Qin Yiyue's parents unexpectedly arrived at her apartment. Qin Yiyue initially offered her parents her bedroom while she slept on the couch, but her mother, Luo Mingmei, noticed a storage room and asked Qin Yiyue to clean it up so she and Qin Qiuyang, Qin Yiyue's father, could stay there for a longer visit. Qin Yiyue's father agreed, wanting to spend more time with their daughter, to Qin Yiyue's surprise and slight dismay.
He Qiaoyan experienced arrhythmia and shortness of breath when he saw Ning Fang sending Qin Yiyue home. He later called Wen Gu, describing the situation and asking for an interpretation. Wen Gu immediately identified Ning Fang as a potential love rival and an obstacle to He Qiaoyan and Qin Yiyue's eventual marriage, advising He Qiaoyan to be on high alert.
He Qiaoyan went to Ning Fang's studio under the pretense of checking on the cat, but his real intention was to gather information on his love rival. There, he encountered Qin Yiyue, who was already present. Ning Fang asked if He Qiaoyan was there for Yiyue's cat, to which He Qiaoyan referred to Qin Yiyue as his "fiancee."

To satisfy her parents' demand to meet He Qiaoyan without actually introducing them to the real one, they devised a plan for their friend Ruowei to impersonate He Qiaoyan via text message. Qin Yiyue, unaware that it was the real He Qiaoyan who replied, mistakenly believed Ruowei had successfully impersonated him and convinced her parents to go home. However, her plan backfired spectacularly when Ruowei called, revealing her phone had just been repaired and she had not sent any messages. Qin Yiyue realized her parents had inadvertently contacted the real He Qiaoyan.
Adding to the chaos, Wen Gu had also advised He Qiaoyan that "visiting parents is a crucial step in marriage" and that winning them over was key. Before Qin Yiyue could process the disaster, He Qiaoyan arrived at her parents' hometown house in a luxurious car, ready for the "meeting." He Qiaoyan, upon his grand arrival, immediately addressed Qin Yiyue's parents as "Mom and Dad" and presented them with a carload of gifts.
Her father, Qin Qiuyang, while impressed, suggested it was "a bit premature," but He Qiaoyan smoothly continued calling him "Dad." He then tried to compliment Luo Mingmei, saying she looked very young, but awkwardly specified she looked "49" despite being "50," causing a slight pause. During the meal, He Qiaoyan presented a highly detailed "marriage plan," covering everything from engagement to post-wedding matters, demonstrating his serious commitment. He Qiaoyan clarified that Poppet's mother was a "close family member" and his "sister-in-law," revealing that Poppet was his elder brother's child. This revelation shocked both Qin Yiyue and her parents, who immediately expressed sympathy for He Qiaoyan's difficult situation. Qin Yiyue's parents warmly hosted He Qiaoyan for dinner, serving a large table of dishes. He drank heartily with Qin Qiuyang and accidentally burned himself with a hot dish. As dinner concluded, He Qiaoyan, now slightly intoxicated, announced he had sent his driver home to care for Poppet and inquired if he could stay the night. He Qiaoyan then audaciously suggested he "can share a room with Yiyue." Horrified, Qin Yiyue protested as he drunkenly clarified he wanted to stay because he loved Luo Mingmei's cooking and wished to have breakfast there. A comical argument ensued between Qin Yiyue and He Qiaoyan over who would sleep on the sofa, resulting in both of them accidentally falling onto the bed.
