The popularity of winter sports has made the girl who loves short-track speed skating, Shen Zhengyi, find a goal to strive for.
She secretly participated in the newcomer selection of Zhufeng Club while keeping her mother’s back, which was her last chance to become a professional.
She had never received professional training before, and she experienced the harshness of the devil coach Zhuang Yue.
After a series of twists and turns, she entered the club as she wishes.
However, new challenges came one after another, and Zhengyi struggled to overcome technical difficulties and learned to cooperate with her teammates.

Episode 1 Recap
The 1996 Asian Cup Women's 1500-meter Short Track Speed Skating finals saw two Chinese skaters, number 255 and number 258, take an early lead. The competition was fierce as they maintained their positions, with number 255 pushing the pace to prevent any overtaking. However, a shocking accident occurred on the very last curve as the two Chinese athletes made a mistake in their cooperation and collided, with number 258 sustaining a serious injury, causing them to lose the gold medal.
More than two decades later, the 9th College Figure Skating Invitational Tournament concluded with a dazzling encore performance by Lingbei University's Wind Chasing Team pair skating champions, Shao Beisheng and Liu Fei. The Wind Chasing Team is a renowned institution at Lingbei University, celebrated for nurturing top athletes in both figure skating and short track speed skating, and having secured numerous championships.
Shao Beisheng, a rising star and the team's ace in pair skating, captivated the audience with his partner Liu Fei, with whom he had won the past three consecutive pair skating championships. After their performance, a throng of eager reporters approached, but Shao Beisheng's coach quickly intervened, claiming Beisheng had a hoarse voice and redirecting the media to allow the pair to retreat.
Shortly after, Shao Beisheng received a call from a junior speed skater named Tong, who reported that their training space had been taken over. Shao Beisheng promptly went to support his junior team, who were in a standoff with a group of amateur skaters. As Shao Beisheng confronted them, Shen Zhengyi, known as the "Wild Skating Princess" and the captain of the opposing group, arrived and scolded him for bullying children. Shao Beisheng arrogantly dismissed her group as amateurs.
The argument quickly escalated into a challenge: a race to collect cups on the ice. Despite his overconfidence, Shen Zhengyi noticed Shao Beisheng was wearing his figure skating skates, and she decisively won the race with her superior speed, forcing him to lead his junior team to another rink. Shen Zhengyi has harbored a deep passion for short track speed skating since childhood, despite her mother's staunch opposition.
On her eighteenth birthday, she expressed her wish to join a professional team, only to be met with a firm rejection from her mother. Driven by her dream, Shen Zhengyi secretly filled out an application for the Lingbei University Wind Chasing Team, seeing it as her final opportunity. Her roommate, Zhu Lele, who had already been specially recruited into the short track speed skating team, expressed confidence in Shen Zhengyi's chances.
Later, Shao Beisheng admired his newly acquired "Black Legend" shoes. At the recruitment desk, where he was assisting with applications, Shen Zhengyi arrived just moments after the 11:30 AM deadline. Shao Beisheng, recognizing her from their earlier encounter, mockingly told her the team was hiring cleaners. Shen Zhengyi retorted by calling him a "flower vase" and a "defeated foe," recalling his loss to her.
Shao Beisheng dismissed the race, arguing it was unfair to compare a figure skater's speed to a short track skater's. He then deliberately pointed out that she was a minute late, rejecting her application. Shao Beisheng accepted, confident she would fail. The next day, Shen Zhengyi arrived for the tryouts. Xiao Han, the Wind Chasing Team's acting head coach, noticed Shen Zhengyi's shoelaces were loose and knelt to tie them for her. However, the Director firmly stated that the Wind Chasing Team was not a training ground and needed mature athletes who could deliver immediate results. In a fit of anger, Shen Zhengyi stomped on his new shoes and rushed off, inadvertently leaving her phone behind. Realizing her phone was missing, Shen Zhengyi used Zhu Lele's phone to call it. Shao Beisheng answered, disguising his voice as an older man and misleading them to the school's botanical garden, instructing them to search for the phone on a fertilizer shelf.
After futilely searching, Shen Zhengyi realized she'd been tricked, called her phone again, and heard it ring in Shao Beisheng's pocket. He then told her to meet him at the library, where he playfully admonished her before returning the phone. Shortly after, Shen Zhengyi received a surprising call from Xiao Han, who had tracked down her application and offered her a chance to train with the Wind Chasing Team starting the next day.
Overjoyed, she and Zhu Lele arrived early at the training room. As Xiao Han introduced the new members, the Director arrived with Zhuang Yue, a renowned gold-medalist coach, announcing her as the new head coach. Zhuang Yue immediately asserted her authority, stating her sole purpose was to improve the team's scores and announcing a rigorous new training plan. Zhuang Yue then called Shen Zhengyi aside, directly confronting her about her deficient cornering skills.
Despite Shen Zhengyi's earnest promise to improve, Zhuang Yue dismissed her, explaining that the team was not a training school and that admitting someone with such a fundamental weakness would be like putting a "time bomb on the ice." The Director later reaffirmed Zhuang Yue's authority to Xiao Han and instructed him to remove Shen Zhengyi from the team. A dejected Shen Zhengyi encountered Xiao Han on her way out.
He apologized and, acknowledging her talent, urged her not to give up. Shen Zhengyi then asked if she could still join the team if she mastered her cornering technique, to which Xiao Han promised he would do his utmost to help her secure a spot.
Episode 2 Recap
Liu Fei, Shao Beisheng's partner, harbors deep affection for him, but he insists on keeping their connection a pure friendship, not romance. When Liu Fei confronts him, Shao Beisheng lies about having a girlfriend to deter her. He later confides in his friend Qu Zhi, wishing for a partner with whom romance would be completely out of the question. Meanwhile, Shen Zhengyi trains tirelessly to improve her curve technique.
Her friend Zhu Lele, concerned about her intensity, pulls her away to eat at the popular spareribs stall in the canteen. While Zhu Lele queues up, she leaves her bag with Shen Zhengyi, who then accidentally collides with a rushing Shao Beisheng. Items spill from the bag, including a "Lingbei New Style Page" detailing Shao Beisheng's profile and preferences.
Mistaking Shen Zhengyi for an obsessed fan who created the page, Shao Beisheng accuses her of having ulterior motives and warns her to stay away. Determined to master her technique by observing professionals, Shen Zhengyi decides to apply for a cleaning job at the Wind Chasing Team’s club. Shao Beisheng spots her there and, convinced she is still trying to get close to him, secretly calls Qu Zhi to apply for the same position.
Despite Shen Zhengyi’s plea for Qu Zhi to withdraw, explaining how crucial the job is for her, the recruiter ultimately selects the stronger Qu Zhi for the physically demanding role. Qu Zhi promptly reports his success to Shao Beisheng. Overhearing them, Shen Zhengyi realizes Shao Beisheng sabotaged her and angrily confronts him. He scoffs, referencing the "Lingbei New Style Page" as proof of her scheme.
At that moment, Zhu Lele interjects, proudly revealing that she designed the forum page and is the head of Shao Beisheng’s fan club. Realizing his mistake, Shao Beisheng advises Shen Zhengyi to stop using indirect methods and speak directly with the new head coach, Zhuang Yue, who dislikes opportunistic behavior. At the club, Zhuang Yue questions Coach Xiao for providing Luo Xiaoyi with extensive individual training.
Coach Xiao defends his decision, asserting Luo Xiaoyi is the team's only hope for winning gold medals. Zhuang Yue argues that she was hired to improve the entire team, not just one athlete, but Coach Xiao remains steadfast, insisting that securing gold is the priority for the school and Director Zhang. Zhuang Yue then implements rigorous, tailored training for the female team members.
She increases Zhou Luhan's endurance workout, has Wang Fang focus on her strength in short-distance events, and advises Liu Sisi to reduce her overthinking during starts. She also sternly reprimands Zhu Lele for a lack of focus and punishes the entire team with extra laps for slow assembly. Later, Zhuang Yue reports to Director Zhang, highlighting her concerns about Coach Xiao's singular focus on Luo Xiaoyi.
Director Zhang reveals the high stakes: the Wind Chasing Team has one year to win three medals in A-level competitions or it will be disbanded. He urges Zhuang Yue and Coach Xiao to cooperate and also advises her to mend her estranged relationship with her son, Shao Beisheng.
Back at the rink, Old Ma presents Shao Beisheng with several potential pair skating partners, but he is unimpressed, declaring he will only accept a partner who can perform a "Double Axel"—a near-impossible requirement. Meanwhile, Shen Zhengyi takes Shao Beisheng's advice and approaches Zhuang Yue directly. She passionately assures the coach she can master her curve technique if given a chance.
Impressed by her perseverance after learning she has been self-taught for over ten years, Zhuang Yue grants her one week to demonstrate significant improvement. Shao Beisheng, seeing the exchange from a distance, pointedly ignores his mother when she calls out to him. Shen Zhengyi enthusiastically tells Coach Xiao about Zhuang Yue's offer and asks for his guidance. As they walk by a pond, they hear a child, Xiao Bao, crying for help after falling in.
Despite being a weak swimmer, Shen Zhengyi jumps in. Coach Xiao freezes, paralyzed by a traumatic flashback of his younger brother, Xiao Feng. Shen Zhengyi pushes Xiao Bao to safety but then struggles and begins to sink. Shao Beisheng, passing by, dives in to rescue the unconscious Shen Zhengyi, performing CPR to revive her. Later at the infirmary, Shao Beisheng, now sick from the cold water, encounters Shen Zhengyi, expecting gratitude. Instead, completely unaware of his role, she gushes to him about how Coach Xiao rescued her, dreamily recalling his "gentle, handsome face" as the first thing she saw. Shao Beisheng is left dumbfounded, his heroic act completely misattributed.
Episode 3 Recap
Shao Beisheng considered telling Shen Zhengyi that he, not Xiao Han, was her true rescuer, but stopped short, remembering that he had performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her. Coach Ma had selected several excellent figure skaters for Shao Beisheng to assess. Dissatisfied with the candidates, he was about to leave when Coach Ma introduced Xiao Qing, who had just returned from Korea.
A former national youth champion in pair skating, Xiao Qing demonstrated a flawless Triple Toe Loop and a beautiful Biellmann spin on the ice. Shao Beisheng was stunned and spontaneously applauded, both he and Coach Ma immensely impressed by her performance. Immediately after, Shao Beisheng encountered Liu Fei, who was still persistently pursuing him.
She had brought him ginger soup, expressing concern for his recent cold, but Shao Beisheng politely declined, claiming he was better and the soup was too nourishing. He then asserted that he had a very petty girlfriend who would be furious if she found out. Liu Fei called his bluff, reminding him that after two years of training together, she knew he was lying. Furious, Shen Zhengyi struggled to break free and demanded he never appear in her sight again, calling him irritating. Unbeknownst to her brother, Xiao Han, Xiao Qing had joined the Wind Chasing Team. She prepared a lavish meal to welcome him home, but Xiao Han was far from pleased.

Xiao Qing explained that she admired Shao Beisheng as the most suitable partner in China and believed they would have great chemistry. Despite Xiao Han’s objections, Xiao Qing revealed she had already processed her transfer and secured a dormitory, making her decision irreversible. During their first joint training, Xiao Qing and Shao Beisheng demonstrated remarkable synergy, flawlessly executing a Double Throw Jump, a Twist, a Death Spiral, and a Combination Spin. At a local ice rink, Xiao Han observed Shen Zhengyi practicing her curves. He noted her instability at high speeds and offered detailed guidance, explaining that proper bend control relies on a combination of speed, technique, strength, and core balance.
He recorded her skating to point out flaws, such as her upper body tilting too soon and incorrect blade angles, advising that she needed to train in a professional facility. Zhuang Yue witnessed his intense focus on Shen Zhengyi and questioned his judgment, viewing Shen Zhengyi's aggressive, reckless approach as a "ticking time bomb" that could endanger others. Xiao Han vehemently defended her, highlighting her natural talent and immense solo effort.
He argued the team needed her fighting spirit and pledged to take full responsibility for any risks. Persuaded, Zhuang Yue reluctantly agreed to let Shen Zhengyi join the team, but with a specific condition. Overjoyed by the long-awaited notification, Shen Zhengyi’s father expressed concern about her physical endurance, but she, passionate about skating, assured him she was prepared for the hard work ahead.
The next morning, Shen Zhengyi, dressed in her Wind Chasing Team uniform, arrived at the training room. Veteran teammates, led by Liu Sisi, mocked her for her unrefined technique. Zhu Lele, however, immediately stepped up to defend Shen Zhengyi. Soon after, Zhuang Yue and Xiao Han entered the room. Zhuang Yue informed Shen Zhengyi that as a probationary member, she needed to rank in the top three in the upcoming Inter-college competition to secure her place on the team.
Zhuang Yue then announced that she would be overseeing the training of the veteran members, assigning Xiao Han to train the new recruits. Luo Xiaoyi strongly objected, insisting that Xiao Han continue her special training. Luo Xiaoyi, observing this, was visibly displeased, believing Shen Zhengyi was intentionally trying to get close to Xiao Han.
Meanwhile, Shao Beisheng and Xiao Qing began their official training. Their synchronized performance earned them praise from Coach Ma. Aiming for a standout performance, they both requested an extra hour of daily training, which Coach Ma allowed. Later, Xiao Qing asked Shao Beisheng if his former partner, Liu Fei, liked him.

He presented a contract stipulating that she must not develop romantic feelings for him and must not disclose their arrangement. When she noted it didn't mention helping her, he promised to add the clause. Meanwhile, Zhu Lele confronted Shen Zhengyi about the relationship. Shen Zhengyi hesitantly confirmed it, much to Zhu Lele's delight, as she no longer had to do chores for Qu Zhi to get information about Shao Beisheng for her fan page.
Elsewhere, Xiao Han warned Luo Xiaoyi to stop targeting Shen Zhengyi. Luo Xiaoyi defended her actions, citing her dislike for Shen Zhengyi and the disruption to her special training. The following morning, Shao Beisheng began enforcing the "relationship," commanding Shen Zhengyi to bring him breakfast. In the cafeteria, he loudly announced that his "girlfriend" had brought him food, catching the attention of other students, including a curious Xiao Qing.
Later, Xiao Qing questioned Shen Zhengyi about the relationship, receiving awkward answers. Shao Beisheng joined them, reinforcing the facade. He then imposed a strict schedule on Shen Zhengyi, demanding she bring him breakfast daily. Later, Qu Zhi and Shao Beisheng appeared to be executing a secret plan involving the ice rink key and Coach Ma's office. Liu Sisi, however, spotted Qu Zhi acting suspiciously and confronted him.
Episode 5 Recap
Following Shen Zhengyi's suspension from on-ice training, Zhu Lele found Qu Zhi acting suspiciously and confronted him. He admitted that Shao Beisheng had tasked him with monitoring Coach Zhuang, enabling Shao Beisheng to steal the ice rink keys to help Shen Zhengyi train. Shao Beisheng successfully found the keys in Coach Ma's office, but was discovered by Xiao Qing as he was leaving. He pleaded with her to keep his secret.
However, Coach Zhuang noticed Qu Zhi and Zhu Lele's secretive behavior and questioned them. After they confessed, she gathered everyone involved—Shao Beisheng, Shen Zhengyi, Xiao Qing, Qu Zhi, and Zhu Lele—and reprimanded them for their lack of discipline, assigning each a 6,000-word self-criticism essay. Shen Zhengyi apologized for getting everyone in trouble, but Xiao Qing was unbothered, remarking that she found the new experience of writing such an essay interesting.
Later, Coach Zhuang privately confronted her son, Shao Beisheng, about the incident. He retorted sharply, questioning her suitability as a mother and accusing her of being absent when he needed her most.
