Lu Jia returned home to find her father, Lu Hongwei, absent. She called him, learning he was having dinner with Jiang Wenting at school. Not wanting to disturb him, Lu Jia left. Meanwhile, Ye Angyang confided in Janice, speaking ill of Xu Jiaxiu. Just then, debt collectors arrived, demanding money from Zhou Yunbo.
Ye Angyang insisted this was Xu Jiaxiu's company and directed them upstairs to find Zhou Yunbo, but the men were unrelenting and stormed into the office, smashing and throwing things. Ouyang Xuan, who was downstairs delivering coffee to Janice, quickly intervened, falsely claiming Zhou Yunbo had just fled. The debt collectors immediately gave chase. After Ouyang Xuan delivered the coffee, Ye Angyang followed him to the restroom.
He noticed the gauze on Ouyang Xuan’s arm had been removed, and there were no bite marks underneath. Ye Angyang then reported this to Janice, who remained unconvinced. Soon after, Zhou Yunbo returned to explain the situation. He had invested all his money in a finance application with a partner, who then absconded with the funds, leaving Zhou Yunbo to face angry investors. Ye Angyang recognized it as an illegal fund-raising scam.
Penniless, Zhou Yunbo had to terminate the office lease, urging them to move out quickly. Ye Angyang immediately tried to call Xu Jiaxiu. Lu Jia eventually found Xu Jiaxiu at the swimming pool. Her pleas were useless, so she jumped into the pool to stop him, challenging him to a swimming race. She proposed that if he lost, he would have to come home with her. Xu Jiaxiu agreed and later provided her with clean clothes.
Xu Jiaxiu brought Lu Jia home. Lu Jia repeatedly tried to explain that the old love letter was a misunderstanding. Xu Jiaxiu, not wanting to hear her lengthy explanations, told her to shower first. While she showered, Xu Jiaxiu closed the curtains and straightened the bedsheets, imagining a romantic night with Lu Jia, his heart filled with excitement. He drank water to calm himself.
When Lu Jia emerged from the shower, Xu Jiaxiu was captivated by her beauty and offered to blow-dry her hair. Lu Jia earnestly tried to appease Xu Jiaxiu, emphasizing that she had no relationship with Ye Angyang. Xu Jiaxiu brought up the love letter, which still infuriated Lu Jia. She recounted how she had poured all her writing talent into a love letter for Xu Jiaxiu, only for it to go unanswered.
Shortly after, Xu Jiaxiu was seen with Yang Shanni in the woods, which deeply angered and embarrassed Lu Jia. In a fit of pique, she hastily modified the letter and gave it to Ye Angyang, placing all the blame on Xu Jiaxiu. Xu Jiaxiu admitted he had intended to reply, but upon seeing the same letter given to Ye Angyang, he felt annoyed and assumed she was making fun of him, so he deliberately didn't reply.
With the misunderstanding finally cleared, they shared a heartfelt embrace. Meanwhile, Ye Angyang and Janice searched everywhere for Xu Jiaxiu, but to no avail. Xu Jiaxiu went downstairs to a convenience store to buy condoms, but the female clerk, a loyal fan of his, refused to sell them to him. He had to go to another store. Upon returning home, Xu Jiaxiu found Lu Jia had set out red wine and lit candles.
As they clinked glasses, Xu Jiaxiu excused himself to change into his pajamas and put on a generous amount of cologne. Lu Jia waited for a long time, but when he didn't emerge, she drank the entire bottle of wine by herself. When Xu Jiaxiu finally came out, he found Lu Jia completely drunk and unconscious. His carefully planned romantic evening was ruined. Later, Ye Angyang walked Janice home and, needing to use the restroom, stopped by Xu Jiaxiu's place.
Suddenly, he heard Lu Jia’s voice inside. Janice called Xu Jiaxiu, but he hung up and turned off his phone. She then called Lu Jia, but Xu Jiaxiu turned off Lu Jia’s phone as well. Believing Lu Jia was held hostage, Ye Angyang and Janice frantically banged on the door. When there was no response, Janice retrieved an axe to break down the door. Just then, Xu Jiaxiu opened it.
They rushed in to find Lu Jia fast asleep, and, relieved, they left. Before going, Ye Angyang mentioned Zhou Yunbo’s plight to Xu Jiaxiu. The next morning, Xu Jiaxiu and Lu Jia went to work together. Lu Jia repeatedly apologized for getting drunk and promised to make it up to him. Downstairs, Zhou Yunbo earnestly pleaded with Xu Jiaxiu for help. As Xu Jiaxiu spotted employees from Sixinte Group arriving, he quickly led Lu Jia to meet CEO Song Junxi.
Song Junxi praised Xu Jiaxiu’s "Intimate Tree" project and offered constructive feedback. He glanced at Lu Jia before departing. Xu Jiaxiu then presented Ye Angyang with eight boxes of children's milk to repay him for the milk Lu Jia had consumed years ago. Ye Angyang, offended by the "children's milk" and the implicit insult, declared his intention to withdraw his shares from the company.
Xu Jiaxiu immediately instructed Janice to clear out Ye Angyang's office for Zhou Yunbo, who had just joined Voya. Enraged, Ye Angyang went to pack his belongings. Lu Jia tried to calm him, but he refused to listen, stating it was a matter between him and Xu Jiaxiu, and left.
