An Yu was enchanted by a firefly fluttering near Shao Moli in the hot springs. She went to catch it, but her stomach soon rumbled, prompting Shao Moli to promise her a delicious treat back at their room. Meanwhile, Ye Kai was at home, idly checking Lailai’s social media posts. He thought about messaging her, but remembering how she had canceled on him for Li Zhou, he deleted the message he had typed out.

Li Zhou’s recent post only added to his distress. Back at the resort, Shao Moli, having brought his favorite instant noodles, insisted on personally cooking them for An Yu. An Yu expressed how wonderful it felt to have a hot bowl of noodles after a relaxing soak. Upon tasting them, she raved about his cooking skills. Shao Moli then asked about her biggest goal at Zhuoyue. An Yu admitted her current aspiration was to join the Investment Department.

She acknowledged its reputation for being cutthroat but explained that her father had taught her that capital could also have warmth. She believed it was a place where both warmth and power could coexist. Anticipating Shao Moli’s skepticism, she quickly added that she knew he would say her idea was unrealistic given the department’s competitive nature. However, Shao Moli clarified that he would wholeheartedly support her if it was truly her goal and something she genuinely wanted to do.

Just then, Shao Moli received a call from Lin Zhanhong, the chairman of Zhuoyue. Lin Zhanhong was at the airport, about to board a flight to Yuqing, where he intended to reorganize Zhuoyue, particularly the management structure and the Investment Department. He invited Shao Moli to join Zhuoyue, emphasizing the company's urgent need for him. Shao Moli agreed to consider the offer.

He then shared the exciting news with An Yu, who was thrilled, seeing it as a golden opportunity to pursue her dream. She resolved to work even harder. While An Yu and Shao Moli were at the front desk to resolve an issue with their room key, they crossed paths with Zhou Yuan and Mi Lu, who were checking in. The two pairs exchanged glances but did not speak.

Elsewhere, Ye Kai was still upset about Lailai, convinced she had accepted Li Zhou's confession based on his social media. That night, Lailai, after hesitating to knock on Ye Kai's door, messaged him asking if he was free to meet her. She then waited for him by the river to discuss something important, wrestling with her thoughts on whether to confess her feelings. When Ye Kai arrived, looking disheveled, he immediately guessed Li Zhou had confessed to her.

Lailai confirmed it, explaining that Li Zhou had asked her three questions: who she’d share her happiest and saddest moments with, whose company made her feel relaxed and timeless, and whose involvement with another would bother her. Li Zhou claimed the answers to these questions were all Lailai for him. However, when Lailai considered these questions, she realized the answer in her heart was always Ye Kai.

She admitted that she constantly thought of him, wanted to share everything with him, felt at ease in his presence, and was deeply saddened by the thought of him not being around. She revealed that she had not accepted Li Zhou’s confession. Overwhelmed with emotion, Ye Kai, in turn, confessed his long-held feelings, recalling how frantic he was when she disappeared at the karaoke bar and how his heart pounded during their camping trip.

He explained that she had shown him the joy of frugality and the true meaning of money. He told her he liked her and promised she would never be lonely. He asked her to be his girlfriend, and Lailai joyfully accepted. They embraced, exclaiming how lucky they both were, and walked hand-in-hand. They playfully teased each other about whether Ye Kai had known about Li Zhou's feelings all along.

Later that evening, Mi Lu and Zhou Yuan went to the hotel restaurant, hoping to find a table with a view of the fireworks. With no individual tables available, they were offered a shared table, which happened to be An Yu and Shao Moli's. Despite Zhou Yuan’s hesitation, Mi Lu insisted on joining them. At the table, Mi Lu made a snide remark about An Yu’s childcare arrangements, implying that An Yu's son, Yiyi, was neglected.

An Yu, disgusted, decided to leave with Shao Moli. Outside, both were frustrated about not having responded more forcefully. They imagined a heated argument where Shao Moli accused Zhou Yuan of betraying his ex-wife and Mi Lu of being a mistress, while Mi Lu retorted with veiled accusations against An Yu, implying she used Shao Moli to get ahead.

In the imaginary confrontation, Shao Moli vehemently defended An Yu, stating that he was the one who pursued her and brought her to Zhuoyue because of her kindness and strength. He proudly declared he would give An Yu anything she desired, unlike their shameful display. Realizing that such confrontation was not ideal, An Yu commented that life shouldn't be like that, just as fireworks lit up the night sky.

She remarked that this beautiful scene was how life should truly be. After the fireworks, Shao Moli decided to take An Yu to a special place. While they were heading there, he received a call informing him that his grandmother had suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. He immediately suggested they return the next day.

An Yu, however, insisted that Yiyi's upcoming family sports day was important and urged Shao Moli to stay with their son while she went back alone to care for his grandmother. Despite his concerns for her, An Yu assured him she would be fine. They then proceeded to the old, secluded spot. An Yu recognized it as her childhood secret base and wondered how he knew of it.

Shao Moli revealed that he was the little boy she had rescued sixteen years ago. He recounted how, at eight years old, he was bullied and told he had no one to protect him. He described how An Yu, through a window, had extended her hand and taught him to look at the sky to overcome his fear and climb up. An Yu remembered her own words, recognizing their shared past.

Shao Moli shared how he had always feared the dark, but since meeting her, he no longer did. He also reminded her about her passion for drawing, revealing that she had given him his first box of crayons, which he cherished to this day. He explained how drawing became an outlet for him, adding color to his life, and how he could still feel her warmth and kindness from that gift.

Shao Moli further disclosed that he was adopted and moved abroad, wishing he had the chance to say goodbye. An Yu realized that his earlier claims of repaying gratitude were true, as he had secretly helped her since she started looking for a job. An Yu asked why he hadn't told her all of this sooner. Shao Moli confessed his hesitation, unsure of the right time or her reaction.

Finally, he openly declared his love for her in their secret base, expressing that she was incredibly important to him and asking if she felt the same way. An Yu was taken aback and, after a moment, apologized, explaining that while she was grateful for everything he had done, she wished for it all to end there. Shao Moli, disappointed, simply asked, "Why?" An Yu could only repeat her apologies.

Meanwhile, back at An Yu and Lailai's apartment, Lailai and Ye Kai were enjoying their new relationship. Dressed in matching dinosaur pajamas, they were playfully affectionate. When they got hungry, Ye Kai offered to cook instant noodles, deeming takeout a waste of money. Just as they were cooking, An Yu and Shao Moli unexpectedly returned. In a panic, Ye Kai grabbed his clothes and scrambled to hide in Lailai’s room, while Lailai attempted to cover their tracks.

An Yu questioned Lailai about her early return, to which Lailai replied that their plans had changed. An Yu noticed Lailai's new dinosaur pajamas, while Lailai tried to deflect by asking about the hot spring trip. An Yu began to tell her, "I have something to tell you."
