Ms. Fang, observing An Yu and Shao Moli being affectionate in the elevator, called An Yu into her office. She reminded An Yu that her father once worked at Hongxing Telecom, making her the ideal person to investigate its detailed ownership structure and the shareholding ratio of its employees. Ms. Fang demanded the report be submitted by the end of the workday, despite the immense workload this implied.

Shortly after, Ms. Fang received a distressing phone call from Fangfang's caretaker, Sun, who announced she was returning to her hometown indefinitely and might not come back, leaving Ms. Fang worried about finding a replacement. An Yu visited Hongxing Telecom, but learned that Mr. Qian, the deputy factory director who was responsible for the shares, was on a business trip.

She decided to retrieve the records from the Administration for Industry and Commerce first and secured the factory's official seal for this purpose. By the end of the day, An Yu submitted her shareholding explanation for Hongxing Telecom to Ms. Fang. However, Ms. Fang immediately shredded the report, asserting that it was useless to her as she had requested a detailed ownership structure, not a general summary.

An Yu attempted to explain that Hongxing Telecom's shares were too scattered to complete such a complex task in a single day. Shao Moli, who overheard the exchange, intervened, pointing out that Ms. Fang must have known the task was impossible given the complexity of Hongxing Telecom’s ownership when she assigned it. Ms. Fang, however, asserted her authority as project manager, rejecting Shao Moli's interference and accusing him of letting personal feelings affect his work.

To de-escalate the tension, An Yu quickly apologized to Ms. Fang, promising to redo the report, and then led Shao Moli out. An Yu told Shao Moli to stop meddling in her affairs, insisting she could handle the situation and that appeasing Ms. Fang was her duty, and that she must solve this herself. She then left for the day, while Shao Moli had a meeting to attend.

Meanwhile, Zhou Yuan tried to wake Yiyi for piano lessons, only to discover the child had a high fever. Yiyi cried for his mother, refusing to go to the hospital. Zhou Yuan called Mi Lu, but she quickly hung up, citing an important meeting. With Yiyi still distraught, Zhou Yuan called An Yu. An Yu rushed to the hospital to care for Yiyi, attentively wiping his sweat.

Zhou Yuan, having fallen asleep, awoke and confessed to An Yu that he had been suffering from insomnia for a long time and only felt truly secure and relaxed when he was with her. He deliberately ignored an incoming phone call from Mi Lu. A nurse then mistakenly referred to An Yu and Zhou Yuan as Yiyi’s parents. When An Yu returned home, Shao Moli was waiting for her downstairs.

Their conversation was cut short when Lailai came down to take out the trash and then walked upstairs with An Yu. An Yu confided in Lailai about going to see Yiyi because Mi Lu was away on a business trip and Zhou Yuan needed help with Yiyi's fever. Lailai warned An Yu to be careful, suspecting Zhou Yuan was intentionally creating opportunities for them to meet again, and advised her not to tell Shao Moli about it.

In a separate meeting, Shao Moli presented his reform plan for Hongxing Telecom to Lin Zhanhong. He proposed to re-operate the company for profit rather than simply liquidating its assets, believing this would be more challenging and yield greater returns. Lin Zhanhong expressed concerns about the risks, including the possibility of Hongxing Telecom not restarting, longer capital recovery cycles, and increased difficulty and risk. Shao Moli reassured him, revealing his intention to become a shareholder.

He explained that he had contacted several past investors, and with his own money, the deal would be a guaranteed profit for Lin Zhanhong and Zhuoyue. He also emphasized that in their line of business, it’s not about whether it’s worth it, but about daring to take the gamble. Mi Lu met with Hongxing Telecom's factory manager, presenting her acquisition proposal. The manager stated that he needed to consider the vital interests of the factory's employees.

Upon leaving, she saw Xu Jingya enter the manager's office and greet him as "Uncle," making Mi Lu realize the manager had a familial connection with her rival, Xu Jingya, who blamed Mi Lu for her job loss. Later, Mi Lu received a phone call from the factory manager, who stated he needed more time to reconsider her offer, citing concerns that her acquisition plan had not addressed the welfare and placement of the factory's employees, who might face unemployment.

Back home, Mi Lu was greeted by Yiyi, who showed her a drawing. When Mi Lu asked if it was of him and her, Yiyi proudly clarified it was of him and the "pretty lady" (An Yu), who had cared for him while he was sick and Mi Lu was away on her business trip. Mi Lu's expression darkened, and she sent Yiyi upstairs to play.

She confronted Zhou Yuan about Yiyi’s illness and why he involved An Yu without telling her. Zhou Yuan defended himself, explaining that Yiyi was inconsolable and refusing to go to the hospital, and Mi Lu had been unreachable on the phone, hanging up on him due to a meeting. Zhou Yuan admitted he should have told her afterwards and apologized, claiming he hadn't thought much of it at the time.

Mi Lu then directly asked Zhou Yuan again if he still harbored feelings for An Yu, which he denied. During a group meeting, An Yu presented the results of her questionnaire regarding Hongxing Telecom, highlighting employee concerns about acquisition price and post-acquisition personnel changes. Ms. Fang once again criticized her report through her disapproving demeanor. Meanwhile, Su Dayong was caught engrossed in the "Soul App" on his phone during the meeting.

Ms. Fang called him into her office, where he accidentally spilled water on her son's cherished book, further enraging her and leading her to dismiss him from her office. Separately, Kai vehemently disagreed with Shao Moli's plan to invest all his assets in acquiring and reforming Hongxing Telecom, calling him "crazy" and suggesting he had lost his judgment since meeting An Yu. Shao Moli countered that meeting An Yu had made him more clear-headed and certain of his aspirations.

He also voiced his suspicion about Yimi Capital's unusual silence, believing they were likely to interfere with the Hongxing Telecom acquisition. At that moment, Mi Lu called Shao Moli, requesting a meeting. When they met at Zhuoyue, Mi Lu proposed a deal: she would assist him in acquiring Hongxing Telecom if he agreed to leave Zhuoyue and Yuqing (the city) after the project, taking An Yu with him, to ensure An Yu would no longer encounter Zhou Yuan.

Shao Moli firmly rejected her offer, stating that while he would go anywhere with An Yu, it was not the same for An Yu, and he would not make such decisions for the person he loves, as he trusts her to choose for herself.
