabouts from Wen Li, Xia Lin immediately went to find him.
She earnestly explained that she had not posted the breakup message on Weibo and had no intention of breaking up. Ling Yizhou, however, replied that whether she posted it or not was irrelevant; since she desired calmness, they should give each other space. Xia Lin tearfully explained that she had been overwhelmed by too many sudden revelations, especially learning they had met long ago and feeling he had concealed many things from her.
She apologized for doubting his character, but Ling Yizhou simply acknowledged her words and walked away. Waiting in the lobby, Fei Fei observed the exchange and muttered to herself, "Stupid. An idiot." Xiaoyou, sitting nearby, looked up. Fei Fei quickly clarified that she wasn't speaking to Xiaoyou. Xiaoyou smiled, then handed her phone to Fei Fei, asking for a photo. Fei Fei agreed and told her to turn around for the shot.
As Xiaoyou turned, she came face-to-face with Chu Yan, who looked surprised to see her there. Xiaoyou explained her sister was taking a picture. Fei Fei waved her phone as a greeting. Xiaoyou asked Chu Yan if he was there for business and suggested they share a meal after his meeting. Wen Li obliged, and Xia Lin spontaneously leaned in for a selfie with him, startling him. Wen Li admitted that his boss was deeply hurt but concealed it, often appearing absent-minded during meetings. Fei Fei saw this as a positive sign, indicating Ling Yizhou still cared for Xia Lin, making reconciliation highly possible. Fei Fei then outlined the second step of their strategy: creating accidental encounters, which she admitted sounded cliché but was effective as everyone believed in fate, adding that physical contact was a bonus. Xiaoyou excitedly declared she was an expert at this, explaining her proactive approach to "accidentally" running into Chu Yan. This strategy soon bore fruit when Chu Yan was working on an outdoor wedding photoshoot for Bojue Photography, his company. The bride was dissatisfied with the provided dresses.
Xiaoyou, seeing an opportunity, hurried over and, introducing herself as a company stylist, offered to re-match the bride's attire. The bride was very pleased, and Chu Yan's heart was subtly moved by Xiaoyou's adorable and focused demeanor.
Chu Yan expressed his gratitude to Xiaoyou, admitting he hadn't known how to handle the demanding client, to which Xiaoyou replied that women simply understood other women better. She also suggested Chu Yan consider hiring more female stylists to diversify perspectives. Encouraged by Xiaoyou's success, Xia Lin decided to try her own "accidental encounter." Learning Ling Yizhou was swimming, she changed into a swimsuit and quietly approached the pool. She submerged her head, pretending to drown.
Ling Yizhou quickly swam over and pulled her to the pool edge. Xia Lin, sensing no further movement, secretly opened her eyes and found Ling Yizhou looking at her. Later, Xiaoyou gleefully reported her success to Xia Lin and Fei Fei, giggling about Chu Yan's concern for her sprained ankle, his repeated inquiries about her injury, and his offer to bring her supper. She wondered aloud if she should change her clothes for his visit. Xia Lin, however, lamented the stark contrast in results, calling Fei Fei an "inept adviser."
She pointed out that while Chu Yan was incredibly gentle with Xiaoyou, Ling Yizhou remained cold and sarcastic towards her. Xia Lin concluded she now understood the old saying: "Teachers can only enlighten students; how to do depends on the students." Fei Fei praised Xiaoyou as a "self-taught master." Fei Fei then presented the third step of their plan: making the man feel responsible for them, like the rose capturing the heart of the Little Prince.
The best way to do this, she explained, was to be hurt and in need of his care. Armed with this new strategy, Xia Lin resolved, "Ling Yizhou, it's my turn to chase you."
