Zhou Tong finished packing his luggage and went downstairs to say goodbye to his mother, Song Guanwang. Seeing his reluctance, she suggested he call Wen Xiaoyao again. Zhou Tong mentioned he had already sent a message, but Wen Xiaoyao hadn't seen her phone and was unaware. Feeling further contact was unnecessary, he accepted his mother's final instructions and left with his backpack. Having promised Wen Xiaoyao he would watch the performance, Zhou Tong made a detour to the theater.
He stopped at the entrance to message her, hoping to meet. Meanwhile, inside, Wen Xiaoyao and Yin Ye were doing stretches, and Zhao Gang instructed her not to be distracted by her phone. Zhou Tong waited for a while but received no reply and didn't see her, so he decided he had to proceed to the airport. Wen Xiaoyao finally got a moment to rest in the makeup room as arranged by Zhao Gang.
She quickly checked her phone and saw Zhou Tong's message saying he was waiting at the entrance. Excited, she rushed towards the door. Song Guanwang, understanding her son's lingering feelings, felt uneasy about him leaving the country unsettled. Midway to the airport, she called Zhou Tong, suggesting he return and start over if he still felt Wen Xiaoyao was worth it. Her words swayed Zhou Tong, and he prepared to turn back.
Song Guanwang was downstairs when she saw Zhou Tong arriving back home, accompanied by a stranger. Song Guanwang didn't know the person was Xu Tian and initially thought Zhou Tong was joking, believing he hadn't gone to the airport after all. Xu Tian politely introduced himself, but Song Guanwang informed him Zhou Tong was not home, explaining he had gone to the airport.
Upon seeing how similar Xu Tian's face was to her son's, Song Guanwang invited Xu Tian inside to sit for a while, while Shi Diandian waited in the car. Meanwhile, near the boarding gate, Zhou Tong was preparing to send a final message to Wen Xiaoyao. Wen Xiaoyao, who was about to start an interview, managed to connect with him via video call.
During the interview, she addressed a previous video recorded by Qiaomi, explaining it was a joke, and openly stated that even though they had only known each other for six days, she was certain she had fallen in love with Zhou Tong. She added that she wouldn't be able to perform the character of Bai Suzhen in this state if not for meeting Zhou Tong.
Hearing her words, especially after initially feeling foolish about the video, Zhou Tong's mood shifted dramatically, and he immediately turned around, determined to head to the theater to see the performance. Shortly after Zhou Tong's change of heart, the ballet company faced an unexpected crisis: the principal dancer playing Bai Suzhen, Yang Yun, suffered a back injury. Fortunately, Wen Xiaoyao's performance in rehearsals had been outstanding, and she was chosen to take over the lead role.
Back at the house, Song Guanwang asked Xu Tian about his life experiences. She learned his mother had passed away when he was very young, and he had lived alone since, which must have been difficult. Xu Tian didn't complain, feeling he had gained a lot, especially since meeting his girlfriend, Shi Diandian. After chatting for a while, as they were preparing to leave, Xu Tian asked if he could see upstairs.
Song Guanwang replied that Zhou Tong's room was messy and there wasn't anything to see, so Xu Tian didn't press further. After Xu Tian and Shi Diandian left, Song Guanwang called Zhou Tong, asking if he had boarded the plane. To her complete bewilderment, Zhou Tong suddenly declared that he had decided Wen Xiaoyao was the one for him, that he wouldn't go anywhere else in the future, and would stay by his mother's side to fulfill his filial duties.
At the theater, Wen Xiaoyao was getting ready for her second interview, keeping her phone line open with Zhou Tong. Zhao Gang came into the makeup room, insisting that Wen Xiaoyao stop external contact and focus on getting into character for the performance. Qiao Guanghui and Qiaomi tried to enter the makeup area but were also treated as outsiders and told to leave by Zhao Gang.
Wen Xiaoyao asked Qiao Guanghui if he would leave a ticket for Zhou Tong at the entrance. Qiaomi, hearing that Zhou Tong had cancelled his trip abroad, felt some relief from her guilt. Xu Tian and Shi Diandian were planning to eat before returning to Hangzhou. Shi Diandian asked if he would come back to Beijing in the future, and Xu Tian replied that he would live peacefully in Hangzhou from now on.
They decided to have Peking Duck and parked their car near a restaurant. Zhou Tong was on the Fourth Ring Road but got stuck in severe evening traffic. With the cars barely moving and the performance time approaching, he decided to take the subway instead. Wen Xiaoyao messaged Qiao Guanghui via WeChat to remind him about leaving a ticket at the door. Xu Tian listened as Shi Diandian explained Beijing's complicated traffic, finding it overwhelming.
He said he would follow all of Shi Diandian's arrangements and later even covered his eyes, letting her lead him. Zhou Tong exited the subway station and was crossing an intersection when he unexpectedly came face to face with Shi Diandian and Xu Tian. Shi Diandian saw Zhou Tong directly but dared not remove Xu Tian's blindfold. As the two pairs walked past each other face to face, Zhou Tong was completely distracted.
Seeing the green light turn on but failing to move off the pedestrian walkway, he was struck by an approaching truck. Shi Diandian was terrified and pulled Xu Tian, quickening their pace. After entering a nearby restaurant, Shi Diandian became restless. Using the excuse of going to the restroom, she left the restaurant and accompanied Zhou Tong onto the ambulance.
On the way to the hospital, Song Guanwang called, and Shi Diandian informed her that Zhou Tong had been in a car accident. Xu Tian waited in the restaurant for a long time for Shi Diandian to return and called her phone, only to realize she hadn't taken it with her.
