On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, the intense heat forced Xiao Qing to seek refuge in the depths of West Lake, where she inadvertently reverted to her true form. Fahai, passing by, discovered her and placed her within his Zijin Bowl, covering it with a green lotus to shield her from the sun. This act by Fahai saved Xiao Qing from the torment of the scorching Dragon Boat Festival heat.

As he prepared to depart, Fahai released Xiao Qing into the deep mountains. Unsure of his intentions, Xiao Qing questioned him. Fahai, having received a wisdom eye from his master, was astonished to discover that Xiao Qing was a half-god, a revelation that equally surprised Xiao Qing. Seeking answers about her true nature, Xiao Qing followed Fahai all the way back to Lin'an City. Meanwhile, at Xu Xian's home, Ruyi was sprinkling realgar everywhere throughout the courtyard.

Just then, Xu Xian returned early from work with wine. Ruyi snatched Xu Xian's wine, added realgar to it, and repeatedly urged Xu Xian to share it with Suzhen, emphasizing that it was a Dragon Boat Festival tradition for every household. She also pointed out that Suzhen had been feeling unwell recently, and realgar wine had beneficial properties for clearing heat and dispelling toxins.

Thinking it harmless and even beneficial, Xu Xian eagerly returned to his room to drink with Suzhen. As he poured the fragrant wine, Suzhen immediately detected the distinct smell of realgar. Despite her discomfort, Xu Xian's repeated toasts and insistence made it difficult to refuse. With a hopeful thought that her millennia of cultivation would protect her, Suzhen drank the potent liquor, but soon felt an uncontrollable change beginning within her.

Frantically, Suzhen pushed Xu Xian out of the room, desperately trying to suppress her transformation. However, the harder she tried, the more the prayer beads Ruyi had given her glowed, amplifying the effect. In a fierce struggle between her power and the beads, Suzhen ultimately failed to maintain her human form. A colossal white python, radiating with white light, appeared, coiling on the roof beams.

Outside, Ruyi intentionally called out to Xu Xian, urging him to break down the door, claiming she saw a white snake that might endanger Suzhen. Terrified for his wife, Xu Xian's spirit and soul felt like they left his body, and he vehemently forced open the door, rushing inside. The room was in disarray, with furniture overturned, but his wife was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, a five-foot thick, hundred-meter-long white snake with green eyes and a crimson tongue flickered from its mouth. At that moment, Xu Xian, undeterred by the sight of the massive snake, was heartbroken, believing his wife had become the snake's feast. Overwhelmed by grief and shock, he collapsed. Ruyi, joined by Jiaorong and Gongfu, arrived to witness the scene, hoping to trap Suzhen in her original form, but found only a fainted Xu Xian.

Just then, Fahai and Xiao Qing arrived. Suzhen, transforming into a streak of white light, rushed out of the house. Fahai observed the shattered talisman on the ground, confirming it was the work of a demon. Xiao Qing, accusing Fahai of orchestrating this disaster and raging, was about to attack him when Suzhen's pained cries from outside interrupted her. Suzhen, having quickly regained her human form, burst back into the room, her only concern being Xu Xian.

Jiaorong, however, was furious, accusing Suzhen of abandoning Xu Xian in his time of need and now merely putting on a show of grief. Suzhen realized then that Ruyi's intentions were malicious and that the prayer beads were a calculated trap. Knowing that further explanations were futile, she simply asked Ruyi to take Jiaorong away. After the others left, Suzhen knelt before Fahai, pleading with him to save the dying Xu Xian.

Fahai, being merely human, stated he was powerless to help. Undeterred, Suzhen remained by Xu Xian's side for three days, neither eating, drinking, nor sleeping. On the morning of the third day, Jiaorong brought people to carry away Xu Xian's cold body for burial, wishing him peace in the afterlife. Suzhen adamantly refused, wildly claiming that she could save Xu Xian. Jiaorong, having lost all faith in Suzhen, thought she had gone mad.

In a desperate plea, Suzhen staked her life, begging for three more days, vowing to revive Xu Xian. Jiaorong, left with no choice, reluctantly agreed, but warned Suzhen that if she failed, she should never return. Suzhen instructed Xiao Qing to summon Fahai for protection.

With Xu Xian's seven spirits gone and only his soul of Tian and Di remaining, held within his body by Suzhen's demon core, Suzhen asked Fahai to help Xiao Qing maintain an altar lamp, extending the three-day deadline. She herself planned to travel to the sacred Kunlun Mountain to steal the fairy grass needed to restore Xu Xian's life. This audacious plan quickly reached Jing Song's ears.

The thought of Suzhen risking everything for a mere mortal stirred him, and he set off for Kunlun to intercept her. The fairy grass was located in the domain of the Emperor of Longevity of the South Pole, guarded by his immortal attendants, a crane and a deer, who were natural enemies of white snakes. Without her demon core, Suzhen, a demon, faced impossible odds against divine magic. Such dangers were not unknown to Suzhen, yet she remained determined.

Jing Song tried to persuade her to turn back, then protected her, eventually rescuing a gravely injured Suzhen from peril. Upon regaining consciousness, Suzhen remained unwavering in her resolve. Jing Song, seeing no other option, offered her his tooth. He explained that he was originally a golden mouse who cultivated near Buddha's seat. He was punished and banished to the mortal realm for using the Buddha's golden lotus to sharpen his teeth.

This tooth, now his avatar, was imbued with the power of the golden lotus, making it indestructible and capable of tearing through time, allowing her to return to the past to save Xu Xian. The tooth transformed into a five-petal golden lotus, capable of sending Suzhen back in time five times. Jing Song cautioned her that reversing fate demanded immense mental and physical energy, especially for her without her demon core.

She must not use it twice in a row, and in the past, her cultivation would be limited to that specific time. She should not attempt to go too far back, as getting trapped in the past would mean no return. Suzhen was urged to remember these warnings. Suzhen then used a golden lotus petal to travel back in time by the duration of one incense stick, disguising herself as a crane boy.

Upon arriving, she was shocked to find the fairy grass missing. As the disguised crane boy, she asked the deer boy, who was supposed to be guarding the fairy grass, about its whereabouts. The deer boy casually revealed that the Emperor of Longevity had taken the fairy grass as a birthday gift for the Queen of Heaven's grand banquet in Yaochi. Time was of the essence, so Suzhen risked journeying to Nantian.

At the heavily guarded South Heaven Gate, she disguised herself as the Deer Boy, claiming to be delivering a forgotten birthday gift from the South Pole Emperor of Longevity. The guards, recognizing the name, let her in. The Queen of Heaven's banquet was a gathering of myriad immortals, including the Four Directions Buddhas, Northern Pole Xuan Ling, Five Dipper Star Lords, Ten Continents and Three Islands Immortal Elders, Three Mountains and Five Peaks Deities, and many other formidable figures.

Suzhen knew that even with her suppressed demon aura, she would struggle to evade their keen eyes. With no other choice, she transformed herself into an immortal to blend in with the other guests.
